Great store for finding a variety of brands that more upscale(and better fitting) than places like Payless — they’ve even got Josef Seibel, Ekko, Clarks, Merrills — so if you suffer sore feet from cheaper, unsupportive shoes, this is the place to explore. I even found the newest Sketchers and need to return when I have time to try on LOTS of possibilities :-) They also have mens and children’s, again a good selection. There are usually plenty of sale items if you’re trying for the thriftiest bargains. If you can’t find your size, they’ll order them up for you, which is always helpful, and there’s a good return policy. Give them a try!

The Shoe Company is probably the best place around here to find reputable shoes like Clarks, Josef Siebel, etc. for those of us needing shoes to fit orthotics or even runners. They have a great return policy. Even if you’ve worn them and find out they’re not a good match for your feet, bring them back in the first 30 days no problem or later if you are polite and smile really nice :-) I think every single one of my receipts from here has come with that sticker survey for $ 10 off my next purchase. They frequently don’t have my size(9.5÷10) but are always willing to check the computer and phone around to put a pair on hold for me if need be. The Designer Shoe Warehouse is a sister company to The Shoe Company and they are supposed to be arriving here soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

I am not a huge fan of The Shoe Company. I do admit that they do carry nice styles, but most of the time I find the quality of shoes to be too poor. However, recently Shoe Company saved my and my husband’s lives when we were desperate to buy him winter boots. Having a picky husband has its benefits but not when it comes to shoe shopping. My significant other vetoed almost all shoes in all Edmonton stores, and was refusing to settle on anything less than comfortable, good looking boots made in Europe. He also set a price limit. The goal seemed impossible to achieve until we came into Shoe Company, and checked their sales section of men’s footwear. Close inspection revealed that most of the shoes sold here are made in China, with occasional pairs made in India, Romania and Italy. Some of the brands are Timberland, Helly Hansen, Hush Puppies and Rockport. After spending what seemed like countless hours, we chose a pair of Rockport winter boots. Task accomplished! The selection of women’s footwear at Shoe Company is ample. Any time of year there are sandals, flats, pumps and boots. There is also a nice selection of athletic footwear. For me, it takes time and multiple visits to find reasonably priced European shoes in my size, but I persist. One of my favorite brands sold at Shoe Company is Franco Sarto. I can buy his shoes without trying them on, as I know they will fit me perfectly. On one of my recent visits, I purchased Hunter rain boots on sale. The Shoe Company is definitely worth checking out if you are willing to spend a good amount of time finding good quality shoes at a sensible price.

The Shoe Company is probably the best discount shoe store I’ve been to. I find that the shoes here are trendier and classier than Payless, and the brands are better too. I’ve seen some higher-end brands like Ecco, Geox, J Lo, Nine West, Chinese Laundry, and Lacoste. The prices are fairly decent, especially during a sale, which they seem to have going on at all times. You can find Converse All Stars here. Usually, they are the most basic colours like black, but once I saw some lime green. They were cool, if you like crazy colours. At the back of the store, there is the Large Shoe Shop. This is where they have bigger shoes for women sized 11+. I’ve hardly ever found any size 11.5 or 12, but often the size 11 shoes will fit a half size bigger. This happened to my once, and I ended up getting a really cute pair of brown mary janes. I was so happy. The store is huge, and there’s also some great clothes, purses, and backpacks. I also love that you can collect Airmiles here too!

The Shoe Company has what it says right on the front of the store: Nice Shoes for Less. It’s possible to buy multiple pairs of shoes here and get home realizing you have a problem, because the shoes here are so affordable. I’m pretty sure they have both men and women’s shoes, although I’ve only paid attention to the women’s section here, which is most of the store. I bought my favorite pair of ballet flats here for around $ 20. They were the last pair but a bit scuffed from being tried on so many times I guess, so I bargained for a further discount, and they gave me 15% off, which was even better. Their prices here are usually better than decent, but look for the shoes on sale, and you’ll find yourself a bargain. They’ve got a nice selection of women’s boots too. They offer a stamp card discount for customers who stay loyal and buy shoes a lot. Warning: you may become a real shoe addict. They also have kids’ shoes, a large handbag collection, and some casual women’s clothing and outerwear. The shoes though, are the best part about this store.
