Just brought my two new cats-​boys to this place. My previous Vet. Passed away and I found myself in a pretty stressful place. 2 kittens overdue for a surgery and no Vet. I did very thorough research on the Internet and eventually after I called each and every place I had considered I made my mind and I was not disappointed at the end of the day. I will absolutely return back when the time will come. Thank you very much for your stressful job.

Hi, if you want to get the best care for your pets, please come here! I have had 3 cats over the last 15 years that have been taken care of by Dr Kaufman and Dr. Jaffe. They truly care about the cats and dogs. My cat Tyler needed emergency surgery on New Years eve and the office had closed 1 hour earlier. Frantic, we kept calling praying that someone would pick up. Anthony did pick up and was able to page Dr. Kaufman. He told us to bring him right in, imagine, New Years Eve, and Dr. Kaufman dropped his plans to help our cat (took 3 hours) He saved his life! They even called for 3 days after to check on Tyler. The staff are wonderful and patient (Joanne, Anthony and Stuart) So thankful that we found this place!

I am so thankful to them for taking care of our dog. They removed a minimum of 5 tumors from him, one of which ruptured, and based on the biopsy, one was low grade cancer. Within a week, our dog is currently back to his peppy self (and snacking the plastic cone around the house).
When I found out that our dog needed surgery, I was at work and in the middle of meetings. I texted a crazy amount of questions to my brother, but in the end, called the office. The doctor was amazingly helpful and answered all of my questions thoroughly (there were many).
To top it off, they stayed true to their quote, and it was not outrageous for the amazing work they did (but every bill hurts your wallet).

I am deeply grateful to Dr. Kaufman and his assistant Anthony for the outstanding care given to my 13 year old German shepherd, Roxie, during a recent emergency. I called MVU Veterinary Services of Brooklyn for the first time this past Thursday after my family and I had spent a sleepless night with Roxie, who suddenly became lethargic, had no appetite for food or water, and then could not get up. She was languishing in the same position for hours, and I could not lift her to bring her to the office. My heart was breaking for her and I felt helpless. While typically MVU does not make house calls on Thursdays and the office closes early that day, Dr. Kaufman was so kind and agreed to come to my home. He came along with his wonderful assistant, Anthony, shortly after office hours, and he performed a comprehensive examination on Roxie. Dr. Kaufman was extremely thorough with the physical exam — also taking temperature and blood. He gave Roxie a steroid injection, and then called us back within an hour to tell us the results of the blood test. She began taking the medications that Dr. Kaufman prescribed, and Roxie has fully regained her appetite and has even begun walking again. Dr. Kaufman was so compassionate that he called us on Friday and Saturday to see how Roxie was doing! This was my very first experience with MVU Veterinary Services of Brooklyn, and my entire family is so deeply appreciative to Dr. Kaufman for his empathetic and outstanding treatment of our Roxie!!! We will certainly be bringing Roxie ONLY to MVU from now on, and highly recommend them!

Dr. Kaufman came highly recommended. I’m new to the area and when my shih tzu developed an what appeared to be an eye infection I looked for a vet closer to home but no one would see me for several days. However, when I called MVU they understood an eye issue was urgent and I had an appointment for the following morning.
The wait time was minimal. My dog was handled gently and with care by Dr. Kaufman and his tech, given a general examination, and eye exam where Dr. Kaufman found a corneal ulcer, as well as another eye issue. I was prescribed medication and advised to seek follow-​up. Cost of the services was very affordable, and reasonable. All tests and medications prescribe were specific to the problem. I was advised to treat the eye, and follow-​up in about a week. The treatment was successful, his eye healed, and now we’re going forward with treatment for his other, non-​urgent, issue.
I’ll be happy to make Dr. Kaufman and his staff at MVU my new regular vet. I’m very grateful for the services provided, and so is my little buddy.

Worst vet I have ever been to. Dr. Kaufman was my dog’s second opinion & I wish I never stepped foot into this office. He is very rude and it seems like he cares more about money than caring for my pet. He rushed me to do a blood work on my dog the very first day as if I had made up my mind of what vet I wanted claiming that he wants to get it over with. Rushing me to do the blood work made him $ 165 richer. Then my dad and I go to his office because my dog was supposed to have surgery that day and he didn’t even have a set time for us to bring my dog in. I had to call at a certain time in the afternoon & then they called to make me bring my dog in right away. He has us wait in the waiting room for a half hour because he was on the phone. My dad took my dog outside for a walk & dr. kaufman comes to me & said so I need a deposit or the entire thing so have your dad come in. Dr kaufman had an attitude right from the start & had the nerve to say my dog was vicious since on my dog’s first visit when they gave him blood work, he stuck my dog with a needle TWICE & hurt my dog. It wasn’t until the 2^nd needle stick that worked. His assistant & himself wouldn’t allow me to stay near my dog to calm him down because they were convinced that my own dog would bite me. He even told my dad that I can’t control my dog when they wouldn’t even allow me to. I don’t understand how any customer brings their animal here. worst vet, worst experience & definitely never coming here ever again. I found a place much cheaper who would do the surgery for $ 282 instead of the $ 500 that dr. kaufman wanted to charge me after I already paid $ 215 for blood & the office exam!

You know that feeling you’ve truly been «blessed» when that perfect person comes into your life (you never thought you’d find) to care for your loved ones… That’s exactly what we found when we were referred to Dr. Kaufman and his Team at MVU, who have been caring for my Shih Tzu, ELLA, for over 10 years. This team includes all such lovely, warm, animal loving people. We were referred to him in a time of distress after we found a small cyst on Ella’s leg. Her previous Vet said they’d have to remove a large part of her leg to avoid any further growth. We can’t tell you how relieved we were when Dr. Kaufman gave his signature «don’t worry»…it ended up only being a skin thing that never amounted to anything. Thank god we didn’t put her under the knife! Through years of annual visits, dental cleanings/​extractions, minor treatment for ear infections, skin irritations, a few minor scares, Dr. Kaufman has always been the type we could put our utmost trust in. He has years of experience and great credentials (from one of the top Vet Schools Cornell). He’s never had us take any overpriced or unnecessary treatment. He’s completely in touch with the animals, down to earth and simply tells it like it is! You know he will only have you worry when it’s time to worry. We’re forever grateful. Trust me, if you want the BEST care for your animal, look no further.

Coming here for years and got pretty disappointed with the last experience. Completely misdiagnosed even after xrays. Ended up in the emergency hospital where the problem was identified with just a simple physical exam.

Used them to euthanize our 13 year old dog at home. They came at a scheduled time, were proffesional, compassionate and quick. I would highly recommend them.

Big receptionist is the most disgusting person i have ever met. She is so rude, one time i just came home from school so i thought I’d stop by and get an appointment instead of calling. The receptionist gave me a nasty attitude saying, «Well you need to call and make an appointment before you come in here». Umm… are you serious? Another time i had to drop off a stool sample to be examed… usually after a certain time frame the stool will not yield accurate results. I called every day and they kept saying they didn’t test it yet. On the 7^th day, whoever was on the phone just said a quick, «Negative» and hung up. Is this how you run a business?

Here goes. I have 3 cats. I figured it would be alot easier for me to have a house call and get all three checked at the same time then to take one at a time to a vet. I was willing to pay the extra money (just under $ 500) for the convenience. Nothing is wrong with the cats… I just thought they could use a check up (like I go to my GP each year). Anyway, I made an apppointment. Since they only do this during the day and not on the weekends, I had to leave work early. Between the 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm window, they arrived at 4:00. Now I spoke with his office three times before the vet’s assistant phoned to tell me they were on the way. He also asked me if the cats were confined in the bathroom. Huh? How do you get THREE cats into a bathroom at the same time? I told him no, that I didn’t know I had to do that. Anyway, they came. The vet freaks out when he finds out the cats aren’t confined in the bathroom. He proceeds to lecture me about the danger my cats would be to me if I tried to catch one at a time and that he was responsible if anything happens to me and on and on. Then he charges me $ 50. Since he didn’t even look at any of my cats, I guess the charge was for his lecture. I was just happy to get him out of my house. So here’s the thing, if I had been told when I first made the appointment that I would have to confine my cats in the bathroom, I never would have made the appointment. Since I spoke with his office THREE times before the actual appointment, they had plenty of time to tell me this. I was a new patient after all. In addition, I found the vet very condescending. I don’t know how this vet got such good recommendations (bribery maybe?), but if I could give 0 stars, I would have.

Words can not express how much I appreciate Dr. Kaufman, Dr. Jaffe, and the staff at MVU. We have been taking our cat Fried Rice here since moving to the area a few years ago and they have been making sure our kitty has been healthy and treated with the best care.
A couple weeks ago, we had to take our cat in for an emergency urinary blockage. Dr. Kaufman and his team worked with us for 3 very stress filled and emotional days to make sure our cat would be able to pee freely again. I can not express how grateful I am of everyone at MVU for taking care of our fur baby. Our cat likes everyone there!

I have been using MVU for over 20 years and I recommend all my friends and family. They treat my family and fur babies like they are their own. The dr’s always try their hardest to keep cost down and provide the best treatment. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

We have been using Mobile Vet for many, many years. When our vet was on vacation I had to call because one of our dogs was sick. I cannot begin to tell you what shabby treatment we received from one of the office workers. We are on disability and politely asked if we could have a script so that we could send away for the pet meds. Stuart’s response was, «so because you cant afford it – you want us to lose money». along with many other not-​nice words… I called to speak to our vet when he got back and apparently he had been given the ‘staff’s’ side of the story. The Vet called me back today and yelled at me like I have never been yelled at in my life [ and I am not a youngster] …not even giving me a chance to tell my side of the story. He told me to get a new vet and I will… He has always been a wonderful doctor and friend. I am crying because I care what he thinks. This is what happens when you give a staff too much confidence. Too bad. I would definitely NOT recommend this place to anyone anymore. They are stale.
Please keep in mind that we travel from Staten Island to Brooklyn, their office. I have had only had the utmost respect and trust in Dr. Kaufman. To think that staff can take over and treat people shabbily because they just can is a shunder. I feel terrible that I did not get a chance to speak my truth, but I will.
If Dr. Kaufman sees this, I would appreciate a call so that I can let you know exactly what happened and then we can go own own ways. After almost 40 years this is a hell of a way to part ways… especially over lies.

I’ve never had problems with the care, I’ve gotten plenty of shots and spay/​nueters here with ok results. However, I have had continuous problems with the heavyset lady with blonde hair and glasses at the front desk. On several occassions I’ve gone in and had to deal with her miserable and condescending attitude, but this last time takes the cake. After spending over a thousand dollars in the last 3 years on multiple cats, I had to write this. Not only did she yell at me in front of other customers, she belittled me and talked to me like I was 12 yrs old and why? Because, even though I had just spent $ 185, I owed a $ 45 overdue balance from the previous year (where I spent $ 400). Never mind that I also just scheduled 2 cats for the next day (another $ 220) it made no diffrence. She was also beyond annoyed when I offered to leave my cat there and pick him up the next day with the money (including another $ 50 boarding fee), then finally, she says in a rude, judgemental voice «just take the cat, but it ain’t right» shaking her head at me. All of this while a Doctor was a few feet away not saying a word) Very disappointing. First of all if you dont like you job, then quit. Second of all, you work in a medical environment, learn some courtesy and professionalism! I was so pissed! I definitely didn’t bring my cats back the next day and am I thinking about going to pay that $ 45 balance directly to the doctors and let them know why I am considering finding a new place for my kitties. I dont know if vet techs are that hard to get nowadays, but I will say this, I dont appreciate being treated like dirt over $ 45 when I have spent plenty. I will say this, the next time I cross paths with this bi-​polar vet tech from hell, she better be ready for a taste of her own medicine because I won’t be so gracious… In the meantime, any suggestions for a friendlier vet in South Brooklyn please shoot me a message. I absolutely love this place. When I first started coming here I lived about seven blocks away — since then I have moved to Bay Ridge but there is no way that I would consider looking for another vet. As long as I live in Brooklyn, this is where I will be going.
Every single member of the staff is amazing. They are super friendly, very sweet and every single one of them love and know a great deal about animals.
I have been taking my dogs here for the past four years — when I first came I had two dogs, both of which they knew by name — it seems they remember every single dog they have ever worked on — it is such a personal service that when one of my dogs passed they were about as heartbroken as I was. I board my other dog here fairly often and they are always super excited that she is coming.
Just as importantly they are also incredibly affordable. On numerous occasions the doctors have found ways to make surgeries as cheap as possible for me — especially for my old dog, who was about 14 years old when she died. They did everything they could to keep her healthy.
Both doctors Jaffe and Kauffman are very nice and reassuring doctors who are very professional and have been working at this location since 1975. I like them more than most doctors I have seen for myself.
