These guys are amazing.
This is the first time I used professional movers and I am so glad I chose these guys. Right from the get go, Matt very efficient in helping me out with the quote and the CODs.
Both the guys who were here for the move were quick and efficient. It took 3.5 hours to move from UES to Harrison in NJ including travel time.
This is the best priced and the most efficient service you will get in NYC area. These guys are awesome! Highly recommended.

Travis and his crew did an excellent job with our 1-​bedroom apartment move. They were prompt and cheerful despite many stairs and a very cold day. The estimated time and cost were right on target (which was about 75% or less the cost of what we were quoted elsewhere.) They moved both delicate and heavy items well and also accommodated some last minute requests.

Get There Moving helped my boyfriend and I move from Greenpoint to South Slope in April 2015. They were great to work with — reliable, efficient and all around cool dudes. I would totally recommend them to anyone who needs help moving. Their costs are fair and I really don’t have anything bad to say about them. If you’ve been burned by other not-​so-​good movers in the past, do yourself a favor and hire these guys for your next move.

My move went so well! I was incredibly pleased with everything. The movers arrived on time and were super nice. Everything was quick, but they also paid careful attention to all my things. In total, the move only took an hour and a half! Before this experience, I said I would never pay movers again, but now I’ll never move again without Get There Movers!

I had a great move with these guys! Preparation and paperwork (including certificates of insurance for both buildings) was super easy — in fact, I did it poolside from my vacation in Mexico! They showed up right on time (a little early in fact), and the move went really smoothly. The guys were friendly and quick. I did encounter one problem, a lamp was broken during the move, but Ed gave me a number of options including having them repair my lamp or paying for a new one, and I was able to quickly resolve the issue to my satisfaction.

Couldn’t be better. Jose, Ben and Alex just moved our daughter today. They were friendly, careful, efficient, and competent. Matt in the office handled all the preparation/​communication beforehand. Everything went exactly as planned; communication was great. I contacted them online 3 days before I needed the move, and heard from back within hours. Will use them again.

I called on a Thursday Friday and was able to get movers by Friday afternoon to move my apartment. The move was seamless and quick. The deposit and payment process was easy. The team was very positive, quick and accommodating. I had a great experience.

Truly exceptional speed, efficiency, and professionalism despite a move of three roommates from a third floor walk-​up railroad apartment with skinny, winding hallways. I’ve always had a do-​it-​myself attitude about moving and was reluctant to shell out money to have someone else do it for me. But the guys arrived promptly as scheduled and the entire process seemed to be over in the blink of an eye. They were lightning fast without sacrificing care of our items and attention to detail. Even though we seriously underestimated the number of boxes we’d be moving, they finished up an hour earlier than they had quoted us… So satisfied with our experience that we paid for the extra hour anyways. Will call them without question if I move within the city again.

The team was great. Not only did they arrive on time and get to work, but when they accidentally took a part with them, they came back a couple days later to drop it off. The whole process was a positive experience. I would hire these guys again in a second!

We moved on a horrible rainy day in Brooklyn and these guys were amazing! They busted their butts and made sure everything was wrapped, sealed, taped and protected and delivered :-). Also, while sweating bollocks and heaving heavy furniture up steep stairs fast as they could, they were still the nicest, most pleasant gentlemen to boot! We felt totally in good hands and they made the stressfulness of moving so much better. There’s no way we could have moved all our stuff ourselves and the effort they put in was mind blowing. So grateful to have found these awesome guys!

I had a really great experience with these guys. I started off on Unilocal,reading reviews about a good mover for Brooklyn. I liked their reviews because they were mainly 5 or 4 stars, and they had no horror stories like some of the other well-​reviewed moving companies.
Before the move, Matt was really responsive via e-​mail or on the phone, and helped me figure out both a flat-​rate and an hourly fee. Unlike other moving companies, they offered a discount for moving Tuesday-​Thursday, which I loved, and they did two instead of three movers based on the size of my move (I liked this because overall tipping was less). The hourly rate they quoted me for a Tuesday move was fantastic (100 $/​hour, no extra travel fees or anything), and then just by taking pictures of my stuff, he gave me a flat rate of 350 $. My partner and I decided to play it safe and go with the flat-​rate since we were moving out of the 4^th floor of a walk-​up and moving a significant distance away from our old apartment.
As the day of the move came, my partner and I sat nervously in our living room, hoping that this move would go smoothly. We were moving out of a building with super narrow hallways, and like I said, fourth floor walk-​up, and we didn’t know what to expect.
The moving team, led by Brandon, came right on time, and immediately put me at ease. They didn’t bat an eyelash at the fourth floor walk-​up, and immediately went to work. We even had some extra stuff in our move versus what we originally thought we would have, and they didn’t mind at all. They worked hard, wrapped all of our things to keep them safe, and even helped take the arms off of a sofa that was too big to get out the door and put the sofa back together on the other side of the move. They let me ride with them in the 3-​seater moving van to the new place, and really just treated me great through the whole process. It felt more like respectful friends were moving us (except I didn’t have to do any work). They got us moved into our new apartment super smoothly (we have elevators now, woo-​hoo), they handled parking great on both sides of the move.
In the end, our one-​bedroom move went so smooth and we are so happy to be in our new apartment. I highly recommend these guys as being incredibly affordable, reliable, and friendly.

We had the best experience from the time I looked for a quote until we were unloaded at our new home. The quote process was easy, got a response the day I requested a quote and had all of my questions answered immediately. For the deposit, I didn’t have to give anyone my credit card info because they went through square, which I loved because I hate giving that kind of info over email, it was secure and you get a receipt.
I also asked to change some details before «signing» the contract and it was done ASAP, no hassles or shady replies.
Travis and Patrice were our movers. They. Are. The. Best. So polite, friendly, efficient, and helpful. I’ve moved three times and these guys, by far, were the best. In general it’s hard to find people with positive attitudes, these guys have positive attitudes while hauling around all of your poorly packed stuff around for the day. We even had a bar that we needed them to move into our basement, it weighed like 500 lbs, and they did it with no sighs, no complaints… They were actually laughing. Unbelievable. Great guys.
Completely fairly priced and worth every penny.

Get There Moving did a move for my husband and I back in July, and it all went extremely smoothly. They were on time, they did the job very quickly (given that it was between two walkups), they protected/​padded everything that needed it. They were also very professional throughout the whole process, very responsive to my many emails, and the rates were very fair.
Would definitely use them again next time I have to move.

Julian and crew handled a very difficult move of heavy furniture and boxes from one third floor walk up to another between NJ and Brooklyn for me. The team had positive attitudes, and they were polite and professional. They took extra measures to protect my custom pieces and understood how nervous I was.
I would hire these guys again in a second!

My move with Travis and Emmitt went so shockingly smooth. I oversee corporate moves as part of my job, and they’re always so nerve-​wracking. Doubly so when it’s your own precious stuff, like the ceramic wizard you made in 10^th grade who’s been a staple in every apartment you have lived in since. These two quickly showed me I had nothing to worry about, not even the wizard.
I underestimated how much stuff I’d end up with during the quote process, but they got everything from the Upper East Side to Fort Greene even quicker than originally estimated. They were also the lowest price quoted – no charge for packing materials like tape and blankets, and no Manhattan or driving time surcharges.
Docking one star for one minor annoyance: the wardrobe box I requested ended up being super tiny compared to ones I’ve used in the past. I could’ve used at least another two, which they didn’t have on hand.
Overall, would absolutely use again and/​or recommend to any friends moving in the NYC area.

Like everyone else (except these guys, apparently), I hate moving. And like another reviewer on here, I generally don’t like paying for things I can do myself. I initially didn’t think hiring movers was worth it, but eventually my boyfriend and I decided to hire movers to combine our apartments because doing it alone or depending on friends to help sounded absolutely miserable and also like a recipe for disaster. SPOILER ALERT: IT WAS WORTH IT.
You have to fill out an online form to get a quote, which involves estimating how many boxes and pieces of furniture you have — I was a little worried about estimating correctly, so I followed up with a really long and rambling note about how I wasn’t exactly sure how much stuff we’d have. Matt followed up with a quote within 15 minutes and assured me that as long as the estimate was relatively accurate, it’d be fine.
The quote was between 2 – 3 hours to combine two apartments (bedrooms, really — we didn’t have much furniture between the two of us) at $ 120/​hr, 2-​hour minimum.
For reference, our individual apartments were about two miles apart (Bed-​Stuy and Prospect Lefferts Gardens), and our new place is in the middle (Crown Heights). I couldn’t fathom how this move would take between 2 – 3 hours because it absolutely would have taken us all day.
BUT THEY DID IT. It took Emmett and Scott 2 hours and 15 minutes and they charged us for 2 hours. That plus tip totaled $ 300 — it was an *extremely* hot and humid day (September 1^st), so we tipped $ 30 each. They were totally upfront with the cost and it was an incredibly good deal considering how excellent they were.
They gave us a 2 hour window for showing up – between 11am and 1pm — and they arrived at 11:30, calling 45 minutes before to give me an update.
My room was packed into the van within 20 minutes and my boyfriend’s room took about 35 minutes. Those times included wrapping some furniture in pads and shrink wrap and we each lived on the second floor of our respective apartments. Our new place was on the 5^th floor with a small elevator, and they had a great system for unloading and getting everything inside efficiently and safely («We have a system for everything!»).
Emmett and Scott were SO friendly, reassuring, and easy-​going. I was worried that the elevator in our new building was too small, but they totally rolled with it. We got them some water and snacks and everyone was happy.
I’m recommending them to all of my friends, and if we ever move again in NYC we’ll hire them again, no question.

I hate moving. I have two cats, so not only does packing and schlepping all my stuff stress me out, it stresses my cats out – which, in turn, stresses me out even more.
I also hate paying for things I can do myself, like eggs and toast at a diner, or moving companies when I can just rent a U-​Haul and guilt some friends into helping out.
All of that being said, I would highly recommend Get There Moving. From the initial email, they were friendly, prompt, and efficient – all things I value in movers. They worked with me on how many movers to get in order to be within my price range, and the rates were quite fair. As for the day of the move…
Corey and Zach were great! They both showed up smiling, worked very fast and very efficiently, and we had the whole move done in under 3 hours (I expected it to take 3 – 4 hours with 3 movers). I’m not sure what I expected, but two friendly guys who were good at what they do has NOT necessarily been my experience with movers before, so this was a real pleasure. .. Well, as much as moving ever can be.
Honestly though, we completed the move and I felt at peace the entire time. It was nothing short of a miracle. My cats, on the other hand, well. .. They’re still a bit traumatized. But, you know, because cats.
Side note: do not be afraid to help! They appreciate it (so long as you basically know what you’re doing), and it saves you money if you get the move done faster.

These guys are saints, helped with my move 08÷03÷15 and my roommates a couple days prior. Nicest guys, so pleasant and super fast. I recommend them to everyone. Scott rules I forgot the other guys name (sorry I am horrible) anyways long story short USE GET THERE MOVING!

These guys are the only movers I will ever call. I went with them last summer on my move from New Jersey to Astoria, Queens, and just this past weekend again to go from Astoria to Bensonhurst. Both times I was a nervous/​anxious wreck on moving day, both times the crew showed up and was super nice, extremely fast & efficient, and relieved so much stress I can’t even explain it. This last one was by far the easiest move I’ve ever experienced, we were done in 2.5 hours and my mother (who helped me with a few things that day) and I were cracking open the inaugural beers at 1pm!
Truly cannot be beat. THANK YOU GUYS!!!

Travis and the rest of the crew for Get There Moving was great — they were right on time, super agreeable on a HOT day and many stairs both down and up. (I wish I hadn’t packed all my glasses so I could have given them water instead of just ice cubes!) Fast, too. The whole one-​bedroom move took four hours in the East Village.
All my stuff survived intact, and the price was great, too. I’d highly recommend them.
