My goodness, this location was super lined up when I went here to take advantage of a free tea on my DavidsTea loyalty card. I was surprised at how lined up the store was, in particular given that there is no seating area within this tea shop location. I did like the fact that their staff were sampling a newer type of tea for us and the fact that I was able to say«surprise me» with regards to many of the aspects of the tea I ordered. It was a good tea in the end although I did have to wait a rather long while to get it, especially seeing as it was my personal reward for having finally finished shopping for the things I was seeking out at the mall. The staff members are pretty friendly and very knowledgeable about tea which made this experience much better than it could have been otherwise given the wait.

Busy little location, came in only for tea lattes to go and the cashier was deplorably rude. She snapped at us about the drink maker having the tea tin with the sku on it. She waved her hand rudely at us and walked away to get the code while she was mid sentence. This is not acceptable, and I used to be a Starbucks barista, I know busy and I know staffing issues. We were being completely polite and normal, major fail location!

I often see a line up in David’s Tea no matter what time of the day it is! I received a Valentine’s card for a free tea and a tea would be perfect to warm me up. There was a family and single in front of me, but with 3 staff working, it moved quickly. I never know what tea I want until I talk with the staff member. This time I wanted an oolong tea and the long life oolong was recommended to me. I love how they open the tin and I can smell the the tea. I’m not big on fruity teas but this one had a fragrant mix of peach, apricot, orange, and almonds and I decided to try it. The wait to get my tea took about 5 minutes but the staff person making them was doing her best to make them quickly. The tea was really good and didn’t need any sweetener. The fruit taste wasn’t overwhelming and the serving size lasted me a long time to drink. They have a frequent steeper club that you can sign up on their website. Will be back to try a new tea!

First of all I would to say thank you to the lady at front. I always keep looking with the store every time I go shopping at mall but doesn’t have time to ask since I wasn’t sure what exactly I have to ask for. I’d love tea don’t get me wrong but this loose teas wasn’t sure what was different in the tea bag that I always use. so I decided to give a shot and yes I’d love it I bought 3 different types of flavour Read my lips, chocolate macaroons and kiwi’s big adventure. I’d love the smell its just need to experiment how much scoop I have to use since I follow the label its kind a strong for me but I just added hot water. I’m having the read my lips right now at work and I love it.

Love love LOVE David’s Tea! I just recently went in for the very first time and I am now completely addicted! The staff at this location are friendly and extremely helpful, and I have gone back more than once in the last month to try more teas. I will be a long time customer!

My New Years resolution was to quit coffee as I can’t drink it without milk and sugar. I know nothing about tea and went into Davids Tea completely ignorant about loose tea. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and didn’t make me feel stupid for asking what were probably very dumb questions. I wound up spending over $ 100 on tea and mugs and do not regret it at all. All of the tea I bought is so delicious I can drink it without any milk or sugar. My only criticism is that the tea is pretty expensive. A lot of it is organic and it is amazing so I can understand the price but it is still pretty steep.

I can’t say anything negative about this place. It has the best selection of tea’s I’ve seen. The Staff is so helpful and friendly. It smells awesome! The price’s are fair. Even the location in the mall is pretty good. My only one small gripe is there’s no place to sit to enjoy your tea but I guess it’s not hard to sip your tea while shopping so I don’t mind.

Recently I went with a friend to DavidsTea in West Edmonton Mall. She wanted to get some teas for her new tea cup she got as a holiday gift. At this time I was snobbish, never wanting anything but my Red Rose with sugar and milk. I decided to show some interest in the teas they had, really it is very impressive, a whole wall full of canisters holding teas I never thought existed. The lady at the counter ask me how she could help me and at first I was embarrassed, what do I ask for? I knew nothing about teas and not only that but these teas where all loose teas. I blushed lightly and told her that I really did not know, that I was a Red Rose gal and drank nothing else. Thank goodness she was so amazing, all she did was smile sweetly and ask me if I liked black teas, herbal and so on. That was something I did know, I love black teas, after all that’s what Red Rose is, maybe this wasn’t so hard. I told her I didn’t like herbals. That I had yet to find one I liked. I went on further to tell her I enjoy tea with a little sugar and milk. Becoming very serious she asked me if I had any allergies, this threw me off guard, why would they ask this? Because they have such a large selection of teas they keep allergies very much at mind. I was so impressed as I have a weird and as far as I know, some what rare allergy to cinnamon. Off she went, grabbing this canister and that canister, when she was done I think she carried over, at once, 7 canisters of teas. What followed is not what you would expect, she told me the tea name and its ingredients and opened a compartment on the top. It was a rather shallow compartment with maybe 2 – 3 table spoons of tea. Awkwardly I stared at her, I mean it looked nice but I didn’t know why she was showing me. Thankfully she told me to go ahead and take a sniff. A sniff? What kind of place was this? Shrugging I decided, what the heck why not? Oh the smells! Some of them I didn’t like, others I wanted to marry on the spot! What an amazing experience it was. Never in all my life had I ever done something like this and I didn’t want it to end. Sadly all good things come to an end and I had to make up my mind, what tea did I want. I decided on two, Fantasy Island and La La Lemon. I am so glad I went and will be going again soon.

I used to hang out here like 4 times a week until about this time last year. When I got back from holidays in January 2012, they had new artificially flavoured teas! Plus, I hadn’t felt welcome since about the time I stopped going there before the holidays. Now I only go very occasionally; mostly only to buy more Citron Oolong.

Best loose leaf tea I’ve ever tasted. I own more than 80 teas from them. Not only can you buy tea but you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea as well. Recommend anyone who enjoys tea(or even if you don’t!) to at least stop in and check it out. You’ll get addicted quick!

I love the service at this place. One time that really stands out to me is when I decided to put together a personalized wwedding gift by choosing several different love-themed teas, and combining with other items. I was in line at the Roger’s across from David’s, and was painfully keeping my eye on the time. When I finished up at Roger’s, it was about 5min to mall closing time. I ran into David’s and asked if they still had time to help me with my wedding gift project. The sales associates assured me «of course we do!», then without any of the subtle(and not-so-subtle) hints that employees want you to leave, helped me to choose a unique tea combo, as well as brainstorm other ideas for my gift. Needless to say, I was impressed! Other things I like about David’s: seasonal rollouts presented in a «tea menu» with each change, a range of tea-related products(although I still haven’t been able to justify buying one of those kettles that boils at the various temps ideal for brewing different leaves), its website(aesthetically sound and easy to use), its Canadian roots, and the consistency between stores(service at stores from coast-to-coast has been great — the only exception for me was Banff, but every other store has been fab, so I’m still giving the Southgate Store and company in general 5 stars).

As a seasoned tea aficionado, David’s Tea is a staple shop for me in WEM. With an entire wall of loose teas to choose from and the other wall adorned in beautiful things to make it in, they have the storefront that many tea shops desire. Could be improved with more of a seating area, but with space constraints in the little«store diorama parcel» that WEM tenants get, it’s understandable that there are only one or two little tables against the back wall. But with friendly staff and tea that smells like carnival mini donuts when dry(Forever Nuts, for the record), I’ll get over having to leave once I grab my freshly steeped cup. I know a lot of people who have transformed into loose tea buying addicts because of the selection at David’s. They walk in because it looks neat, and walk out with mesh steeping balls, glass walled travel mugs, and a plethora of dried leaves packed into bags or nifty tins before they even know what hit them.

Over the Christmas break I innocently walked into DavidsTea as I was perusing through the mall. This was a big mistake. I have become an addict. I can’t stop. It started out small. I purchased one of their little tea sampler packs — The Best of 2011, which was a sixpack of teas that featured the teas voted the BEST by tea lovers. I sniffed some samples, I bought some fun suggestions, and then I went home and proceeded to consume cup after cup after cup. It was madness. I sipped, I relaxed, I enjoyed, I peed ten thousand times, repeat, repeat, repeat. Let me discolose that I was already a tea-lover before I discovered DavidsTea — but I had never understood the hype, and therefore had never tried it until now. The thing that makes DavidsTea different is their special blends of teas. They work hard to collect the greatest ingredients for their teas and even handpick some of their ingredients straight out of Canada(they are a Canadian company!). They have traditional teas and then crazy fun herbals that contain fun ingredients like dried fruit, sweets, nuts, grains, spices, chocolate, flowers, etc etc. I know it sounds weird, but it’s absolutely wonderful. The variety of teas that is available is enough to please anybody. Tea is sold loose and priced by weight. I found that I could ask them to give me about 20 – 30 grams of tea(they come in convenient little ziplocked packages with full-discolsure descriptive labels) and it only cost me a few dollars for around 10+ cups of tea. You can put the tea in convenient, biodegradable teabags that you fill yourself(box of 100 for $ 8, or you can buy a smaller pack for less) or you can put the tea in any reusable metal infuser. If you buy 100g of tea, they give you a free metal tea can to put it in, which prolongs the tea’s freshness and looks pretty on your counter. I definitely recommend DavidsTea for any tea lover, anybody tea-curious, anybody tea-skeptical(try a fruit-herbal, it’s a great ‘starter’ tea!!) or for anybody looking for a cute little affordable gift for Mum/Auntie/BFF/Co-Workers/Neighbors/ETC. The sales associates at DavidsTea are very friendly — I love to go in and just simply ask them what their favorite tea is — they will immediately gather up some canisters off the wall for your sniffing pleasure. It’s a very fun, unique experience and the teas are absolutely delicious. Just go in, check out the flavors, smell a few, try a few. I dare you. It’s amazing. You’ll love it.

Four stars for four words: Cream of Earl Grey. It’s honestly the best earl grey tea that I’ve had. Even if they didn’t have this tea, I would still give David’s tea four stars though because they have great service, and such interesting teas. I love going through and smelling all the different kinds, and the sales people are always so eager to explain and recommend. My one disappointment is that the teas often smell better than they taste, but that may just be how tea is. I’m not so seasoned a tea drinker as to know yet.

Keep in mind that the majority of the teas sold here are flavoured. To be honest, I’m not into flavoured teas much but they do have some other nice blends that I’ve enjoyed. The best thing about this place is the customer service: it’s friendly, helpful and you can literally ask them to take every tea off the shelf to smell and they will let you(at least Katie will). They’ll also let you taste a tea you’re interested in. Yay customer service! OK for quality tea. Not really for those who are looking for rare or single-origin teas.

I had NO idea this place was there until I found myself outside of Club Monaco in West Ed and it caught my eye. Davids offers all kinds of tea… black, green, oolong, Yerba Mate, Roobis, etc. They also have a wide selection of cups with built in loose tea infusers as well as teapots of various shapes and sizes. I picked up a wedding present here which included two cups and some«Love Tea». Their loose tea is very reasonable in price and will go a long way. Look for the free samples of ready made tea when you walk in!

DavidsTea does not look like a tea shop. I walked by and thought it was an optometrist stop or something. The place is completely white, with white lights and flooring. It looks completely urban and pretty cool. They offer all types of teas here and the walls are lined with them. Different types of black tea, green tea, herbal tea, Oolong tea, a bunch of other tea’s I have never heard of and tea accessories, gifts and kits. Tea lovers will love this store.
