I’ve been in search for a go-to Thai place in Winston bc my favorite place is in my hometown and I always get the Tom Kha soup and chicken pad Thai there and so it has set the standards high for other Thai restaurants. On a rainy day I decided to try take out from here and needless to say I was not disappointed! The chicken pad Thai serving was enough for me to eat 3 times and it was delicious. The Tom Kha soup was good as well with the exception of the tomatoes — I don’t love tomatoes in it. I will definitely be back to dine in and try some other entrees!

I was impressed with this little Thai place. I’ve never been so I wanted to try them out. It was very clean inside and the staff was very friendly. I had the chicken Pad Thai with rice noodles, Tamarind sauce, chicken, onions and eggs. It was slightly sweet, but light. I had plenty to take home and enjoyed having a snack later for sure. I also had their friend dumplings with a pork filling. They were so delicious. I can’t wait to return!

Delicious thai food at an affordable cost. I love it. I’ve gotten the Pad See Ew and the Pad Thai at this place, and they were both delicious. Both dishes had good sauce and noodle ratio. Portions don’t seem that big, but Thai food is pretty heavy so by the end of your meal you will be stuffed. I couldn’t even finish all of my food(a first). Thai iced tea was a served in a huge glass cup, so you know you’re getting your money worth. Staff is nice and service is quick. This place is also one of the only places in Winston(that I know of) that serves boba, but the boba is so frozen that it was hard to drink. Some of the tapioca wouldn’t even fit through the straw.

Love this place. Service is fast and friendly, atmosphere is great(lots of light and plants), prices are reasonable, and the food is fantastic. The yellow curry is amazing!

Love coming here to eat Pad Thai and Pad See Ew. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food and service are fast. Interior is very comfortable and clean. Serving bubble tea is a plus. It’s very hard to find bubble tea in Winston Salem.

Cha Da Thai to me is the holy grail of Thai. Perhaps I’m slightly bias after living directly above their Boone location for a year, and I admittedly haven’t been to Thailand, but have searched throughout the US for a curry that stands up to that of Cha Da Thai. My friends and I who are religious Cha Da fans will even document our non-Cha Da experiences, creating a road map of where to get curry in the US. Back to the curry – balance is the key. The sauce to fresh vegetables to meat balance is great, and the curry flavor is rich and creamy without being too thick and hard on the stomach. Additionally, their lunch value is amazing. Each day is a different curry. At 5.95 you get a salad with great dressing, and a curry dish. Their pad Thai is great, too, if that’s your thing, but I haven’t created an actual roadmap of cha da quality pad Thai – I’m too focused on the curry! And of course, the wait staff is attentive and courteous.

This place had THEWORST Pad Kee Mao I have ever had the misfortune to be cursed with. The red curry was divine. The sticky rice lovely. But lord oh lord that Pad Kee Mao. Just avoid it like the plague. It tastes like Chinese sweet and sour pork. But with noodles! WTF??? And it was saucy soupy. So flipping GROSS. I sorely want my money back. If you have your heart set on Pad Kee Mao avoid at all costs. Mad and sad you will be. Just like me.

My go-to for Thai in Winston. I love going here for a relaxed and casual dinner — it’s in the corner of a shopping center off of Jonestown Rd. and is very easy to miss. They have a lot of different Thai dishes on the menu that are more rare from the usual that I’m used to, and it’s all very affordable for Thai food. Last time we went, we got the wonton soup and golden-fried fish balls as appetizers. The wonton soup was excellent — it was obvious that the wontons were homemade and it comes served in a really tasty broth with carrots, snowpeas, mushrooms, and shrimp. I was wary about the fish balls, but they were really good too — very fresh fish and fried perfectly. As an entrée I got a stir-fried noodle dish, Pad Kai Khua, with noodles, lettuce, green onion, beef, bean sprout, and egg. This is a more mildly spicy dish that you can easily eat pounds of. I loved the lettuce and the overall flavor was great — I added some of the dry Thai spice to it and it was perfect. I wish we could’ve tried their Thai Tea — last time we went they were all out. The service itself can be spotty at times — sometimes they are very attentive and other times loud cleanup begins very early while we’re still eating. However, the food always comes out very quickly, hot and fresh. Everything I’ve ever ordered here has been great, and I definitely recommend giving it a try.

I’ve been here a few times for take-out and so far I’m very impressed. When I moved to Winston-Salem I was met with countless lackluster Thai restaraunts. A customer at my bar suggested Cha Da Thai and since then I’ve never looked back. Great food for a great price!!!

Probably my family’s favorite restaurant in Winston. The atmosphere is what makes it — it’s so soothing and welcoming! The staff are genuine and attentive, and the food is delicious. Try the phở! Actually, try anything; you can’t go wrong. The Thai iced tea is an acquired taste but amazing. Just do yourself a favor and make this your go-to Thai place in town.

Simply amazing! This is by far my favorite restaurant. The Thai food is the best I’ve had anywhere and as close to authentic you can get. Such flavorful food. I’ve never been disappointed here. They have very inexpensive lunch specials, and the over all value is excellent for what you get. I highly recommend this place. It’s very nice inside and quite. Perfect for a delicious relaxing meal without kids screaming in your head. Try the crispy duck… Simply delicious!

Was here last Friday to pick up 2 to go orders. This was my second visit and so far so good. Pad Thai was fresh and filling and the thai iced tea while I waited for my orders was great as well. I see this being my friday takeout spot.

YUMYUMYUMMY!!! I love this place and my only regret is that I don’t get to visit more often. I’ve tried a lot of their yummy dishes, but I always go back to the yellow curry vegetables. Sounds boring, but it is SOGOOD! It’s hard for me to find a curry that I like and I truly love the yellow curry here. I could drink it straight. Speaking of drinks, I love the iced Thai tea they have here. It’s so sweet and flavourful, it’s more like a sweet treat than a beverage :) I also like the atmosphere. Pretty quiet with waterfall statues and fish tanks. Very calming sounds and delicious smells. It’s in the corner of a strip mall near a gym and a sewing machine repair store. If you like Thai and have not tried this place put it on your to do list. You’ll be so glad.

Cha-Da Thai is a nice little Thai restaurant in a strip mall off of Jonestown Rd. I ordered the Angel Wings which were chicken wings stuffed with Mushrooms, onions, carrots, celery and glass noodles fried crispy brown. It was served with a little garnish/salad/sauce of cucumbers, peanuts, & red onion. I also ordered Ch Da Thai Steak. Marinated steak with carrots, broccoli, Napa Cabbage, and teriyaki like sauce. The young lady behind the counter was super friendly and gave great service.

I’m still craving some of that delicious Thai Iced Tea! I will definitely be returning to Cha-Da Thai, it really is great and also(which is important) affordable Thai food. We went with the chicken Pad See Ew as well as the Orange Duck. Both were great portions and delicious. A lot of great vegetables and the orange sauce mixed with the succulent duck pieces made for a great mix. I am a big fan of Pad See Ew you just can’t beat those delicious thick noodles — move over Pad Thai! We went in on a weekday and the place was pretty open but as it filled up our waitress was still very attentive.

This restaurant is great! I’ve been looking for a good Thai restaurant in Winston Salem that has Pad See Ew for years. I’ve tried many of the usual Winston Salem Thai restaurants with no luck. But then I found Cha-Da Thai — they make a great Pad See Ew! I also tried the Orange Duck and it was excellent. It’s rare that I find a Thai restaurant that isn’t too spicy and has the dishes I like, but Cha-Da meets both criteria. Also, the service was really good and the food came out pretty quick. As to price, this place is extremely affordable. It’s definitely cheaper than some of the other Thai restaurants in Winston. If you like Thai food, you should definitely give this place a try. Tip: it’s located in a strip mall behind a McDonalds, which makes it a little difficult to find.

A friend recently returned from Thailand and proclaimed that he’d «had better food in Winston-Salem.» Needless to say, he was talking about Cha-Da Thai. It’s hard to write an objective review when so much of my life in Winston has been spent coming and going from this place. This is where my family reunites when we’re together; this is where I had my first date; and this is where I learned to love Thai food. It’s not necessarily the best, maybe not even the best in Winston, but that doesn’t matter. This place is perfect to me. And while the staff has changed over the years since I’ve gone to college, the pad thai and panang curry remain true to heart. p. s. let me know if you want a copy of the background music they use

Just came here last night(Friday) with a friend. We got there around 6:30pm, and it wasn’t too busy, so we were seated right away. We ordered: vegetarian Tom Yum soup: it was sweeter than I’m used to(and than I like), but still good. It had a lot of veggies in it, mushrooms, carrots, zucchini, onions, cabbage, broccoli, tofu… Maybe there would be less veg if we’d ordered the chicken? chicken Pad Priek Daeng(sp) w/the traditional tamarind sauce: phew, this was spicy! It had two chili peppers by it ;) Very tasty dish, I’ve never had the tamarind sauce before, and it was sweetish-sour and ginger-y… Sorry, not very descriptive: P The dish came with a variety of vegetables, which was nice, but I found the chicken slices to be a bit dry. Perhaps maybe because they were cut too thinly? Still, an enjoyable entrée. tofu pad thai: I found this dish to be a little too sweet for my liking as well, but again, a good dish with lots of vegetables. Not really the best pad thai I’ve had though. I love the decorations and ambiance of the place, and service was excellent(our water glasses were never empty). I wouldn’t mind coming back to this place(they have bubble tea!), but I think next time I’ll see if they can hold off on the sugar(may already be incorporated in their pre-made sauces?)…

I’ll post a proper review when I have the time, but for now I have just one thing to say: Thai tea topped with whipped cream and a cherry!!! Were you trying to embarrass me, Cha-Da Thai? I’m secure in my manhood, thank you very much. I proudly order Shirley Temples, after all.
