First time being here at Angles and Taka was amazing! Coming from Vancouver where there’s Japanese hair stylists everywhere, I was so happy to find a Japanese stylist here in Calgary. Taka is experienced in Tokyo and New York with a great attention to detail. He will talk to you about what kind of style you are looking for and how you style it on a regular basis. He made sure I had a style where I was able to straighten and curl it easily as I like to switch it up often. Definitely recommend Taka if you are looking for someone who has experience with Asian hair!

Good full face threading is hard to come by. So happy to have met Eena at their downtown location. She is very precise, takes her time, and does not cut you with the thread. I have found my new threader!

I had a keratin straightening treatment done here about a month ago and I am very disappointed with the results.
Some background — I’m a Vancouver transplant to Calgary and I have been getting the Brazilian Blowout and Kerastraight straightening treatments for years so I know what results to expect. This was the worst ever — it looked and felt great when I left the salon but as soon as I washed it at home, it was back to exactly how it was before the treatment — it provided absolutely no smoothing or straightening of my hair (I have relatively thick sort of wavy/​little bit fuzzy hair).
Absolutely not worth the $ 315 + $ 60 tip. The staff were nice enough and the salon is very clean etc. but I really don’t care about that when the service provided turned out to be crap. I had actually booked a colour with the stylist that did the treatment but I cancelled after realizing what a dud the keratin straightening turned out to be.

I’ve now given up on finding a Calgary salon to do my straightening and will be going back to Vancouver for it from now on.

Okay i am very picky when it comes to stylists… I still fly to SF, California to get my cut and highlights at every chance. My friend told me about Jason at this location. She is a Cali girl like me with Kim Kardashian hair. I took my daughter who has that exact Selena Gomez cut and Jason did an amazing job. Then i took my teenage son who has very thick straight asian hair and he did a fantastic job also… Not leaving it look like a bowl sticking up! (And we have tried more then 5 different places for him). He is definitely worth the $$$. Very cool and edgy guy with rockin style.
