Amazing breads and tasty cheese scones. My go-to bakery for everything you may need to replace glutinous bread out of life and be happier with the alternative.

Saw a few reviews online and knew I had to make this the first stop when I got into town after my 5 hour road trip up to Vancouver. The variety of breads, cookies, cakes and pies is excellent. The sourdough is highly recommended! Amazing gluten free bakery.

As a gluten challenged foodie it is often tough to find the goods but Mountain Top has been my north shore go to for some time now. Lunch specials are great cause somedays a girl just needs a sandwich! Their bread is delicious(although the brown grain bread I like best doesn’t freeze well but is amazing fresh with peanut butter and jelly–«it’s peanut butter jelly time– peanut butter jelly and a baseball bat»), I always buy the frozen pie crusts to make quiche and other deserts and their chocolate biscotti are amazeballs!

I have totally hiked up Lonsdale ave numerous times for some of their gluten free chicken pot pie. Mmmm Mmmm! Thankfully now I can find it at whole foods and Ed’s — although often just the beef pies are left. FOILED! I love the chicken one. So much. They have a good selection of gluten free stuff. Sausage rolls, butter tarts, and I love that rocky road one with marshmellows in it. YUM! Their treats are sugary so I don’t have them too often. Their cookies are ok, too hard and dry — I only care for the chocolate chip one. They offer a lunch menu with sandwiches and soups. And breakfast too. I had an egg salad sandwich there once but they didn’t put enough egg salad. They’re always friendly and the place is kind of old but I don’t mind it. The chicken pot pie warms my heart to overlook any décor flaws. Last time I went with my brother he had a cherry pie for lunch. haha I haven’t tried the sweet pies yet — and it’s probably not the best idea to eat a whole pie in one sitting. They are small pies though. Often gluten free stuff is smaller. They sell some frozen pie crusts too. Man. writing this really makes me want PIE. Time for another trek up Lonsdale methinks!
