Love this place so much, my family and I visit here every time for birthdays, the Homemade banoffee pie is to die for. I would recommend you book as it can be very busy all week

Fun place to hang out in the evening. However, once again disappointing self-​claimed Japanese place. Coming from the Asian background, this is so sad to see that many restaurant owners just put together some rice and raw seafood and claim it be a Japanese dish. Not at all. I was very disappointed with the food.

Great service, the food was dissapointing. This is the first negative review I ever posted, it didn’t live up to the hype or any other of the decent to excellent Asian restaraunts I’ve visited in Dublin.

Amazing, lunch bento box is only € 10 and changes daily. It’s healthy too so you can stuff yourself silly! I keep meaning to try it for dinner, it’s on my list of things to do.

Unimpressed unfortunately. Could be me as I am used to ramen from the Bay Area in California. The broth was just lacking. Bland, no salt or depth. Added a lot of soy sauce and still just meh. Shrimp were extremely overcooked. The restaurant is very nice though and the servers are very attentive and nice. I might give it another try.

I’m a big fan of all the Yamamori’s in Dublin, this is my favourite one to come to for dinner with my partner or when you want more of ‘sit down’ mean (along with Tengu), it’s a little more intimate as its smaller than the other Yamamori’s. The Menu is great as it has a full selection of main dishes, noodles/​Ramen, Norimaki and also sushi.
My favourite dishes here are the Ebi Goyza (any Goyza to be fair) Ebi Norimaki and bento boxes that change every day. With bento boxes it really Depends of your preference, I made a mistake getting one before with Tofu which I had never tired before, I learned that day I don’t like tofu! But it’s always good to try something new and different.
For lunch the Sashimi is delicious, light and plain and you can always order an extra side dish to accompany this.
Argentinian Malbec by the glass is really good!

I love Yamamori and have been coming here for years.
The tofu steak with mango sauce is absolutely amazing, even though it’s not as good as it once was, I still love it!
Staff are very friendly, service is good, the food is absolutely gorgeous and the ambiance of the place is fab.
A little on the pricey side but it is a great dining experience.

When I lived in Dublin this was my favorite Yamamori!
It’s a very nice place for enjoying a dinner with friends or boyfriend! They have a huge selection of different plates and types of Japanese dishes. The one I liked most was the Norimaki Rainbow, so tasty and big! Then for dessert don’t forget to try the Green Tea Brule. I don’t know why but you can find it only in this restaurant!
Staff is very attentive and helpful! Highly recommended.

Very tasty. The fillet beef sushi was delicious. Nice atmosphere up by the window but I wouldn’t like to be seated at the larger more communal table areas.
Really tasty New Zealand Sauvignon blanc wine and I’d recommend the edamame bean appetiser to share — so tasty good.
I thought however that it was very expensive.

Maybe I not a real fan of Japanese food but the taste here was very good, we order ramen and tempura and it was a good option. I would say maybe it is a bit crowded and expensive but it has a very nice decoration and waitress.

I much prefer the interior and set up of the Yamamori Sushi on the quays (so much brighter and more spacious!), but menu is pretty much the same. We opted here before heading off to the Gaiety nearby, and as my friend is vegan this is a good choice as they do quite a few vegan dishes.
I went for my standard choice of Ramen (Yamamori ramen with chicken, pork, tofu and prawns) — never fails to satisfy. It always annoys me though that at lunch time the exact same dish is about 8 euro cheaper.
Also they never do any early bird. For dinner this place can get quite expensive if you go for a few courses.
Their mocktails at 3.50 are very good value though!

So underwhelmed :(was excited to try here and not that it was really bad. It just wasn’t the best it could be! The restaurant is very cramped and all on top of each other. The staff were great, friendly and helpful! The spider crab sushi was huge and tasty but I found it to big that I had to cut it apart. Other times I had sushi they were small bite sized pieces I could just pop in my mouth and enjoy all the flavours togheter. The tempura haddock was good but abit tasteless I had to put soy sauce on top to make it abit more flavoursome. The pumpkin gyoza were also disappointing as the pumpkin was undercooked on the inside. The prawn tempura was limp and tasteless. I had a mojito that was very strong but the leaves were limp and dead. Id expect abit more for an € 8 cocktail. All in all I didn’t enjoy the meal! Saying that the table beside us got dishes that looked amazing. I’d probably return a give something else a go!

I’m a newbie to this kind of food so won’t proclaim to know what I’m talking about! I’ll just tell you what I liked and didn’t like :-)
First off, the restaurant was so much nicer inside than the exterior would have you think. I expected a really casual interior but it was classy and pared back.
Hadnt a clue what I was going to be presented food wise so just had a guess at what to go for… for starters we had the Spicy Kimchee Tuna from the Norimaki menu and the Ebi Tempura, King Prawn coated in a light crispy batter — from the sides menu. Both were fab and the portion size of the sushi was gigantic (I did still scoff it all though!)
For mains I went for the Tofu Ramen, having heard so much about Ramen. Any times I’ve eaten tofu I havent enjoyed it and I thought I’d give it one last shot… it will definitely be my last! Did not enjoy the tofu at all, but that’s nothing to do with the cooking of the dish, just my personal preference. Once I’d pushed the tofu aside the rest of the meal was lovely. My dining partner went for the Chicken Katsu Curry… while it doesn’t look like too much in the picture it was delicious.
I’d defo give Yamamori another shot to try out something more adventurous next time!

I’ve been looking forward to trying this place for a while and so I decided to grab lunch here. € 13 nets you a seafood bento box with some miso soup. Green tea given at the start for free which is always welcome although it tasted more like just boiled water with hints of green tea than anything else. It’s free so I can’t complain.
The bento box that came out was massive and then they also served it with a helping of (purple?) rice. There was fish in tempura, a crayfish salad, sushi rolls and some veg. The best part was the salad by far, it tasted fresh and it was great to eat a salad with some seaweed, a new experience for me that I liked. I found the sushi rolls very dry and packed with far too much rice. In fact my biggest complaint about the bento box is that it seems to be padded out with carb rich food such as rice or batter on the fish rather more creative and healthier options.
As a lunchtime meal, it was far too filling (in a bloated sense) and you don’t exactly feel great after it all.
The staff were friendly and attentive, the service was fast and I was a very big fan of the décor of the place, especially the old timey Japanese film being played on a projector on a wall. This place would probably fare better if going for drinks with some friends but it’s just above average when it comes to lunch.

My husband and I showed up without a reservation and, even though they were extremely busy, were still seated within 10 minutes. This was also one of the only places in Dublin that was still serving dinner after 10 pm!
We both ordered ramen — my husband the chicken miso and myself their vegetarian miso option. They were really average and overpriced at about 17 euro each. The veg one had such a flavorless broth that I had to add a ton of chili sauce, I couldn’t taste any miso base at all. It was also lacking veggies typical in a vegetarian ramen: needed corn or mushrooms or anything substantial really! There was grilled tofu in it that was a bit hard to eat in such a flavorless broth. My husband was also pretty unenthused about his chicken miso and thought it could have used more noodles.
The service was pretty good but confusing with about 5 different people checking on us. The Japanese beers they were offering were great, as well as the green tea ice cream sundae!

I had a very enjoyable meal with a friend here on New Year’s Eve. We had no idea what was open, but my friend navigated the streets and lead us right to Yamamori.
We showed up without a reservation — and the place was hopping! — but were seated within about 5 minutes. The host was very polite and efficient, and was in great spirits despite how busy the place was.
I ordered the bento box, probably because it was on a sign right in front of me, and my friend ordered the ramen. I was surprised at how big the bento was! And very good. I was able to eat about 75% of it before throwing in the towel. The attached picture will show exactly how much food comes in this thing. Order it only if you have a huge appetite.
My friend seemed to enjoy her ramen. I secretly wished that I had gotten that also — but alas, tough choices needed to be made before 2015. On my next trip to Dublin I’ll give it a try.
Service was great. So great that I barely noticed them coming and going with our orders or our food. And the food came out really fast.
Check out Yamamori if you are in the mood for a little asian fusion — they seem to offer it all.

One of my favorites restaurants in Dublin— the first I fell in love with, for sure. Amazing japanese dishes at very good prince. Really, this is fine dining on a budget!
After your dish of choice (you can’t go wrong with the Bento Box) go for the sweet treat. They are expensive (too much, maybe to compensate) but the Banoffee Pie is out of this world.
Good service, good food, good location… Brilliant.

Nice meal here this past weekend! We had a large group and they were easily able to accommodate us. Everyone had a variety of dishes so I can only really comment on my own. For a starter I got the pork gyoza which wasn’t out of the ordinary but tasted nice.
For my main I had the Ishi Yaki Bibimbap which I would definitely recommend. Mix of beef, vegetables, egg and served over rice in a clay pot. It had nice flavours and was great to combat the cold weather. J had the bento box which had great variety and was a good amount of food.
Everyone seemed to love their dishes. The only gripe I heard was that it doesn’t live up to the ramen places in NY — but that’s probably a given. Nice atmosphere — will definitely return.

We popped into Yamamori looking for some tasty food (and especially a healthy one at that after a week of beer and burgers) and with a giant hunger it being lunch time and all!
It was packed but lucky us managed to get a table for 7 — nice work for fitting an extra chair on the end of our booth. First off I was impressed to see a range of Hitachino nest beers on arrival. Their Red and White Ale’s were on offer — both super amazing!
Personally I went for the seafood ramen which was a giant portion but so so tasty — loads of noodles, loads of seafood, you could just feel the healthiness of it — just what we were after. We also got a large portion of sushi to share on the table — really good and pretty much finished me off (belly.about.to.pop)
The lady serving us was super friendly and a nice little bonus was that when we checked in to Unilocal we all got a free glass of sake — the perfect lunch time drink… maybe…
Looking forward to going back next time I’m in town!

I love Japanese food and am persuasive enough that I can steer a group of 7 hungry Unilocalers to the delights of Yamamori for lunch. Partly incentivised by the check-​in offer (um, free sake! Win!) but also but the good rating and delish sounding menu, we were warmly greeted at the door. The place was heaving and I was worried we’d be turned away but they magicked up a table for us without any bother at all.
I went for a bowl of Yamamori ramen — chargrilled chicken, king prawn, char shu, tofu, egg, seaweed and wasabi chooi sum in a soy sauce, chicken, pork broth and we got some sushi to share. The sushi and sashimi were delicious and disappeared quickly and the ramen arrived without too much of a delay. I’d recently made ramen at home and was interested to see how this compared — pretty good! It was a huge portion, I don’t think anyone who got the ramen could finish their bowl! Packed with noodles as well as plenty of prawns, chicken and pork this was a great option for lunch although the restaurant was pretty hot as it was, and a steaming bowl of soup didn’t help with that.
They had some good beers too and service was friendly and smiley! The sake shots went down a treat and I’d head back here for more of their delightful sashimi when I’m in Dublin next time.

Als mir die Speisekarte gebracht fällt mein Blick sofort auf «Rote Beete & Lychee Salat» — ich male mir im Kopf aus, wie das wohl schmecken könnte. Mein Blick streitft durchs Lokal, wir sitzen eng aber gemütlich, die Speisekarte ist kurz aber gut gefüllt, der Kollege, der zum Asiaten überzeugt werden musste, findet sogar einen Burger.
Wir bestellen uns durch das Programm, meine Wahl fällt auf ein Gericht mit schwarzem Reis, die Mädels wählen 3 Gerichte für gute 20 EUR — als die Teller kommen, merken wir, dass die Gerichte tatsächlich eher als Tapas oder Vorspeisen gedacht sind, nicht aber um hungrige Feierabendmägen zu füllen.
Mich stört das nicht, meine Portion ist sättigend und fein abgeschmeckt, der Genmaicha-​Tee wärmt zusätzlich und so bin ich bereit für einen Spaziergang durch den Dubliner Nieselregen, der wie könnte es anders sein in einem Pub endet :-)
PS: Der obengenannte Salat hält geschmacklich leider nicht, was er verspricht, ist aber aber eine interessante Alternative in Sachen Rote Beete.

Wir waren eigentlich auf der Suche nach einem anderen Restaurant, was es scheinbar nicht mehr zu geben schien. Nun gut, also wurde spontan umdisponiert und wir landeten hier.
Von er Optik nett gemacht. Nicht unbedingt wie man sich einen typischen Japaner vorstellt, aber wir sind ja nun auch in Dublin, da mag das alles anders sein.
Der freundliche Service wies uns zu einem Tisch, der in einem Teil des Restaurants war, wo scheinbar alle platziert wurde. In dieser besagten Ecke stapelte sich alles und der restliche Teil, der größer war blieb leer.
Wie dem auch sei, das sollte uns nicht stören.
Auf der Speisekarte musste man sich erst einmal zurückfinden.
Ich hatte mich für die Steak-​Streifen mit Sweet Potato Chips entschieden.
Der Herr im Service fragte mich, ob ich schon mal hier gewesen wäre, was ich verneinte. Dann klärte er mich auf, dass das Steak komplett roh wäre.
Ok, damit war dieses Essen raus.
Auf die Schnelle musste ich umdisponieren und wählte den Asian Burger für 9 Euro. Vielleicht nicht wirklich spannend bei einem Japaner, aber in der Eile der Bestellung viel mir nichts Besseres auf.
Als dieser dann aber erschien, war ich etwas überrascht. Das sollte ein Hauptgericht sein? Der Burger wirkte wie ein Appetizer, so groß bzw. so klein war.
Geschmacklich war er gut, aber mit zwei Bissen auch schon im Mund verschwunden.
Ok, das sollte es dann wohl gewesen sein. Nicht wirklich satt verließ ich das Restaurant und dachte mir, das dies der teuerste Burger war, den ich je gegessen hatte, oder auch umgekehrt gesprochen, der kleinste den ich jemals für so viel Geld hatte.

Ambiance et personnel super sympas

Yamamori ist ein schönes japanisches Sushi Restaurant in der Innenstadt Dublins.
Die Gerichte sind gut, aber auch ziemlich teuer. Jedoch ist in Dublin auch alles etwas teuer als hier. So kostet ein Essen zur Dinnerzeit dann auch gleich mal mindestens 14 Euro.
Das Restaurant ist sehr nett eingerichtet und bietet ungefähr für 100 Gäste Platz. Aber auch für nur 2 Personen lässt sich ein gemütliches Plätzchen finden. Wir saßen direkt am Fenster und konnten so die lebendige Straße beobachten.
Zur Begrüßung erhielten wir erst einmal einen Kräutertee. Die Menükarte bot uns eine große Auswahl an Fisch und Fleischgerichten. Als Vorspeise wählten wir «Sashimi Starter Platter». Der Fisch war gut, hätte aber noch frischer sein können. Mein Hauptspeise war «Chicken Teriyaki». Leckeres Hühnchenfleisch, viel Gemüse und am Anfang unglaublich heiß.
Als Nachtisch wählte ich «Cheesecake New York Style», der leider wie ich schon befürchtete unglaublich süß war. Dafür war er schön garniert mit Sahne und frisches Erdbeeren und kostete stolze 6,95 Euro.
Die Rechnung verwirrte, was vermutlich daran lag, das wir zur Lunchzeit kamen, aber die Hauptspeisen erst später zur Dinnerzeit bestellten, was die Speisen gleich um mehrere Euros verteuerte.
In Laufe unseres Aufenthaltes füllte sich das Restaurant immer mehr und als wir gingen, warteten schon die nächsten Gäste auf freie Plätze.
Insgesamt ein gutes Restaurant, in dem man einen schönen Abend verbringen kann.
