I am so glad I chose Russ and Thet to be our engagement and wedding photographer. They are extremely professional and the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Their work is amazing, capturing the essence of beauty and giving us the best memories to hold onto for the rest of our lives. We chose their most top package and it was the best decision ever.
Prior to booking them, I did a lot of wedding photography research for the best quality of work and price. I had an extremely hard time finding the right photographers, and thankfully we ran into Russ and Thet at a wedding expo. Nothing came close to Russ and Thet. There were too many other photographers out there with ridiculous hidden fees (extra charge for this and that). Russ and Thet had none of that and their quality of work is on point. You got nothing to worry about if you have Russ and Thet. I would recommend them to everyone! I already did the research for you… just book Russ and Thet. Thank me later :)

We just had my engagement photo shoot and I love my pictures. They are so nice, flexible and professional. They really try to get to know you to be able to capture the best photos. I can’t wait for my wedding pictures!

They led the charge during the portrait sessions, making sure we stayed on schedule and covered everything we had discussed. During the ceremony and reception, they were able to capture all of the key moments without being intrusive. Also, the best part of the day was that they were even able to create a same day slide show of the photographs. This was such a treat and so many guests complimented on how beautiful the photos were and how they loved being able to see the photos of the bridal party getting ready, photos with our our families, and even a few from our engagement.
I cannot recommend Russ and Thet enough. If you are looking to capture some beautiful memories, please book them!

From the day we consulted with them until the day all products were delivered, we have nothing but praises for this wonderful husband-​wife team from Whittier, CA.
Russ (Russell) was the technical photographer and editor, and Thet (Maria Theresa) was the creative director. No only were their rates realistic and affordable, their service was on par with others that cost more.
They did a great job capturing our special event, despite given only a month to prepare because of our last-​minute wedding preparation. They had sincere intentions of giving their best, and went beyond our expectations to ensure that they capture what we wanted and more. One example is that they offered to do an additional, complimentary, 1-​hour session to capture some portrait shots that both Russ and Thet and my wife and I wanted, but weren’t done the day of the wedding because of our crazy schedule.
From engagement shots to the actual wedding, our fun-​seeking personalities were apparent in their work. (We requested that this be highlighted much more than the more serious, dramatic photos.)
Lastly, being an experienced wedding coordinator, it’s such an added value that Thet helped us with a timeline. She made realistic time frames for each part of our wedding and the amount of time for shots to be properly taken.

My fiancé and I are working with Russ & Thet for our upcoming wedding at the end of the year. So far we’ve met with Russ & Thet a few times and just had our engagement photo session. So for now this review is for the engagement photo session portion. (I’ll update this review after our wedding)
Our experience so far has been great. When deciding among wedding photographers, we met them at a bridal show and then made and appointment to meet at their studios to ask questions and look at more of their work. There was no pressure, they were very open in answering our questions and explained things well (from schedules/​timelines to the equipment they use).
The best way I can describe our engagement session was relaxed and drama free. I’m not much for standing in front of the camera (I didn’t even want to do engagement photos when we started looking into wedding photographers), but Russ & Thet made us very comfortable and easy to be ourselves. They give you a bunch of options to choose from in deciding where to have your engagement session (i.e. beach, park, Downtown, etc.) We chose a park + Downtown L.A. combo.
I was surprised at how two locations can turn into so many different kinds of photos. I think there were 3 different spots at the park (picnic setting, a little bridge, and a stream) and 5 – 6 spots in Downtown LA all within walking distance of each other. The different spots in Downtown L.A. all had a different style to them (fancy, playful, the skyline, some water involved, busy city, etc.). They also had brought a few props for both the park and Downtown (nothing crazy to crowd-​drawing, just some fun stuff).
And honestly, we saw another couple doing their engagement photos and I think the spots that Russ & Thet chose were better. Seriously, I didn’t once think to ask Russ & Thet if we could take photos like the other couple.
So overall we were really happy with our engagement shoot. We hope our wedding day shoot turns out just as enjoyable and we’ll planned.

You only have so many times in your adult life where you can howl at the moon. Your wedding is one of those few occasions. So many decisions have lead you to that moment, and whether you are a traditionalist who plans something elaborate with a lot of people, or are thinking of something more intimate with just your closest friends and family, photos are instrumental on helping you remember just how special it was.
Russ was our photographer for our prenup & civil wedding reception way back in 2010 & was an absolute pleasure to work with. He is very friendly and very humble. To say I’m not photogenic is an understatement but, understanding this, Russ was very helpful on how to pose, where the best locations were, & the results were incredible! The entire Santa Monica Beach was natural & beautiful. My husband and I remembered those special events in a blur but after seeing the photos, all of the feelings came back, this time in full color. It really does help to see things from an outside perspective and it takes an enormous amount of trust in the person capturing those moments for you to do them justice.
Also, just last year, we did a Christmas photo shoot. This time with both of them (husband & wife) as a team. And my, it was a riot — a good one! Haha! No dull moments with Russ & Thet. We’re always laughing and giggling and the location they got for us was just fantastic. A night shoot at the Walt Disney Concert Hall & LACMA, who can beat that?! Our friends & family who’ve seen the photos they put together were beyond impressed.
I am immensely thankful to Russ & Thet Studio for their talents and their ease. They’re wonderful to work with. I would refer them to anyone looking for talented people to not only capture a meaningful moment but to create beautiful memories. Love them!

Russ and Thet are an amazing team! I hired them to do some headshots and not only were they completely prepared with the location and the poses, but their professionalism and customer service was some of the best I have experienced! I shopped around for a few different places and their prices were extremely fair and competitive.
The poses they suggested were spot on in helping me look professional and trustworthy (which is not easy to do).
They edited the photos extremely fast, and sent a DVD with the edited shots and hard copies in about a week.
Overall — the experience was top notch and they are an honest, friendly, and experienced team. I will definitely use them again for any and all of my photo needs!
