Simply the best Seafood Market around the Worcester area. Staff is friendly and informative about anything you ask.

Beware– they sell frozen fish as fresh. I went in looking for fresh tuna, and they asked me to come back in two hours after an expected«delivery». That seemed unusual, since it was a Sunday afternoon. When I went back the tuna was sitting on the counter. Thought that was odd. I got home with my slice I figured out why – they were thawing it! The tuna was still partially frozen when I got it home!

Great little spot! The fish and seafood were incredible fresh and cooked perfectly. It is quite small, but that doesn’t mean it can’t compete with a bigger store. Their selection consists of all the classic — clams, lobsters, scallops, and a variety of fish. The staff were incredibly helpful and punctual with time and decisions. Very nice place!

Fresh, great staff. Had some of the best hardshells of the year from here. Central mass is not a seafood destination, but to be honest you would be hard pressed to find a fish market on the coast as good as this one.

I haven’t been to AP Fish since moving to Leicester a few years ago and normally pick up fish/seafood at Colony Farms on Main St., Worcester or on Southbridge St., Auburn, because they are a lot closer for me. For my most recent fish purchase, I was more or less forced to go to AP Fish because Colony(both Worcester and Auburn locations) did not have the fresh cod I required to cook a birthday meal for my mom that evening(I called Colony on Monday morning and was told they had cod fillets that were received on Saturday — you call that FRESH?!). So after phoning AP to ensure that they had what I wanted, off I went to Grafton Street. The store is just as I remember — full of very fresh fish and seafood, tanks full of various-sized lobsters, and no overwhelming fishy smell. I got 2 ½ pounds of beautiful, pristinely white cod fillets at a very reasonable price of $ 5.49/lb. Even after baking, they gave off no foul odor whatsoever. Needless to say, I will be making all my future fish and seafood purchases at AP even though it is bit out of my way.

Maybe winter makes it harder to get good seafood but my last three visits have yielded only OK fish, but not nearly as good as the excellent fish I’ve gotten on earlier visits. And the usually fairly-friendly staff was clearly unhappy about being there on the Sunday afternoon of the playoffs in January. Another guy and I were the only customers in the place and we were both obviously looking at what they had to offer(they had a lot, some looked good, some not so much). About a minute into it one of the kids behind the counter yells, «WHO’S NEXT?» The place is small. It was rude, it was unpleasant. I almost walked out but instead ended up with some not-so-fresh oysters and haddock. I’ll probably try again since there’s nowhere else in Worcester to buy fresh seafood, but I’ll have lower expectations.

Really good fresh fruit. Very reasonable prices. I always stop by to see what’s in season.

Love this place! I refuse to buy my seafood from anywhere else. The only thing that I don’t like is their limited hours. It makes it very hard to get there during the week because I work until 6pm. I have been known to run there quickly on my lunch break, if I get out of work early for an appt or on a Friday when they are open til 7pm. The hours is the only thing I would change about this place.

I love this place. The hours could be a little better(tough to get there by 6 during the week) but their fish and lobsters are awesome. I have not bought fish at a supermarket since I started going here. Fish is 10X better and the prices are too. As others have said, the farm stand next door is great, too! I love their stuffed clams… Throw them on the grill and they are a great app.

Bought lots of fish/sea food here. I think it’s awesome, fresh and reasonable. Lobsters«to go» and all kind of fish and sea food offered and believe the best spot in Worcester!

This place is great all of the fish is really fresh and the prices are very good, we got two giant lobsters and 2lbs of steamers for less than ½ the price of going out to dinner. The steamers were amazing! I always buy all of my fish at Whole Foods but this is going to be my new fish market. Next time I will have to check out the produce stand next door.

Good prices and good selection. This is a no frills spot — the employees are not the friendliest but that’s ok — i don’t mind getting in, picking out my seafood, and getting out.

A former girlfriend gave me tons of good memories, many involving places of interest in the Worcester area. But at the top of the list is AP Fish. Everytime I am in Worcester for business, which is usually twice a month, I stop here on my way back to Boston. The price of cod($ 4.99/lb) hasn’t changed in seven years. I do not know how they manage to get fresh product out there, but I have NEVER had a piece of fish from AP that had ANY odor whatsoever. As far as cordialiity goes, sure, the counter guys may not win any awards, but they are efficient and seemingly happy to oblige my chronic request to put ice in the double bag so my filets are kept happy on the trip home. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the veggie stand next door. Lots of counter help, always friendly, good selection and prices and sometimes a terrific deal like bananas for $.11/lb.

Really solid seafood market. I also know a few friends who have worked there over the years and everything they have told me about the way fish is purchased to how they clean the store has only served to help boost my confidence in the place. Never had an issue with the quality.

Not a huge selection, but the prices are pretty good. The guys behind the counter aren’t the friendliest and could really care less about customer service. I ignore it for the most part, but a smile or a nice word wouldn’t kill them once in a while. The mussels are always cheap, fresh and I never get dead ones in the bunch. The fish is always great, and I haven’t gotten a single bad purchase out of there. I like that they take debit/credit and paved the lot, too. Bonus not having to bottom out when I buy my fish! I’ve updated this review since my last review of 4 stars, to now 5 stars. I previously complained about the service. I now get nothing but smiles and happy faces when I go in, so evidently someone took note. Great job guys. You earned that fifth star! =)

I have been getting my seafood from AP for almost 4 years now. The oysters are always incredible and well priced(my Wellfleets, when they have them are usually 77 cents ea.). The guys behind the counter are not the most jovial but they get you in, answer questions, bag it and tag it and have you out the door in no time. Kudos for repaving the lot too! It was much needed!

This place is amazing! You can certainly stock up on quite a bit of very fresh fish. The folks that work there are top rate, local people, who like to stop and chat with you. Certainly some deals can be had here. The produce place is decent– but I certainly endorse the fish market first! The hours are limited– but they are open on weekends.
