The Knotted Apron

I have been to the Knotted Apron three times. Once for a private party, another for a party that we hosted and for a cooking class. I have been very impressed with the service, surroundings, ease of arrangements and pleasant nature of George and his staff. The cooking class we had on New Orleans cuisine, lead by Chef Courtney was fabulous. We were a group pf 12 friends and had a wonderful time. We learned how to prepare breaded zucchini, garlic shrimp, jambalaya and beignet. Everything was very well organized and presented. It went smoothly and we had food to take home. I highly recommend the Knotted Apron for your next event or a cooking class.

This is seriously a place where you can cook, eat, drink & seriously just have such amazing fun time with friends/​family! The venue has a great industrial-​lofty feel & not intimidating for any first timers! The Chefs were absolutely friendly and very attentive to details. We had light appetizers along with chilled water & Lemonade to greet us as we all arrived. Chef Porscha was awesome and very interactive with us as we prepped and cooked. She was open to questions and her answers were simple and helpful. She made it very comfortable to cook along her instructions and guide us through our cooking class. Thank you Porscha! Music in the background made us do flashbacks to high school and let me tell you, we have quite a few! PiHi ’93-’97! Lol! Honestly the difficult thing is slewing which dinner menu to cook! Anything you choose, WILL NOT DIASSPOINT! it is such a great menu selection, so we know we will be back to try a few of them! So first thing first this place is like no other! I had my birthday party last year and fell in love with this place! One of the best birthdays ever! So tonight I had the pleasure of coming back for my dear friends birthday and it didn’t disappoint! The chef was awesome and taught with passion and enthusiasm! George the owner was so attentive and always paying attention to detail! We cooked ate drank and celebrated! I feel like my skills in the kitchen definitely improved and I CAN NOT WAIT TO COME BACK! The location is so beautiful and welcoming! Thank you knotted apron for a great experience! Worth every cent!

I attended a private cooking class here and loved it! The space is really cool and the kitchen was great too. I have taken a few cooking classes at other places but this would probably be my favourite experience. Alonzo, our chef and teacher, taught us to make some delicious dishes. I like that they had us cooking in groups of two and each group had their own propane cooktop to cook our own dishes on. We made the Steakhouse Specials menu and they allowed us to substitute some dishes from other menus, which was great! I definitely want to come back either for another class or rent out the space for a party.

This new venue has quickly become one of my favorites. I have been here quite a few times and have never been disappointed. I LOVE how cute the place is! The outdoor section is beautifully decorated with chandeliers and strings of lights hanging above, while still allowing you to view the night sky (very romantic, great for engagements!). Aside from the awesome décor, the staff here is amazing! Always very friendly and accommodating to everyone’s needs! Chef/​owner George is the greatest! He is very attentive and always makes sure that everyone has a great experience and is satisfied with their visit here! I highly recommend this place! I will definitely be returning!

Where do I even begin with this review?!? My experience was awesome from start to finish!
My friend and I wanted to celebrate our birthdays with our girlfriends and wanted to do something different. I found this cooking class and inquired with George. He explained everything, worked with me and all the dietary restrictions my group had and even showed me the space before hand. We ended up having the place to ourselves that day and had a great time. They let me chose the station for music, use their speakers and allowed me to bring in my own adult beverages ;). We chose the Chophouse Classics menu and everyone loved it. They provided a complimentary empanada appetizer which was a hit. I guess I didn’t calculate with the amount of drinks I brought and they were so great that they refilled my jug with sangria. Who does that? These guys do!!!
After we cooked and ate outside, they let us stay for a bit after to just hang out and talk. It was a perfect night. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something different to do.
George is the best!

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME.
My friend wanted to take a cooking class, I assumed they’d all be in LA (overpriced, hyped up, etc) but luckily I ran into the knotted apron. We took the «Chophouse Classics» cooking class, only $ 65! Everything included AND BYOB! We cooked a bacon and bleu cheese wedge salad, bacon and tomato jam glazed ribeye steak, parmesan and chive hasselback potatoes, and individual chocolate hazelnut tortes!
It was a nice and cozy environment, the set up was literally out of the food network. I would recommend everyone to take at least one class, it was one of the best experiences of my life.

Our office just had our holiday party here, a private cooking class for a group of 10 people.
First, organizing a party and planning the menu was a breeze. George was prompt and quick to respond to questions and had excellent suggestions.
The ambiance of this place cannot be beat, it was beautifully decorated and very spacious. Lighting and music was spot on.
The food was amazing! Our group learned a lot of new tips and tricks to try at home in our own kitchen.
I would not hesitate to return to the Knotted Apron for any of their events or have another private event here!

I went to the first Chef Throw Down last Sunday and what a great venue. Very spacious and a nice setup. It catered to about 100 or so people. I believe the event was a success. It was great to try at least 8 different tastings from Luxury of the sea Uni, Foie Gras, Pork Belly, Tuna, Grilled Shrimp, Octopus, Lobster Bisque, and Beef Tartar. The Chef Chris Tzorzin kept it real and fun. Chef Chris Driscoll made the event fun. Thanks to Jeff Bovon from Solo Foods for providing the seafood and meat.

As I sit and enjoy my leftover dessert with coffee this morning I reflect at what an awesome experience I had last night at this facility. From the moment I walked in I felt the love of what Robert, Alonzo and staff feel for their craft. I have to admit I was nervous about cooking but that was only for a short time as we started our Mexican Thanksgiving cooking class. And we did it ourselves… so fun and creative. I learned from how to hold a knife to mixing a cake from scratch. It was the best way to spend an evening with a good friend or love as it takes two to create a masterpiece. I was solo but the staff assisted me and made me feel good about my cooking skills. And another piece of excellence, we tasted our ending product and took home leftovers… my car smelled like a Mexican Thanksgiving… I highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants to explore the life of a chef. I especially love the thematic future classes. I am asking for gift certificates for Christmas. Will definately sign up for future classes. Thank you so much for everything Knotted Apron…

New venue, awesome concept brought to you by owner/​chef George. Check it out if you want to take a hands-​on cooking class with a real chef! Take a date or friend. Fun atmosphere, delicious food, and the staff is very sweet. Also available to rent out venue for private events; I recently went to their Vaka Burgers pop-​up dinner, and Chef Throwdown events. Best experience ever! Highly recommended! I had my birthday party here and received the best service ever. The cooking class and the food is amazing! If you haven’t experienced this type venue, it’s a must. I am defiantly planning my next event here.
