Sayers will always have my heart. Staff are always friendly and food quality is always consistent. Coffee is yummy. Would definitely recommend the tagine(if you like beans!), big breakfast or the rosti in the breakfast menu or the gnocchi in the lunch menu. I do wish they brought back the wild mushrooms on brioche with spinach and poached eggs! That dish was #thebomb! Parking is great in Leederville and there a bunch of cute little shops you can visit to walk off your food baby!

Never tried Sayers before, and after today I would recommend! I like breakfast places that have interesting things on the menu, things you can’t make at home, and Sayers definitely did. It was a struggle to choose what to have but in the end I had the potato rosti dish which was very delicious, very large, and I definitely overate by attempting to finish it. 4 stars only because I compare everything to Gusto and I worship Gusto with a passion. But definitely try it out!

I asked for 2 flat whites no froth. How hard is that? Wasn’t even busy… Chocolate cake did not have enough cream with it. Water is not chilled. This is our second time here. The last time my partners cake had a battery in it that was explained away by being part of the scales? Hmmm overrated place in my opinion. I have read the other reviews and seen people leaving a lot of their cakes… Why would you come here?

Stopped in purely due to the great street appeal. Funky little joint with groovy staff who are super friendly… Without the air of superiority common with Perth cafes. Sat down in the little side alley in comfy arm chairs after ordering 2 flat whites and a Kafir Lime and Coconut Tart. The tart was lovely and obviously home made with love and attention. The coffee was pleasant but I get a little miffed when the cups are so small. A small gripe but one that consumers shouldn’t have. There is enough markup on coffee to still make profit as well as serve a decent size. Anyway… I love the place. It’s was super delish and lovely. AA++. WILLBEBACK!

Sayers is located just off Oxford street in Leederville a small walk from the train station but there is also plenty of street parking available and car parks nearby. This was my third attempt to try Sayers as I had heard so many wonderful things but it had always been full on previous visits with people queueing outside to get a highly coveted table. This time, we arrived around 3 and opted for a late brunch. Although free tables inside, as it was a beautiful spring day we sat outside. Sayers boasts an airy outdoor seating area that caters for large groups and couples. The outdoor areas are decorated with colourful cushions and has a lovely relaxed vibe, perfect for a catch-up or special occasion celebration. I found it hard to walk by the deserts at the counter on my way through to the outdoor area as there are a plethora of amazing delights that cater for everyone’s taste buds. For brunch I chose the pulled pork open sandwich, homemade BBQ sauce, pickled slaw with gluten free bread and my sister opted for the poached eggs, bacon, avocado, mushroom and ciabatta. The pulled pork was divine as was the pickled slaw, although a generous portion I was so hungry I would have eaten it twice over. I was really happy with my selection although the gluten free bread was a little lacking in size. The dish was presented beautifully, packed with flavour, full of colour and topped with crunchy sweet potato chips that added a sculptural element to the dish. For dessert, I chose the lime cake on a bed of coconut. The lime filling was delicious, I found there was too much coconut and would have preferred less as its texture was harsh compared to the soft mouth tingling lime centre. The tea arrived in the cutest teapot made from fresh tea leaves and I would highly recommend visiting this venue.

I went here for brunch with a friend on a Sunday. Despite the queue I was seated within 5 minutes. I has the toasted brioche with truffle wilted do inch and poached eggs. This place never disappoints. The food was delicious. Service quick. And price reasonable

Sayers is a staple when it comes to breakfast in Perth. My best friend and I are there practically every second weekend, getting our fix of their freshly squeezed orange juice and their dreamy eggs. I stopped by today and had the truffled mushrooms with brioche, wilted spinach and poached eggs(though I swapped them for scrambled — it felt like that kind of weather). The dish was so yummy and hearty, made even better by my side of hollandaise!

Sayers you’ve done it again. I’ll put my hand up and say this is the breakfast café/restaurant in perth. If you’re looking for fresh, unique, locally sourced and scrumptious food. This is your place. If you haven’t heard of it, or you haven’t been here. You need to get some Sayers in your life. I had the salted beef croquettes for breakfast with fried eggs– this was sensational. All the good is good. And it’s so nice to go somewhere that you know is going to produce food of a high quality that’s still tasty. At $ 18.50 for breakfast you cannot go wrong. And did I mention this has some of the best coffee I’ve had! Thank you Sayers for keeping fresh tasty food affordable and delicious every single time.

I love this place, love the ambience, love the coffee and haven’t had a bad breakfast here ever. I am a fan of the feta scramble with salmon but the saffron custard doughnuts are awesome too … Haven’t even gotten to the ricotta crepes. Food is great, can get busy but generally service is really good and everything comes out timely. This is def’ly my fav breakfast spot!

I popped in last weekend with a friend of mine for a coffee and ended up having to order lunch because this solid menu. I had the salted beef croquettes with a poached egg with ciabatta and relish and it was delicious and well priced for $ 18. The reason I won’t give it a 5 stars is that this place can get pretty hustley and bustley and crowded and you do have to fetch your own water which I am not too keen on. Overall though Sayers is a winner in the breakfast scene in Perth and I find it hard to turn away such tasty delights.

I’d past Sayers a couple of times and there has always been a crowd so I dropped by for an early lunch to make sure I could grab a seat when I visited. There are a range of tables set out in the indoor section, a couple of larger tables towards the counter and pretty standard sized ones around the edge with a large counter in the centre, a perfect place to sit if you are flying solo and don’t wish to take up a whole table. There is ‘outdoor’ seating out the front of the shop which has a weather protection kind of set up so you don’t get hindered by the elements too much. I went with the risotto which came out looking like a true work of art, unfortunately I was very hungry so it did not stay that way for long and was delicious from the first bite to the last. Excellent shop layout with the yummy cakes staring you right in the eye at the front counter, very hard to pass up but worth a try if you are stopping by for coffee and cake. The use of the large mirror to give the illusion of extra space in the café is well done. Excellent service all round

Best coffee I’ve had in a long time — perfect temperature, nice and strong. I had the organic fruit and nut toast with butter and jam. Very tasty! The toast was lovely and dense — choc full of fruit and nutty goodness. The chocolate and banana bread with maple butter(which my better half ordered) looked to die for — definitely coming back to sample that! The service was friendly and efficient, even though it was getting busy — they have quite a trade on Sundays, especially given the new farmer’s markets that popped up across the road. Delightful! Will be back for more…

Sayers is somewhere I would gladly recommend to friends and it’s usually the first place that pops in my head when I’m thinking lunch in Leedy. It gets pretty busy! But I like to see how they try cram as much seating into the area as possible, but still maintaining a spacious venue. I ordered the seared tuna on a bed of potato, spinach, chorizo and some butter and hollandaise sauce. YUMMO! It all tasted amazing together and I definitely was full! Although I would’ve preferred my tuna a little less cooked. Seared tuna should have the flesh still ruby red in the middle and raw in my opinion. But I still enjoyed it! My friends demolished her gnocchi– it was really really appetising and well made I’ll admit! The coffee we were served was spot on! I don’t think I have ever heard a bad word about their coffee here! Staff could look a little more friendlier and keen to serve in my opinion. The waitress at the counter just seemed a little too disinterested in her job and it brought the whole vibe down. I’ll be back though Sayers! You’ve made a regular of me! :)

I came to Sayers with my brother for brekky on a recommendation from a fellow classmate. Obviously this being our first time, we didn’t know what to expect. Plus I didn’t want my honesty affecting my friendship with my fellow classmate, if the food and dining experience turned out to be really repulsive and vile LOL: D Thankfully, at least one of us got edible food, unfortunately, it wasn’t me. The first thing that we noticed was the crowd at Sayers. I guess this is a good thing, to a certain extent. At least whatever they’re doing, they must being doing a good job at it, or the place I’d assume would be empty. Poor assumption! The staff could’ve been definitely more welcoming and courteous, especially how much money your dropping on brekky. Maybe our server was just having a really crappy day, but no need to pass that attitude off to the customers. A bit more professionalism would’ve been appreciated. I’m just glad our server didn’t cook our brekky(I might want to reconsider that comment, after what I was served). For breakfast I decided to go with the spicy Italian sausage, scrambled eggs, spinach, and ciabata bread. The sausage was not as spicy as I would have liked. I definitely wish it was more spicy. The flavour was definitely lacking as well. The scrambled eggs, well they’re scrambled eggs, pretty hard to muck up scrambled eggs. The spinach was cooked, I’ll leave it at that. However, the ciabata was alright, a wee bit on the stale side. I realise it’s ciabata, but I don’t want to break a tooth, bitting into it. On a positive note, my brother really enjoyed his brekky. He ordered the smoked salmon, with scrambled eggs with feta cheese, and asparagus. I actually tried his salmon, it was certainly delish, very moist and prepared perfectly. At least one of us got some good brekky. Maybe I just ordered the wrong breakfast item? But logically thinking, there shouldn’t be a bad choice for any food in the restaurant to begin with. I reckon all the menu items should be good, prepared and cooked properly, if not, it shouldn’t be on the menu to begin with. I’ll certainly give Sayers another chance, but maybe on a weekday, when it’s not so chaotic and maybe the service will be better.

They do say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, I personally feel like it’s the essence to how you’re day will turn out, I love the food at Sayer’s it’s fresh and always comes out hot. It’s extremely busy which is also a positive it means that they’re doing something right, but the hectic vibe and the time management of the place is not an exciting to start to my mornings. I will continue to go back there because they’re food/coffee/staff are 100% on point — just time management isn’t great. Go early on a Saturday/Sunday morning! 10⁄10 yum!

Yeah hmmmm. Lovely décor. Beautiful crowd. Great food. Downsides. Packed in like a sardine. Horrible generic music. Probably too loud for the vibe this venue tries to cultivate. High prices considering no table service. $ 5 Corkage charged despite no wine glasses being offered and no table service no ice bucket(weird). Sorry but those who rate this place 4 or 5 stars need to get out more. However, the antipasto and the ragu were outstanding; I would go back for the ragu anyway.

I’ve recently moved to Perth and a number of locals have raved about the breakfast/brunch at Sayers and I’m so happy that the food lived up to expectations. I had the smoked cod croquette which was absolutely delicious. The smoked cod didn’t overwhelm the dish but was present throughout. I loved how there were sweet bursts of corn in the dish as well. The portions were generous too wish helps curb the Saturday or Sunday hangover! My friend had the potato rosti which she polished off very nicely as well. I also liked how my English Breakfast tea came in a mismatched cup and pot, was a nice quirky twist. Oh and if you want to avoid the line, get there at around 8.30am :)
