Can we say disgusting? Not only did the car take almost 40 minutes to come when I was quoted 7 minutes, but the minivan they sent was GROSS. Cracked passenger mirror, the side door was missing a door opener, FILTHY floor, dirty seats AND the driver took the long way to get me to my destination. When I say it wasn’t clean, I didn’t feel comfortable putting my purse on the floor of the car or the seat next to me. There were dirty clothes on the floor next to the driver. Aside from using this car as your lively hood, you should also take pride in your property. To say this car needed a car wash — is putting it nicely. I also gave the driver directions (I take this route often, so I know the faster shortcuts, but I usually take an über and now I know why) and he completely disregarded my suggestion and it took at least an additional 10 minutes. I will never be using this cab service ever again.

I’ll give it two stars simply based on the fact that the car actually showed up on time and made it to the airport in one piece. Booked an early AM trip from Brooklyn to Newark and was quoted $ 80 flat rate (and specifically asked if tolls were included) only to be told after in the car and nearly there that they were actually going to charge $ 95. Not a bad deal all in all, but insanely unprofessional. Phone service is terrible and other reviewers are accurate about the comments of difficulty communicating in English. Definitely won’t be using this one again and absolutely not recommended!!!

I hate giving negative reviews, but this one is deserved for incompetence & unreliability, which is all you need from a car service. I reserved rides to & from JFK. They failed to pick me up on the return flight, claimed I hadn’t made a reservation & that they hadn’t even driven me to the airport.

I’ve used this car service about 5 or 6 times, for airport trips. I’ve never had any negative experiences, the drivers have always shown up on time, and have been very professional. The rates have been extremely reasonable & competitive.

I’m sitting in the back of a yellow cab that I almost got killed for bc I ran out in the middle of the street out of desperation. I waited 40 min for Abatar and it never came!!! Not only that, but it stopped answering the phone after 20 min. WTF!!! We were tricked by fake reviews on Google. Let’s hope I make my flight…

I recently called them and they were late. I needed to catch a ride to the airport to catch a flight so I caught another cab. I received a text message informing me that the abatar cab had arrived (20 minutes late). Out of courtesy I sent a text back stating I had caught another cab since they were late. I then received text messages from the company saying that I should have called them to tell them I got another cab… They even gave me slack for catching another cab company! Very uncomfortable texting! Would NOT recommend !

I booked a car with Abatar Car Service to pick me up from the John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). They were fabulous in every way… the driver was kind enough to help with our luggage I felt like I had ordered VIP service, he then drove to the hotel offered to be back here in the morning and I declined. The next day instead just got the hotel to arrange for taxi, that was a huge mistake he got into a fender bender and told me to get out did not call for replacement and still got upset when I didn’t give him a tip. I got on my cel search for Abatar Car Service they find me and retrieve me from a very tricky area in less than 20 minutes I was impress. Asked for the weekly rate hire them for the week (had 3 days left). I would definitely use Abatar Car Services again when I come back.

Called Abatar on the night of Feb. 11 to pick my wife and I up at NY Methodist Hospital to take us into Manhattan. She had just been discharged after having surgery and was weak and groggy. Guy who answered the phone told us it would be about a 5 minute wait. Had to call him at least 3 more times before he sent a car. His 5 minutes was more like 30 minutes. Then he wouldn’t take my credit card info on the phone. He asked me about 10 times to repeat it and kept telling me I was giving him the wrong account number. The man has to be retarded. He then called the driver, who had already begun heading for the Brooklyn Bridge, and told him that my credit card number was bogus and that he was afraid we were going to cheat him out of the fare and that he should stop and not take us. Fortunately, the driver was a nice guy and didn’t listen to him. He actually hung up on him several times. Since the idiot dispatcher was too stupid to accurately take down my credit card information, the driver had to stop at an ATM so I could get the cash for the fare.
This is by far the worst car service I’ve ever used. I recommend you stay far, far away.

Not a particularly terrible experience but something could certainly be better here.
PROS:
–Cheap transport to/​from the airport.
–Generally on time.
–Cars are cleaner than some I’ve seen.
CONS:
–Drivers are not explicitly good at their job (ie driving), a lot of phone calls and coffee action on my last trip. When I asked the driver for «a little less cell phone and a little more paying attention» he pretended not to understand what I was saying and asked if he should turn the radio down.
–They pretend they don’t speak English.
–Call for a reservation and perhaps they don’t speak English.
–Website cryptic and somewhat unfriendly.
–Twitter account constantly post about being ripped off by another company. I don’t know what that’s about and don’t care.

I never write reviews on here, let alone would think of writing poorly of someone, but I was appalled by the service I received here. My mom used this car service to pick her up from the airport when she came to visit me, which worked out perfectly, however she had to catch an early morning flight when leaving, and the driver almost made her miss it even though she had called the night before. I figured s**t happens every now and then, so I thought I’d give them another try when I was in a pinch and had to get to work quickly (work in the financial district). Gave a call, they told me 15 minutes. He took a half hour. Then I was going to catch an early train to Long Island from Atlantic Terminal another time. Thought I’d treat myself to a car ride to make it less stressful. After more than an hour of waiting past the given time (during which I had called 3 times), nobody showed up and they stopped answering the phone and had a full voicemail/​answering machine so I couldn’t even do the courteous thing and cancel my ride. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Never ever ever calling this place again.

This guy is horrible. He tries to do too much himself. The cars are consistently late with pickups even when calling well ahead of desired pickup time. I’ve missed too many appointments and received too many slaps on the wrist at work for being late because of Abatar Car Service. Stay away! There are plenty other car services in the area to justify avoiding this one at all costs.

This is my go-​to car service. I’m now a «regular.». Roger and his team have taken me to weddings, showers and most importantly to work in the city numerous times. They have a knack for showing up quick and getting me to work on time on days that I wake up late. The cars are clean, the people are friendly and I always feel safe and arrive on time. What more could you ask for? A+

Writing this as I’m sitting in the back of the car hoping, praying, wishing that I make my flight. Driver showed up half an hour late, couldnt help me with my bag bc he was too busy putting on his shirt in the car (which btw is currently unbuttoned!) and had to type in the address to JFK on his gps. What semi-​respectable cab driver in NY doesn’t know how to get to Kennedy!!!
Oh, and I’m almost positive dude was late bc he had a burning desire to stop for fast food. He won’t stop burping!!!
The fact that these guys are $ 5 cheaper than the competition isn’t worth it to me.

I’m about to use this car service to take me to the NYC triathlon at 3:45 in the morning. The service guy needs to get a better phone with better reception or something because I was having trouble hearing him. Also, I had to ask the price (instead of him telling me the price), and make sure he knew to call me when he was outside to pick me up. He seemed like a friendly person, though.
Overall, I’m grateful to find a brooklyn car service to take me at such an odd hour and all the way up to north manhattan. $ 15.00 is a steal!
I will review again about the actual pick up and service after the race tomorrow.
UPDATE: 1 hour later, I get a phone call from the nice man saying that the car that was supposed to pick me up is disabled and they cannot send another vehicle. I hope this company figures itself out soon! Would love to use them frequently!

i used the abatar car service twice, the first time it was good but the recent and LASt use was just a horror.
i reserved the car service for a minivan to JFK for 6 ppl n bags.
the owner/​driver (thats unclear) named ROGER is very rude on the phone, and his accent is heavy and unclear, every time i would say «pardon me» he would say ‚” do you even understand English my friend ?“
Ok so i reserved the pickup for 7.20 the guy wasn’t there at 7.20 wen i chkd, he did not call me wen he arrived (i live in an apartment) wen he did call me 15 mins late, and we were loaded up. he said he will charge me extra $ 20 just for waiting 20 minutes! AND that too at no fault of mine!
no such charge was mentioned during the reservation.
the van itself was poorly maintained and dirty.
when i protested the charge he just stopped the car in the middle of the road and threatened to chuck me out. going to the point saying I came at 7.22 that was the time decided. can you believe that? who sets a odd time like 7.22 haha? (i had no choice to comply as i had my Grand ma wit me and a lotta bags!). at JFK i tried to reason with him even offering him a 20% tip, but to no avail, at a point he even wanted to call the police on me! which never arrived (now im hoping they did come) he also was a bit racist saying this is not India OR Pakistan that you can do as you will? whr did that come from? + THIS guy did not give a receipt, no bill nothing just cash in hand. there is no ID displayed in the car and just a homemade nameplate.
all this when me and 3 of my friends have been customers just because of their cheaper cost.
I would NOT recommend this car service or at least THIS DRIVER, there is another guy who is OK (SITAR), but i am once bitten and twice sorry now.

I recently called Abatar for a late night pick-​up at JFK. Calling in a reservation was easy. Don’t be put off by the straight-​up man who answers. He may be scary-​sounding but very direct and professional.
They have online reservations also but it was a little confusing and I wasn’t sure if the reservation went through. They called back to confirm though so that was a plus.
Since it was a pick-​up at JFK, they said to call when we’re ready to be picked up. I called them when we got our luggages and about 10 minutes later, a minivan from Abatar arrived. The driver got out and helped us with the luggages. The van was clean and did not smell like smoke or food or anything nasty. The radio was never on and the driver did not talk on his cellphone.
I confirmed with the driver if he had the address and he said he did. I knew the fastest way to the apartment from JFK and he went through the same way, which was a relief since it was already past midnight at that point. He kept within the speed limit and we felt safe inside the van. He dropped us off outside my apartment and helped us with the luggages again.
It’s one of the cheaper car services to and from the airport and I will definitely be requiring their services again next time.
