This is a beautiful park with several playgrounds that are suited to children 5 years old and over. There are a lot of ducks and other birds scattered throughout the parklands. The pathways are all pram friendly and there are Free toilets facilities located on site. I wouldn’t recommend this playground for those with toddlers because there is a large of unfenced pond in the middle of the playground. Another reason I wouldn’t recommend this playground to parents with toddlers is because some of the climbing structures have exposed edges for sliding poles with a 2 meter fall height. The Lycopod Island Playground has a rubber mat base so there is no need to empty the sand from children’s shoes before entering the car.

I think every kid came here when they were little for the playground. And if you didn’t, you missed out! They have upgraded it now to a more modern playground compared to the old wooden one and the island in the middle of the lake is now accessible via a proper bridge instead of the fallen log that we use to straddle across. I sort of remember the wooden playground being a lot more fun and seemed bigger when I was little, but everything did seem larger when you were tiny and the world was so big! There are a couple of cafes/kiosks in this park in particular with inside and outside seating plus there is heaps of bbq’s and grass areas to picnic, play games etc. This park is always extremely busy every weekend and even during the week days but as it is a huge park, you never really miss out on an area to set up. The parking is a bit limited though and you tend to have to park quite a bit up the road. This is an excellent park for kids birthday parties, family outings etc.

Synergy Parklands in Kings Park is a great place for kids and grown ups to explore and relax. On summer there is outdoor cinema, heaps of BBQ areas, lovely café and an awesome elevated walkway/playground. Place is beautiful with wild flowers everywhere and well looked gardens. A must when visiting Kings Park.
