Located behind a rug studio on Newcastle street where coffee is served from a makeshift shed, Babylon café is non fuss hipster sinplicity at its best. Menu items include toasties(there are one to two kinds), veggie stack, sweets, cold pressed juices(3 kinds) and coffee. There is indoor seating in the dark shed or outdoor seating with tables of different sizes, cushions of varying colours, and rickety old looking chairs and couches. With the limited number of options my friend and I got the veggie stack. The veggie stack is like a a gozleme/quesadilla — a tortilla stuffed with mushroom, cheese, spinach leaves, and tomato. For 10 bucks you get one slice. Pretty outrageous cost. Yes the veggie stack which is triple layered with mushroom, tomato, spinach and cheese is delicious but fairly overpriced for the amount you get. For 10 bucks I could get an entire gozleme or quesadilla. The cold pressed juices come out of a bottle so don’t really have the filling ground veggies you get in freshly juiced veggies and fruits; hence, charging the customer 6.5 for a juice out of a 330ml bottle is pretty steep.

Lovely spot, friendly staff and great vegie stack. Also awesome coffee. I hope that with time they expand their menu slightly, but for now great place to go for a coffee, cake or toasted sandwich.

Lovely little quirky café, amazing coffee and attractive and friendly gentleman barista staff :) All the winning and sunshine. I would love to see an expanded menu for lunch — There are counter bites but a salad option or similar would be great for us gluten avoiders. :)

Babylon Café is a gorgeous little café behind The Rug Studio in Leederville. Being tucked away though has its benefits, as when you’re there you don’t feel like you’re in the hustle and bustle of Leederville, but somewhere far away, where you can relax and soak in the atmosphere. As it rained outside, the inside was warm and inviting, and the smell of toasted sandwiches filled the air. I only got a hot chocolate on my first visit, but I guarantee I will be back for more.

Hidden behind a rug store in the heart of Leederville, Babylon café is the perfect place to grab a cup of coffee. I love their rustic wooden furniture and little touches like their Aztec patterned cushions as well as the bright blue front door. Arriving a few minutes early for a meeting, I decided to grab a Chicken Toastie and a small Flat White. The toastie was on a Rye and Sunflower seed bread which was crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside with a generous filling of chicken, sweet mustard pickles, mayonnaise and cheese. The two guys behind the counter were also super friendly!

New addition to the already fantastic Leederville scene — Babylon is located behind the funky rug store on Newcastle street, with rear access to it from Carr Place opposite Sayers. This place is great, the guys have done a great job transforming this previously unused space into a hip café that really compliments the area. The coffee is great — on par with Foam and Sayers, the staff a super friendly and the décor is fun and inviting. If you’re in the area make sure to pop by for a coffee, a chat with the staff and maybe even a rug!

A really cool looking hotel hidden behind the rugs store in Leederville. Try the juices, they’re really nice! The staff are also very friendly!

Exceptional coffee. Seriously, one of Leedy’s best on that front. A little hard to find but worth looking for. It’s in the little shack out the back of the rug store, there will be a sign. Appears to be mainly a coffee place but there are some eats on offer, toasties, treats etc.

So it looks like I’ve found my new favourite spot to hang out at! This dog friendly café has a ton of outside seating, and is dog friendly so your pooch doesn’t have to feel left out when you’re getting your caffeine fix. The menu consists of a few sweet baked goods(brownies, tart, banana bread made by the owner’s mum), a couple of raw desserts(raw balls) and a few savoury options also. There are a few different toasted sandwiches you can get. I opted for the veggie tortilla. The tortilla itself was so so soft, and the veggies were extremely thinly layered, making for a nice little lunch. A range of local Swan Valley cold-press juices are available, the green juice has a real zing to it! The coffee is good also. They have free Wi-Fi, but what is really great about this place is the super warm and friendly staff, very welcoming and so passionate. Try this one out guys, trust me you’ll like it!
