This is a very cute café on queen street with loads of outdoor seating and nice trees. It is such a pleasant place to sit. And their coffee is pretty good. I have been a couple of times with my gluten free friend and she is a big fan of their almond milk latte — apparently it is very tough to find a good almond latte in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs! Anyway the big issue here is the service. I think I’ve been three times and every time there has been a huge delay with something and errors made. They’re pretty nice about it but they don’t fix it and don’t give you any kind of reduced bill. A real shame for a good location that serves a good latte! Stopped in for a weekday brekkie while running an errand in the area. This is a French feeling café, but if you’ve ever been to France you know that coffee is not their strong suit, however the coffee here was really good and served beautifully. We sat street side and watched the world go by. I had chorizo & baked bean ragout on sourdough with poached eggs — yum and perfectly portioned.($ 16) Fresh juice — banana & orange was good too and not smothered in ice. Service was prompt and friendly, just note that it is ***cash only****

Service is bad but the food and drink were fantastic. I got the salmon sandwich and had to substitute the usualy brioche with multigrain because they ran out of brioche(bummer). I also got 2 Pink Ladys(watermelon & mint) — so refreshing & tasty! The waiter came way too soon after I got seated, making me feel rushed to order. Then she never came back later, so I felt like I was bothering her. Seating is outdoor only but it’s cute, and also right next to a flower shop that adds to the atmosphere. It also is a prime location for soaking in the sun. They also have umbrellas to shade you if you prefer to block the sun. Cash only but there are two ATMs(WestPac & generic) across the street.

Both had the Croque Madame … arrived on a wood block. Too much bread for me … no butter! Very tasty though and great coffee. Toby’s Estate.
