AutoProFilms Clear Bra

A review long overdue. 3 years ago, I had Rob worked on my wife’s new Fiat 500 to get a clear bra on the front, side doors, and rear bumper. Rob gave me a good price on the package through some email exchanges, and we proceeded to schedule an appointment. While doing some research, I suggested to try a different type of film than what Rob uses, and he agreed to give it a try. A week or so later, the job was done, and the majority of it turned out great, except the driver side door and the headlights. Turned out the film I chose was much harder for Rob to work with and less sticky, causing some less precise cutting and some peeling on that particular door and some minor issues on a headlight pieces. Rob was very nice about it and re-​did that door and the headlights on my next visit. And even offered a big discount on window tinting if I was interested. 3 years later, the clear bra still holds up very well. If there is anything to blame, its the less sticky film that occasionally letting some dirt trapped at the edges at some spots. But the craftsmanship of Rob shines through in all the areas that was not hindered by the film’s nature. And the occasional tiny bubble or two got trapped within the film, they disappeared completely after a couple months of driving. So don’t be too alarmed if you see a couple small bubbles that didn’t disappear within a week of installation.
Thanks Rob for the great work. And guess who I’ll go back to for a clear bra when I get my Abarth? I might have another job for you sometime soon. Keep up the good work!

My car was broken into through the passenger side window. Had to take it back to get tinted again. Robert was able to get my car in and out. Robert cares about his work and business and it shows when dealing with his customers. If you care about what service you get take it to someone who cares about service they give you. 5 Stars all the way.

Rob has worked on two of my vehicles. Previously I had my Prius tinted. Rob did a great job, walking me through his procedure and tint options. I paid a fair price for the quality of work done by a detail oriented pro.
Most recently I bought a brand new Gti. I brought it back to Rob for a tint job, as well as a full front clear bra to protect my new ride. Rob again provided an exception service. The bra turned out great as well as the tint job. Ron told me to bring the car back in a week to touch up any bubbles which may normally arise.
Autoprofilms is a quality outfit, providing a great service that is customer centric.
Note he is a one man outfit, so he tends to book you two weeks out. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait. Support the local artisans!

Rob did a fantastic job of custom wrapping my new Aprilia RSV4RF for stone protection. The film covers the whole of the fairing covering all of the intricate detail. Amazing! Easily the best job on a motorcycle that I have seen. He has done several of my cars and motorcycles and always does a superlative job. A true craftsman, and all around good guy.

You just can’t find anyone as good as Rob. Worth the wait for a full front wrap. This is the second car he did for me and for sure I will bring him my next one.

Highly recommending Rob for his quality of work, professionalism in communication and keeping to appointment time and quoted turn around time.
Was concerned of timing as i was planning a road trip. However he graciously worked it out to meet my schedule.
Brought my Audi A5 Cabriolet Quattro for full hood and full front film protection, it included front side panels to door seams. He added rear mirrors, rear bumper, and doors edges complimentary!
His attention to detail is amazing: there is no telling where the 8 mil film seams start nor end.
His application was wrapping around to the inside of the panels, matching the mold line of the mirror casings, and all sensors were cutout to not alter accuracy. Precise. Invisible.
Though i was coming from San Francisco, his shop’s location made it painless to drop off and come back to pick up: the Belmont CalTrain station is less than 300 yards making it so very convenient.
Before leaving, Rob mentioned to bring the car back in a few weeks as a follow-​up to the application if need be, as he stands behind his work. This adds further confidence in his professionalism: appreciated. Thank You.

10/​11/​2015. Just picked up our GT4 from Rob. Only one thing to say about his work. It exceeded our expectation. Rob is a true professional; and an artist in his trade. This is the 2^nd Porsche I had Rob install a clear bar; I am extremely satisfy with both jobs. I am definitely a return customer. I have no qualm recommending AutoProFilms to my friends and family. I needed to replace the stone guards on my white porsche 911, as my OEM ones were starting to yellow.
It took awhile to get an appointment (2 weeks), but it was totally worth it. I was in and out in about an hour at a price that rivals the cost of replacement stoneguards from Porsche, without labor.
Very reasonable price, great friendly service, clean shop and excellent work. Will come back to Robert for clear bra services.

Rob is amazing! Rob tinted my windows 3 years ago and it is just as good as when he initially installed it. Unfortunately, some bafoon smashed my rear window and I had to replace my rear window and get it retinted. Rob’s customer service is amazing.
I do recommend that you call him early to set up an appointment because his appointment book fills up quickly! Forgot to mention, he also does clear bra.

the experience of getting my clear bra done there was ok when i first picked up my car, there seems to have bubbles all over but the guy said you need to be back in a week or two so he could go over it.
now, thats when all the problem starts; i call the guy to make an appointment to stop by but i had to change the appointment for some reason and i told him that i am going to stop by the next day, he told me ok just to give him a call right before. i called him the next day, no one answer so i left a voicemail and told him i was heading over. i arrived at the shop and walk in, no one was in the shop so i waited for 10 minutes. i tried telephone him again and i heard the phone just keep ringing and ringing, i left another voicemail and told him i was waiting in the shop for him and please call me back. i waited for another 20 minutes in the shop and nothing, i walked outside and spoke with his neighbor and asked if he know where the guy is and was told that he had not seen him since lunch time and that was about 4 ½ hours ago. i left another message on the phone and asked what had happened … guess what, 2 weeks after and still no one had returned my phone call.
what a joke!

What can I say. There’s a reason for the 5 star ratings.

great craftsmanship. reasonable price. I wouldn’t just take my new $ 100K vette to just anyone. I’m very meticulous. when getting a paint protection job done to one’s car, the installation is everything. You can get a kit job that will have many small pieces and visible seams. not Rob, all material is custom fitted and applied. you end up with less, larger pieces. Additionally the edges can be wrapped and hidden around corners. the SUNTEC material used looks better than the paint. Rob delivered with a great job at a fair price. I’m very pleased. I will be using him again on my next project

I’m a little behind in writing this review, but wanted to make sure that I put it out there. Rob did the tint on my 08 Bullitt Mustang and I have to say it looks as good as, it not better than factory tint. I even had him do my windshield. The car looks awesome — truly no attention to detail was missed. There were some bubbles (very tiny) on one of the windows, and Rob offered to change it out without hesitation, and at no cost. Even with
his aching back — he hooked it up, and quickly. He and his partner Jeremy are true professionals that have an eye for detail, and get the concept of customer service. I’m bringing my 90 pathfinder to Rob next. I highly recommend APF for any tint work.

I have a 2015 wrx that I wanted to get paint protection and window tinting for. I read reviews here, so I decided to ask Robert for a price quote. (I already had an appt with autoimage a few blocks down but canceled with them.) He would do a combo cash price. For the paint protection; it consist of front half hood, full front bumper, half fenders, side mirrors, door edges and top back bumper was for free. The window tinting was for 9 windows and a free top windshield (all windows except windshield). The price was $ 800 for paint protection and $ 300 for window tinting.
Robert’s attitude was good in the beginning. After a week of paint protection done, he was going to do my window tinting and check on any bubbling from the protection. I showed all the bubble areas to Robert that needed attention that day. After the tinting was done, the bubbles on the lenses of the lights were still there. There was missed tint on the edge of a window and a corner spot. With an appointment, I brought the car back to Robert the next week to have it redone. Then I found a cut on my top driver door seal. Another week later I took my car there to see if Robert was there because he said he was off that day (Monday). He in fact was there but someone else was working. At this point; he was having an attitude. I told Robert to look at my door seal which he denied he made the damage. I told Robert that I would take care of it because I wanted him to redo the back bumper portion. There was a dust particle stuck under the film that it was showing a dot. What he said was «It was free». Even though it was free, it should be free of dust. After all; I did pay for the whole job. With the attitude of not wanting to redo just that bumper piece, I am afraid to even let him redo the protection. I have experienced better service elsewhere.

Best I have seen on clear bra installation. I would highly recommend you go see Rob who is one of the best at this. He pays attention to incredible detail and got my Prius looking awesome.

Before taking my fiancé’a car and my car to Rob, I did some research. After contacting several of the best film shops in the Bay Area, one from Fremont and another from SF, I decided to go with Rob because he was the only one that took the time to answer all my questions. Others just gave me a quick answer and that was it. Rob did a 2015 Lexus RX 350 F Sport for my fiancé, full front wrap and it turned out perfect! He does custom cuts. He spends his entire day devoted to your car for the full front wrap. He charges a very fair price because it takes him a whole day. For people who understands the amount of labor, care, and attention to details that go into wrapping the full front end of your car will understand why he charges what he charges. If you spend a good amount of money purchasing a car that you are going to keep for a long time, then spending what Rob charges is completely reasonable. You pay for what you get. One can go cheap and get the precut clear bras and there is nothing wrong with that. If you have the money, do it right the first time and get it done through Rob. I will be getting my 2014 Lexus GS F Sport done in two weeks and I have already paid Rob in full. That is how much I trust him as a business owner. My sister with her new 2015 Subaru Forester will be going there for a full front wrap as well. Rob is the best in the business. He is honest, extremely easy to work with. If I could get him to come to my house and film other shit I would. Thanks Rob for such a good experience. Wish all business owners are like you!

I chose Auto ProFilms because of its reviews and its location. I took my 370z there for both clear bra (full hood, front bumper, front fenders and rear view mirrors) and window tint. Let me tell you that Rob did an amazing job on my car. The clear bra and tinting were cut to perfection, it’s hard to realize there’s a clear bra. On top of this, Rob is also easy and great to deal with. Definitely recommended.

Rob is as good as they come and not only that, is a fellow auto enthusiast and nice guy. The highest compliment is that looking at a car done by him (a Sapphire Blue 911 Turbo), you can’t tell it has any clear bra on it! The covered surfaces are indistinguishable from bare paint, and he makes the film conform and wrap around panels and joints like they were an invisible skin. On top of all this, his facility is clean and professional, and his prices reasonable; a fraction of what some others charge for work that may approach, but not exceed Rob’s excellent quality of workmanship.
