this place short changes people! it happened to me once but i thought it was just a mistake, then saw another guy get short-changed 5bucks, confront the staff and have them begrudgingly give back the 5 while LAUGHING at him and talking about him to each other in arabic in a really rude way. besides that, the staff can be obnoxious with unasked for comments. it’s like some spoiled-brat kids of the owner running the place or something?.. so weird!

This place is pretty convenient, being next to the subway and also the closest deli from my house. But I usually pass on it because the other 2 deli’s within a blocks reach have cheaper stuff. Whenever I get my daily newspaper, the cashier(teenage looking) guy always attempts to flirt with me and try to harass me. Its disgusting which is why i currently avoid coming here unless my dad comes as well.

This joint has tons of stuff, decent coffee and their sandwiches are pretty awesome. I have had probably 10 sandwiches since the place was renovated — and each was good. 2 eggs + cheese on a roll for $ 3 and I’m full for hours! You can’t beat that. I haven’t been short changed once, so YMMV.

These bastards short changed me three times in the last few months for about 40 bucks. Same thing happened to some other guys who go there. Make sure you count your change. Since the old owners sold the store years ago it hasn’t been the same. Go down he block to the deli next to Pizza Den that deli got you covered.

Extremely busy mini-mart on the corner of one of the more frantic train stations in the neighborhood. Right at the bottom of the stairs of the 18th avenue station of the D train, Quik Pick is a reliable spot for your simple needs like a quick drink, newspaper, candy and they excel in tobacco products and lotto. Great spot to get a cigar, chewing tobacco or rolling paper, and definitely a lotto headquarters. They have more scratch-offs than any other place i’ve ever seen. The lines for lotto go out the door when the mega millions and powerball go high. They also have a small section now for sandwiches and bagels and they also are a busy spot for a cheap cup of coffee. They rent the outside space in the front of the store for people to sell discount fruit which is usually pretty good. It’s a trustworthy, go-to spot.
