If you are looking to over pay for amature work then go here! I paid over $ 300 and my tattoo is alrady super faded (after 1 month) and looks like crap!
The company wont do anything about it.

A fun, clean, and easy place to walk in and get your first tattoo.

We had a great experience at Dragon FX in West Edmonton Mall. My wife got a small tattoo on her forearm just with some text.
We had Sarah as our tattoo artist and she was fantastic. She came recommended for any kind of text or writing. She also does great work for larger artwork.
The facility is really clean and bright and puts first time tattooers at ease. It’s also really nice that they do a less expensive touch up for you 6 months down the road to make sure it keeps looking great. She even touched up an earlier tattoo of hers at the same time so we got the most value out of the appointment! So impressed with the customer service.
They also do piercings and have a selection of really nice jewelry on display out front.

I found this place on a trip to WEM and was pleased to see they sell BVLA jewelry. I had the peircing previously done but didn’t know my ring size. One of the piercers was quickly able to determine my size and put in a new ring for me (BVLA14k rose gold seamless ring). After I left I noticed that it had been damaged by the pliers. As I understand this is not uncommon with softer metal jewelry. In my case it was made further challenging due to the fact my peircing is so high up in my nose, making it hard to put in without slipping. I emailed management about my concern. They got back to me immediately and asked me to come in and they would switch it out, which I did. I really appreciated the prompt and excellent customer service.

If not for really bad customer service, this place would maybe be half decent. Every one seems narcissistic, emo, unkind, and fake. They are rude and seem like they do not want to be there or keep customers happy. I went in for a simple insert, told I would be seen in 5 minutes and an hour later, the girl says oh there was someone before me and the previous appointment took longer than expected (excuses). If you have no life, go here. They do not value your time and communication is bleak. I will never go to another one of these DFX stores again. Thanks for wasting my evening after work.

I would not recommend dragon FX as your first choice for tattoos and piercings. I’ve had both done and they have both been awful experiences for me. I decided to get my 4^th tattoo done here in memory of my dogs that passed away. Yes the shop is clean and the artist was nice but I could tell she was very new at it. She was shaking the entire time. Which had me very skeptical. But then a few months later my tattoo became extremely itchy and was not healing normally. I went to another tattoo shop and the artist said the girl was pushing too hard into my skin and the ink went too deep. I have tried many things to help with the dry itchy tattoo and still to this day (almost a year later) it is not fully healed.
And with my piercing that I recently had done. I have never dealt with such a rude and mean person before. I was getting my belly pierced for the second time. I had it pierced 3 – 4 years ago, and I had to take it out when I was in the hospital getting tests done (i had just gotten it pierced) she asked me why I took it out in the first place in a pretty snarky attitude. And then she made me fill out the forms and wait. Then she brought me back to the room and asked me to lift my shirt up and put my hands by my side and relax (the usual routine) then she looked at me and told me she wasn’t going to recommend me get this piercing because when I sit down you won’t even see my belly button (which in my books she was calling me chubby and saying it won’t look good, just for the record I’m 5’3, 120lbs
And I am very active. I’m pretty sure a lot of people have a bit of an over hang when they sit down. And she wasn’t a twig either.) so I ignored her comment and told her I would still like to have it pierced. She told me it probably won’t heal, and if it does it will take 8 – 9 months. I stayed with my previous comment and got it pierced. I was polite and said thank you and still gave her a tip. When I paid she didn’t include the healing spray and I asked her if I could buy the spray as well. And she told me it would be pointless because my piercing isn’t going to heal. I bought my spray and left. I went to another shop after ward and had someone look at my piercing and they cleaned it and said they don’t see anything wrong that could effect the healing process. I don’t know why that girl had to be so rude and mean. Definitely ruined my day when i just got myself new body jewelry!

While Dragon FX sometimes gets a bad rap in the tattoo piercing world. My experience there was good. I received my first tattoo from an artist that is no longer there but she was great an answered all my questions and made me feel totally comfortable. The shop is clean and they are strict about hygiene (no other shop has made me wash my hands before getting tattooed). A lot of great artists got their start at Dragon FX and I don’t think people realize that so like with all tattoos do your homework on the artist before hand.

I obtained two piercings here and will not be returning.
I was impressed by the cleanliness and staff attitude when I went here both times, but the piercing results were less than desirable. My first piercing here was a helix in my left ear. I did not touch or play with the piercing in any way shape or form after it was done. (I’d had piercings before this one and was well-​researched as far as general body modifications go before going to this studio.) My ear was swollen and purple in color by the end of the night. After a few days, the state had not changed. I saw my doctor and well, you can guess that it was infected!
I gave them another chance, thinking maybe I did something I wasn’t aware of to cause the infection. This time, I got my daith bridge pierced (on the same ear). This was months after the helix was done, but somehow during the piercing procedure they managed to irritate the helix enough that it swelled up pretty badly. It had not swelled up like that at any point during the healing (post-​antibiotics). The daith bridge was well-​positioned and looked good. However, a year later, it was still bleeding, and had developed a hypertrophic scar. I went to another piercing studio and they commented that the diameter of the jewelry was much to small for the area. I changed the jewelry, and within two weeks the bleeding stopped. Soon afterwards the scar went away as well, and it healed up very nicely after that. I have had piercings since then at a different studio without complication.
Based on these two experiences, I just can’t trust this studio.

I wouldn’t recommend this studio. While it is clean and professional, the piercers only seem to know half of what they’re doing.
My younger sister went and got her nose pierced here, and while initially the piercing was good, they used a nostril screw, which is a bad piece of jewellery to use. Screws notoriously stretch and tear the skin giving it a higher risk of infection and migration. My sister had to permanently remover her nostril piercing because of this.
I got my helix pierced here. However, the jewellery they used was a ring and not a stud. Helix piercings should be pierced with a stud to prevent rubbing and irritation which can lead to infections and hypertrophic scars. But I was younger and I didn’t know. The piercing initially went well. However, it quickly got infected (if I rolled over in my sleep, the ring would rub and get irritated… or when I brushed my hair or if I was at the hair dresser, my ring would constantly get caught). It also began forming a red bumb (hypertrophic scar). I went back to get it checked out, they said it was fine, and I just needed to place the piercing under warm water more often. While warm water temporarily soothed the piercing, it did nothing to help.
I eventually removed it because a little over a year after I had gotten it done, it still wasn’t fully healed or getting better. I went to Strange City, and showed them. They shook their heads and told me stories about how many Dragon FX botches they fix.
I also had a few friends get tattoos at Dragon FX. All were poorly done (sloppy, bad art, etc), and all have gotten them fixed at better tattoo shops.
I think Dragon FX is a great place to get pierced if you’re wanting just your lobes, anything beyond that, I would go to a more experienced studio who has the knowledge to do so. I think most people go to Dragon FX are young, who don’t know better, and just like the convenience of it being in the mall.

I got my first tattoo here.
I went with a friend and we were both nervous. Our tattoo artist let us stay with each other in the room (they have private rooms which is nice because most places are pretty open) for support.
He talked each of us through everything and it went really well.
My friend got really light headed after her tattoo was done so he laid her down and got her some water. He kept an eye on her and stayed with us until she was feeling better. It was nice.
The place is clean and professional. It’s probably the best known tattoo shop in Edmonton so it should be.
I had a good experience here.

Dragon FX is a pretty fancy place to get a piercing or tattoo. It’s certainly not like getting pierced at Claire’s by a 16 year old or in a seedy shop by a toothless guy with a needle and a potato. It’s spacious and nicely decorated. They have a nice selection of jewelry, including wood and bone pieces.
I got a standard ear lobe piercing. I had to wait a little longer than they said, but the whole process was fairly quick. Everything was very clean and I saw the needles still in the package before they took them out. The piercing service wasn’t expensive, but the jewelry was. My earrings were $ 45 each, but they only had 2 colours to chose from that day.
Overall, I was happy with my experience and my piercing hasn’t given me any problems. I would definitely go back!
Edit: I’ve changed my rating from 4 stars to 2 stars. I spoke too soon about not having any problems with my piercing… about 5 or 6 months after my piercing, I developed a cyst on one ear lobe and a keloid on the other. I thought it was due to my skin or how I was taking care of it, but I’ve gotten another lobe piercing in a different shop since, which has healed perfectly. I do appreciate the convenience of their Simple Care after care spray, though.
