As a new customer, I felt the quality of work was good but was over-​charged. After the work was done, I checked the work line items on the receipt with RepairPal and AutoMD for my zip code, and both websites indicated over-​charge of $ 200-​$ 250.
I felt like I just came off the street and not a regular old-​time customer. Probably won’t return and will look for a shop that charges current fair market rates.

You’re not going to find a better auto shop than Renfro. Chip Renfro, the owner, is as good as they get. He’s on the ball, honest, quick with responses, and most importantly: he does the right thing.
I have been taking my car to Renfro for things ranging from my wipers needing to be replaced, to having him listen to a noise to diagnose, to having my timing belt and head gasket changed. From minor to major, Renfro gets the job done quickly, correctly and he is so straight forward with pricing — never any surprises. He’ll even tell you if you can get a better deal elsewhere, yes he’s that nice.
His staff is very knowledgeable. Chad was the one who worked on the issue with my ’03 Civic head gasket. He called twice during the week when my car was there and filled me in on the status updates. He called if there were any changes to the work being done (decided to have my timing belt and water pump changed since my engine was already out for the head gasket). He got my permission before «okaying» and more work being done.
They open quite early in the morning, and close at 1pm on Fridays. They are excellent about coordinating ways to drop off/​pick up your car.
All in all, if you’re looking for a great, honest, responsive, knowledgeable place to take your vehicle, look no further than Renfro Auto Center in Wheaton.
