DoubleTree Fallsview Resort & Spa by Hilton

It’s a really good place to stay overnight. When we checked in at the front desk. They gave us cookies to greet us which is really nice! Warms my heart right away! And the room is really clean and the view is really nice! I can see the Clifton hill through my window.

this hotel does not live up to its star rating. it is old and out-​dated.
i entered the room at 9pm and it wasn’t even cleaned properly. the staff at front desk were socializing and made me wait. they gave us some tasty chocolate walnut cookies. the hotel did not have nor did they provide any water bottles. i called the front desk and the agent told me to go from floor to floor to check the vending machines, which were all sold out.
the hotel spa is closed one day a week, so you can’t get any service which is odd for a hotel and spa that it isn’t a hotel and spa everyday just on weekends.
i wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed at this hotel a number of times and each time, I sleep really, really well. Is it ironic that I sometimes dream about sleeping that well again?
The location is good — not far from the falls or shopping. The lobby is lovely, and the desk staff are friendly and helpful. (I asked for extra shampoo and got two handfuls of little bottles.)
We visit Niagara Falls to see the attractions — generally, that means that my hotel is secondary to the attractions and restaurants, but not here. There’s something about this place that just suit me to a T. My daughter says the same thing. It’s clean, cozy and comfortable. They give you warm cookies at night. And the best part is the way you’ll sleep.
Whether it’s the mattresses and bedding, or the lighting and soft white noise, I don’t know, but wow, does it ever feel good to sleep here.

From the moment you check in and receive your warm chocolate chip cookie to the heat floors on the indoor pool deck you know you’re in for a treat. They truly sweat the details at Double Tree Niagara Falls. The location of this hotel and spa is perfect for any Niagara Falls tourist. Clean, reasonably priced and excellent guest service. The in house restaurant had a wonderful breakfast buffet and the family enjoyed the nice pool and hot tub area. Will definitely visit again.

This hotel was very clean. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I was on the 18^th floor and had an excellent view of the American falls. From this hotel you are an enjoyable walk from either casino. Parking here was $ 12. A parking fee is typical in Niagara and this hotel had one of the best rates. The wifi here was free and which was not the case for the other hotels in the area that I looked at. The free wifi was also reasonably fast. I had one of the rooms with the fantastic tub which I enjoyed. But that does mean the separate shower is quite small. The staff cleaned the rooms promptly and were very polite. I also enjoyed the lobby atmosphere. The coffee shop, mentioned in other reviews, served Starbucks coffee. The gift shop was run by a friendly knowledgeable staff that was quite helpful too. Overall, you can’t go wrong with this hotel.

I would like to start my review by stating that the hotel was very clean and the fallsview was, indeed, a gorgeous view of the falls.
My husband and I stayed here October 24 – 30 to celebrate our honeymoon. We usually stay in more economic hotels on our travels, but since this was a bigger trip in our lives, we decided to splurge on the Doubletree by Hilton.
Why 2 stars?
The hotel staff– from the moment we arrived– was not at all hospitable. There were a lot of forced smiles and I don’t fee like anybody was going above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Any time we called with an issue (which was at least once a day), nobody seemed too concerned.
We booked our stay, as stated, for 4 days. On 3 of those days there was at least one instance where our room key did not work (an embarrassing and inconvenient situation!)where we would call or visit the front desk and get the issue resolved with a shrug and an «oh your key was only good for this date, sorry». So anyone can understand why we didn’t feel like welcome guests.
The tvs in the rooms max out at a volume that is barely audible from the bed. We did call for a crew member to assess the situation. The gentleman offered us to switch rooms after agreeing that the volume was ridiculously quiet, but fortunately we tested the volume of the next room and it was the same as our current room, so we stayed. I wouldn’t waste money on any pay-​per-​view movies unless you like reading subtitles.
The hotel restaurant was even less welcoming than the hotel itself. We stopped in one night for drinks and apps but left after being ignored for 15 minutes.
Finally, while housekeeping did a fine enough job, they did not clean the room unless specifically requested. We found this weird, since most hotels are itching to clean rooms for their guests.
So after all of this, my husband and I agreed that we would never stay here again. I am giving them an extra star because it was very clean and delivered a great falls-​view, but for the same price you can get two nights at a much friendlier, equally clean hotel.
What a disappointment.

Ive been staying at the Hilton chains for years now and this one I am dissapointed about. I booked a room for 4 adults and a 12 year old child, and when we got there there was no sort of accomodation for the child to sleep in. I had to order a roll away bed for an extra charge ($ 20). When it was delivered it just had a single sheet over it, no comforter nor blanket, I had to order that too. Parking is $ 13, you might as well go next door and pay $ 5 for all day parking. The water in the indoor pool was cold, but thankfully the jacuzzi made up for it. I would not pay what I paid for a hotel like this ever again. Also, no breakfast was included, and we spent close to $ 100 for breakfast so I would recommend people to shop around!

I have a hard time writing this review because I don’t know if I’m giving the hotel a fair shot, or if everything is really as bad as it seems.
I booked the hotel for a night using points, a lot of points for a Sunday night. I originally booked a smoking room by accident, and edited my reservation to a non-​smoking room. Apparently the day before the hotel tried to call but I never received a message so I was ignorant when I checked in. So, from my perspective, everything was normal at check in except for the fact that she claimed there were no available upgrades. The girl was friendly, everything was fine. When we made our way up to the room, we couldn’t even step foot because the smell of cigarette smoke was so strong.
When I went back down to the front desk, I find out that the hotel was trying to call about a smoking room. This is where I’m confused because my reservation and confirmation clearly said non-​smoking. I’m not sure why smoking was even an option. After a whole lot of confusion and frustration, they magically had an upgraded non-​smoking suite available. When my mom and I made our way to that suite there was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door. I wasn’t sure how clean/​unclean the room was. Luckily we were only staying for a night and didn’t plan to spend much time in our room so i tried to brush everything off and enjoy our time.
The next morning when we went to breakfast with our free breakfast coupons, the waitress let us know they only covered the cold side of the buffet. I’ve never had that experience at any Hilton hotel. After another visit to the front desk, everything was taken care of.
Long story short: not worth the points of money. There are closer hotels with comparable prices and parking prices. Customer service lacks and the cleanliness is definitely questionable.

The mattress was awful for two people. It caved in the middle which is great for people who like forced cuddling but for people who want a nice night if rest it was not ideal. The cookie was a bit dry (but free, so whatever!) and they had in room tea and coffee.
Our room had a view of the falls if you stretched a bit which was pretty cool. Walking down to the park takes about 10 minutes.
Parking was an additional $ 15 which is a bit ridiculous.
Overall it wasn’t bad but I’m glad we got an express deal on priceline instead of paying full price.

Have stayed her 2 times and it’s been clean, comfortable and quiet both times. Nice lobby, friendly staff and VERY VERY comfortable bed! Will definitely stay here again. Just wish it had true ‘falls views’, but I guess that’s why the price is right!

Hotel is great! Dining downstairs needs some work. Although we didn’t eat the restaurant is very cold unwelcoming atmosphere. With the bar and restaurant upgraded I would give it 5 stars.

It’s a lovely hotel. Not renovated or modernized (you can tell by the lack of outlets in the room), but very clean, well maintained.
There is a pool and hot tub that looked really nice, but we never got to use it. It was always packed with people, and would be nice if they instated an adults only time in the evening.
Location is far from Clifton Hill if you’re looking for entertainment for the kids. It’s far from the falls itself too. In the summer, it would be really nice walk — but off season, in January, not so much. We ended up driving to that area and found a place for $ 5 parking all day.
The view you see only the upper river and a glimpse of the falls. It’s nothing compared to the view you’d get at the Hilton Fallsview near the casino.
The room was clean, nice big tv, and ample space. Biggest complaint was the lack of outlets for our gadgets near the bedside.
For food, there is an in house restaurant, but we never went to it. Across the street is a Japanese Restaurant (walking distance) called Yukiguni, which has excellent food. There is also Old Stone Inn (which looked like they had a yummy breakfast).
There is also starbucks coffee available for purchase inside.
Parking on premises, but $ 13 a day.

We had the pleasure and luxury of staying on the 17^th floor. So, we had a great view, which included the top part of the Amercian Falls, and a bit and the mist of the Horseshoe Falls. (Pictures below, and Yes, I’m a photographer).
The hotel itself was great! Nice lobby, great service, available food, a restaurant, indoor pool, and spa. Rooms were a nice size for 2 of us with a jacuzzi in the bathroom with sliding windows that opened into the living/​bedroom.
The hotel itself was a short 10 minute walk to the park and both Falls, and a 15 – 20 minute walk to the heart of the busy area where all the activities are including the casino and Rainbow Bridge.
Reading other reviews, perhaps we’re biased to the fact that we were on the 17^th floor and had a great view, but even then we had a great overall experience at this hotel and loved it!

We didn’t have much time in Niagara. We came up to see the falls at night and to have a day to walk around, so we only spent the night there. Our room was spacious, well appointed, and very comfortable. The bed pillows looked intimidatingly large until I realized they flattened into the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on. On the down side, the shower water was tolerable at best — it never got warm/​hot enough to soak in (like I wanted to do after being out on a cold evening).
Also, if you are expecting a view of the falls, as the name «Double Tree Fallsview» suggests, don’t. «Fallsview» is the name of the street the hotel is on, not what you’ll see from your room. To be fair, all of the hotels on Fallsview Blvd. use this marketing tactic, so if that’s what you’re after — do your homework. That said, we had an excellent view of downtown Niagara from our 12^th floor room, and we could see the upper rapids of the American Falls, and the mist rising from the Horseshoe Falls.
Overall, I’d recommend this to others.

Stayed at this Doubletree for one night using Hilton HHonors points. The 15^th floor is dedicated to HHonors members. The room was clean and comfortable with a great view of the city of Niagara. The hotel is located a few blocks from The Falls and several restaurants nearby. It’s definitely walkable if weather permits. They do charge $ 12/​day for parking. It’s still cheaper than some of the other hotels in the immediate area.
The hotel has plenty of amenities, a café which serves Starbucks coffee, gift shop, onsite steakhouse restaurant, and a full service spa.
The staff was super friendly and helpful in providing information on the hotel facilities.
I would stay here again and take the time to actually enjoy the hotel.

I had an amazing stay. They gave us delicious, right out of the oven cookies (not a bad way to start our stay). Our room was on the 19^th floor and overlooked the falls, incredible view!
The room was perfect: clean, organized, comfortable, and pretty romantic. I had a great sleep in the extremely comfortable bed ! Honestly … I could live in that hotel room…

The good: Clean, spacious lobby. The room was a decent size too.
The bad: After checking in, I went straight to my room. Upon walking in, I was startled by someone sitting at the desk. Wow, they gave me someone else’s room!!! Luckily it was someone I knew (my coworker) but it was still unsettling. I’m just glad she was fully clothed and not sitting on the can or about to jump in the shower or something. Geez, that would have been awkward! I went back down to tell the clerk and her response «Are you sure? How could have this have happened?». Um, yes I’m sure and I was wondering the same thing lady. The entire stay I was nervous that someone would walk into my room, not so much while I was there since I always flip the security latch, but when I was out and needed to leave my personal belongings behind.
The good: Complimentary cookie upon check-​in.
The bad: The cookie was dry and not a bit tasty.
The good: Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries.
The bad: The tubes were so small & skinny, it was a challenge to squeeze out any conditioner. Despite people saying size doesn’t matter, in this case it definitely makes a difference.
The good: Free wi-​fi.
The bad: Wi-​fi reception was crappy! It worked in the lobby but it was impossible to connect in the room unless I was standing right next to the door. And even then reception was weak. Since the hotel is on the Canada side and I didn’t have an international data plan, I was really looking forward to being able to connect onto the internet.
The good: They have a Starbucks in the lobby.
The bad: Starbucks doesn’t open until 7am! If I were on vacation I guess that’d be ok but since I was staying here for work with 2 days of super early off-​site meetings, it was very disappointing. The hotel restaurant didn’t open until 7am either. Frustrating! You’d think in this case they’d at least have cheap complimentary coffee in the lobby. Luckily there’s a Tim Horton’s (comparable to Dunkin’ Donuts in the US) down the street where our group of 17 picked up coffee, breakfast sandwiches and donuts.
Overall, besides enjoying the time I spent in the lobby, the rest of my experience was mediocre at best. Such a shame because it is a nice facility that’s conveniently located (walkable to Niagara Falls and the casinos).

(3÷27÷14) This hotel is clean, cost-​efficient, and most importantly located a few short blocks from The Falls and entertainment complex. We arrived much later than anticipated but check-​in was a breeze. The attendant gave us the parking pass, key cards, and individually wrapped warm chocolate chip cookies w/​walnuts. It was a small gesture but I really appreciated it and the cookie was delicious.
The lobby was warm and decorated with dark finishes which reminded me of a ski lodge. They have an Aveda spa, mini art gallery, Starbucks and limited bar in the lobby. The lower lobby houses the pool, fitness, and business centers. The rooms were decent and had refrigerators, but lighting was a little too low even with all the lamps on. The unwavering overcast probably didn’t help and there was no microwave or mini bar inside. We decided to leave the car parked and walk everywhere. This was cool except for one night when it started snowing hard. I was disappointed Double Tree’s restaurant (Buchanans) had such limited hours (12:00 –6:00pm).
Even with the convenience of location, I have to deduct a star due to the very thin walls. I’m a light sleeper and was awakened by a couple in the adjacent room. With no effort involved, I knew exactly what was occurring. CNN couldn’t drown it out so I consequently lost some of my beauty rest.

My new favourite place to stay at the Falls!
I just came back from a very nice weekend for my bachelor party event, and we stayed here for one night. I’ve long thought that this hotel looks really nice and have been curious about how it is to stay in it. During the previous 758 times travelling with my family, we’ve never stayed here because it sort of sits in the middle of no-man’s land. It’s not really in the Fallsview area, and it’s definitely not in the Clifton Hill area either. As a result, one would have to drive to go to even modest restaurants anywhere, which meant that this property never really appealed to my family.
This weekend though, I finally got to sample the Doubletree experience. And it was great! We were greeted with the famous Doubletree chocolate chip and walnut cookie, though the cookie at this time was no longer warm (it was 6 pm when we checked in). It was delicious though, and I appreciate them doing this extra touch.
Just like the super spacious lobby, our rooms were GI-​normous. There were four guys in this room so it was nice to have such a big space for all of us. We all had our corners with plenty of room to spare. We could’ve played football in there for all I know. The fixtures weren’t anything super special or anything, and the room was very basic style-​wise, but we were more than happy with the size as well as the fact that we got free wi-​fi in the room. Excellent.
In the morning, we sampled the spa (probably one of the only bachelor day parties that has a spa booking as part of it!) and had a very good time. Love the waiting room, and also appreciated the fact that we could bring our bathrobes down with us to the pool area below, and keep our stuff in the lockers. Nice touch. The pool itself was quite big and it’s nice to have a separate area for the adults. The hot tub was also pleasant, though I felt it needed to be a touch hotter.
Service was very pleasant throughout, and we requested (and got) a rather late 1 pm checkout, which we appreciated considering our spa appointment ended at around noontime. I still loathe the $ 12 parking fee, but that’s pretty much par for the course in Niagara Falls. Overall, I’d definitely come back here. The whole hotel felt like a nice, spacious, lodge. So Canadian! :)

I’ve always stayed at Hilton and Double Tree hotels sense I was very young and have never had problems with them. My boyfriend and I decided to go to Niagara Falls for a weekend trip. This hotel had many negative attributes that other hotels did not.
Positives
— great pool/​sauna/​hot tub area
— there is a gym although not much to work with
— the hotel had a great feel to it, the lobby area felt like a lodge
— loved the fire place and couches in the lobby
— seems to be a great place to have a wedding/​party because of the amount of event rooms they had on the second floor
Negatives
— the front desk employees were very impersonable and somewhat rude, especially «Alisa»
— the front desk employees refered a pizza place that had horrible reviews
— our cookies were hard and therefore we tossed them
— there is no reason a hotel in such far distance from main attractions should be charging guests $ 12 a day for parking
— the amount of charges that were put on my boyfriends credit card for hotel damages and for hotel reservations added up to almost $ 80. although we were told they would come off in a few business days, there is no reason for such a large amount of charges
— hotel could use updating in the rooms
I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again not recommend it to a friend

Definitely agree with most other reviews that the location is better despite a longer walk to the falls.

Hotel Review
–Being a Hilton Gold member was worth it in this case, we got an upgrade to the 14^th floor Falls view, and also got breakfast vouchers (cold only) for the restaurant which you can use for $ 7 off the HOT buffet which is $ 16 per person. The perkins next door items on the menu were $ 18 for french toast, so the buffet here is technically a deal for the area.
–The hotel is very clean and newer
–The rooms were very nice, beds very comfortable
–Very nice indoor pool area
Negatives
–This hotel is off the strip/​beaten path area by at least 2 – 3 large blocks. Which means you have a long walk out your front door to get down to the Ferris-​wheel area, shopping and Niagara Falls.
But we saved like $ 100 per night staying off the main area. So you decide.
