This place is AMAZING! First timers get a free yummy carob treat, and all meals over $ 10 come with a fresh coconut. The place is very organic, very earth and very anti capitalist, which could be overwhelming for some. Embrace the naturalistic element and the Suveran is great. I am full to the brim after a veggie crap(crêpe with a difference) and loving life. Great vibes at the Suveran, incredibly positive.

We like the idea behind this restaurant. No sugar and organic. This review is about the restaurant.(there is also a shop next door) First we had a great meal their. They do have meat, but we are vegan. So we had some vegan meals. And some bread. Almost everything is sprouted here. Makes the food very heavy but also very fulfilling. They offer carob snacks. newcomers get these for free. Also the quality of Cocos nuts is very very good. There are many books here that could be classified as conspiracy books by some. Nothing wrong with that. You can pick up your free zeitgeist CD here if you didn’t see yet. The week after when we returned the service was a lot less friendly. I started my order with a pancake, then ordered some more, but we got clear instructions to only order main dishes not deserts for starters. At first I didn’t get, because we where so hungry we where not really thinking in these boxes, just bring it on :) The food was also not as good last week. They guy also seems very passionate about the earlier mentioned books, but he does seem to lecture customers. At least he did both times we where here.

Suveran is a humble health food store and café focused entirely on the well-being of the human being. It is simple and natural food. They have whole coconuts to drink, coconut oil and coconut in most dishes. Yep, they are mad about coconut. And we all should be. It is fantastic for you. It does seem a little strange in that you almost don’t know what things are and if they are for sale or not, as there are no labels screaming at you. This is pared back. Check out their website as it has some fascinating health advice and there’s some good tools to help you decide what you need before you go in. Suveran is a different store that can alienate some people so be prepared for a unique experience.

Walking past this shop for the first time I wasn’t really sure what it was. Most stores nowadays are signposted well and have a light box and window display to lure you into the store. This shop just had a few panes of different coloured glass, most of them darkly coloured or frosted so you couldn’t see inside, a small sign above it that read«suveran» and a sun painted on the lightbox out front. When I poked my head inside, I was surprised to see that the shop was actually a café that served healthy meals and sold ecological and sustainable household products as well as reading material on sustainable ways of living. Unlike many health conscious cafes quick to jump on the band wagon of the health, wellbeing and fitness fad/craze to make a quick buck this store served low cost, inventive dishes with a philosophy that seemed more genuine than your next juice bar who seems more interested in your walled than your health. Some of the dishes here like the Crap(pancake like dish) and smoothie were made with ingredients like millet and chia seeds, licorice root and nigari, things I’ve never seen on the menu before in any other café. The service here was good, although I did feel like I may have been judged or treated slightly different. The fact that I might have been a coles-shopping, fashion conscience consumer, made me feel like I wasn’t treated just like the next customer. When I asked if their free carob treats for first timers was actually ‘free’ I was told«that’s what the sign says isn’t it…», but maybe that’s just me being a little sensitive.
