On the high end of one $, but it really depends on what you get. I always get Thai tea and wanted to get the bubble tea but they ran out of the bubbles! ;) they’re called boba… Anyways I’m excited for the food, it’s Friday night so they are pretty busy and it’s been a while(our local Thai place is super quick) but I can wait for good food :) The food finally got to us after 45 minutes of waiting in a small restaurant that instantly froze every time someone came and went with their to-go order. The food was good, my local place has stronger flavors and larger Thai tea. So I wasn’t blown away but I would still recommend this place, but it’d probably be a better experience on a slower night.

If youre driving on lark, you’d probably miss it it’s that small. I’ve had Thai before, but I’m not sure that it was as authentic as Sukhothai. I got a lychee martini to start off but it wasn’t as good as other places. Something about it tasted weird and it wasn’t very cold which was made it less appealing. I ordered the Ka Prao Gai Kai Dao for dinner which is minced chicken with vegetables and rice. You can choose a seaweed salad or miso soup. I opted for the soup which was on par with other miso soups I’ve had. The entrée though was delicious. The flavors were on point and it had just enough spice for a perfect amount of kick. The portions were generous and I had delicious left overs for the next day. I also was able to try the Thai Iced Coffee which was amazing and I am not a coffee drinker at all. The service was attentive, friendly and quick. It didn’t take long for our meals to come out. This location is tiny on the inside, theres only room for about 15 people but you’re pretty much right on top of eachother. I don’t mind the intimacy though, but for a larger group I would try their Central Ave location.

Their food is fantastical. Their curry, the ones I had tried(red curry, Green curry) are really good. padThai is really good as well. They serve really big portions if you love leftovers.

Awesome duck noodle soup in a no-frills setting… and for a very reasonable price. We went way out of our way to come to the Lark Street location, and it was absolutely worth it. It reminded me of some of the hole-in-the-wall places we used to check out in NYC where the food is so good that you easily forget about the slightly dingy surroundings. I’d love to try some of their other dishes… just wish it was closer to home or work!

I was underwhelmed by my experience. The décor and the cramped quarters were downsides, and friends told me to expect that going in, so all that aside, I’ll focus on the food, which was abundant(huge portions) but pretty pedestrian. I ordered the Pad See Ew with duck and it was far from the best I’ve had, just a big bowl of brown sauce and noodles, and I twice had to pull bones out of the chunks of duck. The duck was kind of rubbery too, which I haven’t experienced at other Thai joints. Overall, this is a pass. Not the worst, but there’s far better Thai out there.

My husband and I tried Sukhothai a few weeks ago. The food wasn’t bad, but it definitely wasn’t great. We tried two different curries that just didn’t have a lot of flavor. We both felt that we have had better Thai elsewhere, and not just in NYC, but in the area(like Tomo in Slingerlands). The atmosphere isn’t great, so that doesn’t make up for mediocre food. The service was ok. Doubt we will ever go back, which is too bad since I would like to see places in downtown Albany thrive.

I don’t understand why this place has good reviews. I would not say it is authentic thai flavor at All. Spring rolls were greasy. Pad Thai was too sweet and sour, did not really create the pad Thai flavors. It was more like orange chicken flavor that you can have at a Chinese take out place. Taste was same as trader joe’s frozen instant pad Thai. Pineapple fried rice is a fried rice sprinkled with curry sauce. It does not have the traditional Thai fried rice flavor. Nothing special. During the lunch time, there is only one person in the hall picking up phones and receiving orders. Took us a long time to take our orders.

Sukothai is almost always the first place on our list for date night. The food is always great, and the waitresses are friendly. The dining area has a very limited amount of seating though, so don’t walk in here on a weekend night and expect not to be rubbing elbows with your neighbors. That being said, during the week you can usually get a table with no wait, and even when the restaurant is full, you never wait an absurd amount of time for your food. Kinda nuts when you realize how tiny their kitchen is. Relax, and talk to whoever you came in with, the food is always amazing when it shows up. I highly recommend the curries, especially pumpkin if they’re serving it.

Cute little restaurant with fantastic food. Very nice, friendly staff. The food is great for takeout or sit-down. I highly recommend getting the pineapple fried rice with chicken and cashews. Definitely one of my favorite Thai places in Albany.

I did not like this place much. I have tasted better Thai food at other places in Albany for the same price. Their Thai curries were watery. They have an ambiance suited for college crowd. The place is very small and feels very crowded even if there are 10 – 12 people in the restaurant. Also, this place is located in the area where finding a parking spot can be really troublesome.

I’m very sad to be giving this place 2 stars. It used to be my go-to place for a good hot meal with friends, family, or a quiet dinner for one. However, I recently had a very unpleasant experience. Because I’ve been here so often I expected the wait for my food to be relatively quick. I had 40 minutes to spare and thought that would be sufficient. After twenty minutes I could tell the food would be awhile, so I asked to have my order to go. The waitress was OK with it. Ten minutes later I kindly asked when she thought the food would be ready. She snapped at me and said, «I don’t know, you should’ve asked that before you ordered!» I was very taken aback since I’d never had that interaction with any wait staff there or elsewhere for that matter. I told her I was sorry(to be diplomatic), and that I’d come here a lot and never experienced that kind of wait. She snapped again and said«well, you should’ve thought about it!» She then continued to point out the three tables that came before me, emphasizing that take-out didn’t mean I would get my order quicker. It makes me laugh at how ridiculous it was. It’s a small business and they can’t afford to lose a customer who has passed on their name to many in the community. In any case, I waited for my food because I didn’t want to screw the cook over or waste the food, because it is delicious. But I won’t be returning. Lest I get yelled at again.

This is a great hole-in-the-wall place for Thai food with what looks like less than ten small tables inside. The service is friendly, efficient, and attentive. You will be surprised with the choices here including fried rice, pan fried noodles, noodle soups, curry rice plates, soups and salads. It kind of reminds me of the Thai food courts in Thailand’s mega malls where theres just so much to choose from… especially since the portions are large and prices are small. There’s something for everyone with choices of tofu, vegetables, chicken, beef, pork, and duck. I love getting the noodles and curry. anything with a good kick of spice as well. The drinks are very good and similar to what I’ve had in Thailand… I recommend the Thai Iced Tea. Dessert wise I usually go for the sticky rice with mango. Just keep your party small(2−4people) and it will be a good time. If you’re looking for more space they have a second location on Central Ave.

I wouldn’t want to pleasure a Thai guy that wasn’t hot. In other words, I would only Sukhothai boys, I wouldn’t Sukbasicthai boys. Or girls, for that matter. Or a combination thereof. What to get: Thai Green Curry, Thai Tea. What else: Thai boys. If you have a warm English drink that is overly sweet, you have a Sugartea. However this is Sukhothai. I’ve eaten here three times in my life, basically all three times I’ve been to Albany since I’ve been a musician. The first time, I just got lucky. The girl I was with was a big fan of Thai food so we gave it a go based on Unilocal recommendations, and it was affordable, delicious, and fantastic. Then, on subsequent visits to town, including my most recent amazing concert in Saratoga Springs, I started off by enjoying a delicious Thai Green Curry here — which is what I always order. If you’re wearing a gross brown thing around your neck with your suit, then you’re wearing a Suckytie. However this is Sukhothai. The curry is very wet and creamy and tastes a little more sweet than I usually prefer — I like the savoury tasting ones. However it remains one of the better ones I’ve had in the country. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lovely and so is the service. I’d say it’s my favourite place to eat in the Albany area, although my experience in this area is limited. And if you happen to Sukahothai anytime soon, please give me his or her contact details, because I’m as human as the next man, therefore in the words of the great Henry Jones, Senior, I’d love to actually be the next man.

Stop by while driving through Albany. I had the pinapple fried rice with chicken, the shrimp on a skewer, and Thai icetea. It was pretty good. Definitely should try this place if you like Thai food.

I’ve tried lots of Thai food in my day, including in Thailand. This place had 7.8÷10 in terms of taste and quality. The price is great very affordable and good portions I had the Pineapple Curry, Seaweed salad, and pad thai. All were good, I especially enjoyed the curry. Pad thai was good as well, best I’ve had in the area. All in all, a great place for good thai food with the best prices and taste in Center Square

It is hard to find a good Thai in Capital Region. I was reluctant to try this place for really long time because I was spoiled by good Thais in Queens. Somehow I am lucky to find this place. They have been here for many many years. Appetizers are all good.

I don’t know what everybody is raving about. The food was mediocre. Nothing memorable. I ordered the netted prawn which was OK! It was fried noodle wrapped around a simple salt & pepper shrimp. Crispy not too oily thank God but lacked flavor. The Thai tea with bubbles was horrible really. We also ordered a beef salad and it was nothing worth mentioning. I’ve definitely eaten better. Our waitress was really nice so 2 stars for her smile that got us through lunch!
