The girl is sooo sweettt!!! She is very very nice. I came here for my first time to order two cakes. The girl did everything she could to make sure I could get my cake in time. The first cake I ordered over the phone. She had the ready for me 30 mins after we hung up. Then when I got there to pick up the cake, I ordered another one. She went through this picture book of cakes with me. She told me what she recommended and what is popular. I ordered this coffee cake that she suggested and it was delicious. The cream is very thin and fluffy. The coffee flavor of the cake was very good. I also bought a few baked goods. I got their red bean buns, taro buns, and pineapple buns. MmmMMmm delicious! This bakery is a little bit cheaper than other large bakery shops. This bakery is small but it’s good!

While my friend was shopping at a nearby market, I wandered into this Chinese bakery to dodge the rain and have a quick look. The interior was smaller than their nearby competitors with a plethora of individually packaged sweet and savory breads stacked next to the window. I also noticed they sell an assortment of cakes, cookies and homemade soymilk, and foot traffic was sparse in the afternoon with just one person working at the register. I tried the Taro Bun($ 1.20) which came with a soft fluffy texture with smears of fresh taro baked into the bread. The buttery fluffy texture was easy to bite into without any air pockets, but the amount of taro embedded was futile. The Black Sesame Paste Bun($ 1.00) came with the same consistent buttery texture with a good bite. The black sesame paste was smooth with decent flavor but the spread was unevenly distributed throughout the pastry. To their credit, there was no air pockets between the bread and the fillings, and together the two pastries were a decent deal for the price. I thought their only limitation was the filling which I believe to be significant in these types of pastries. Service was friendly and swift. This is the only bakery I’ve seen so far that carries a savory Taro and Pork Bun so I’d be interested in coming back to give them another chance. Cash only.

Great little Chinese bakery in a small plaza by Happy Garden and other wonderful restaurants. They have a decent selection of pastries, both savory and sweet. Not as glossy as, say, 85C, but the quality is better and the price is much cheaper. Very popular with the Chinese/Taiwanese population in the area, and they do cakes as well. The workers move fast to get you in and out quickly, which is great for anyone who just wants to grab and go.

So I’ve been coming back to this place quite often and finally decided to try their soymilk. It was so good! It is something I’ve never tasted before. I’ve had fresh soymilk from VK and stuff like that, I’ve had Vitasoy, I’ve had Silk, I’ve had Mogami, ok you get it I’ve tried them all. Their soymilk has a distinct refreshing taste that I can’t put my finger to it. I think I taste almond… also the sweetness is really light and doesn’t taste bland which usually unsweetened soymilk tend to be.

This was an awesome find. They’re in the same center as Vietnamese Sandwiches, so I was gleeful to get both in one shot. The pastries were unique and different, what you hope to see in an authentic chinese bakery. You want to be reminded of the bakeries in Taiwan. I was overjoyed, and had to restrain myself to only buying 3 pastries. I wanted to try so many more. They also had egg-tarts that are oval shaped! They have a shortbread-buttery flavored and textured shell to make it taste like an in-between egg-tart and butter cookie. Yum.:) I was also excited that they had the san-ming-tze authentic taiwanese sandwich i had when i went to taiwan. Taste-wise, I think the rave over the variety and authenticity ranked higher over the actual taste. Not sure exactly why. But I’m still a big fan and can’t wait to try more of their stuff as well as their delicious looking tarts and cakes.

*Please note that I had originally mistakenly published this review over for the Arcadia location, my bad+apologies!* Ko-Ko Bakery located inside the Hilton Hotel plaza use to be my favorite bakery, UNTILTHISPLACE! I’m not sure how many times they’ve changed owners or maybe it’s just all the changes they have been making but WOW this place just keeps getting better. My bff and I use to ditch school to come here to enjoy their hot fresh out of the oven pineapple buns! They have everything you could possibly want at other bakeries and MORE. I mean, CHOCOLATEBAKEDBREAD! Yes, chocolate! There are chocolate square bits inside this twisted bread and oh my buddha is it delicious with a cup of fresh milk or what! Wow. Pineapple buns, soft after even 3 days. PRICES: Ko-Ko bakery is way too expensive. This place, it’s better and the prices aren’t as high! $ 0.50-$ 1.25 at most I believe? For sure cheaper than Ko-Ko bakery, that’s all I know! Just go here already, try it out and if it’s bad, I’ll buy you a pineapple bun of your choice. I am THAT crazy about this place!(You can check out the photos of the bff and I bread shopping and getting a plate full of things! As always.)

After eating at A & E restaurant next door, my nephew and niece wanted to get some dessert so we want here and got alot of sweet treats for them. It was alittle small but the staff was nice. I am not much of a sweet eater so I only took a few bite of the almond jello just so i can review this place. LOL Sorry I didn’t really try anything else but I can say that my nephew and niece like it there.

Dropped in while I was in the plaza and was welcomed by the smell of fresh bread in the oven. There was a good variety of bread for sale at a pretty good price ranging from .75 = 1.75(from what I saw). They also had chinese pastries and a small section for cakes and dessert. I think the only complaint I would have was that the selection of cakes was small… they had 2 flavors of whole cake and one flavor that you could buy in pieces. I wanted chocolate cake but I didnt want the whole thing :( Bought a small fruit tart for .75 which was yummy and their curry bread was soft and yummy. I’d have to go back and try the other goods but so far, I was pretty surprised by their quality.
