NYC Driving Lessons specialized in teaching licensed drivers how to drive stick shift.

Through our teaching principles, we have found the most efficient sequence of skills to layer in a way that can help students pick up stick shift in record time.

Our instructors are students themselves in the teaching process. Each instructor is given a blue print of our training principles and a clipboard to take notes, check off and follow the proper training sequence to ensure success.

Each step is given careful attention and addressed based on the individual’s unique problem. We focus on quality in our instruction over all else!

History

Established in 2009.

There are plenty of driving schools in New York, but very few specialize in stick shift. and even fewer have the tools to properly teach it.

Here at NYC driving Lessons, we know that being good at something doesn’t mean we can teach it well. Teaching is an art in itself.

We have spent years researching the teaching principles and comparing them to driving schools around the nation.

Most driving schools don’t have a dedicated set of guidelines designed to gradually adjust the student to stick shift proficiency.

In 2009, NYC Driving Lessons was launched with these principles in mind. The theory was perfect and the field test proved success. Most students picked up the skills they needed in as little as two, 2 hour lessons.

Compared to the average driving school, that’s almost three times as fast!

Since then, our meta learning principles have grown and made learning even less of a hassle.

Ever since I was a child, I had a passion for teaching. I quickly learned that learning and teaching are two different skills. After years of research on teaching principles, I realized that in order to teach, the instructor needs to have the proper sequence of skills to layer on top of each other properly.

I later learned that there are very few stick shift courses out there and people were struggling. With the encouragement of friends and loved ones, I decided to offer my skills to those in need.

NYC Driving Lessons quickly became popular for it’s training methods and spread like wildfire!
