South Bay Liquor Store

THE PREMIERE store in the southbay for Craft Beer Enthusiast. I was recently there and scored Blind Pig and Pliny the Elder. Hard to get beers that they carried. I had to ask for the Pliny, but they were quick and attentive to assist. I am a fan, and I will be keeping this spot as my go to for all my craft beer releases!

We usually get out craft beer from here. They post on Instagram pretty often, so they’re constantly posting what new beer they have out or any deal. Every now and then they do mystery boxes where they put a variety of craft beers in a box, for a fair price. They guys that work there are pretty nice, never rude, so the customer service is good to.

Nice group of people working there, always start up conversations with me or my brother, and have an awesome selection of everything. Keeps our items we get on an almost daily basis in stock and ready for us ! Great guys!

Went here in search of a Pliny The Elder, was happy to find that they had it. When I asked the cashier if they had Pliny he gave me no response as the other cashier went to the back to get a Pliny. Already having chosen another beer I decided to put that one back for the Pliny. The second cashier came back with Pliny and rang me up. He noticed I had put my other beer back and told me next time I wanted to buy a Pliny that I had to buy a beer at equal value with a bitchy attitude. I thanked him multiple times for letting me still purchase the beer but he gave me no response all he gave me was a pouty face. When he gave me my change I gave him an extra dollar to wipe his aching pussy with. Word of advice don’t be rude to your customers their the reason your doors are open.

Extensive craft beer selection and friendly owner always willing to help and talk beer with you. Came in with a friend looking to become enlightened about sour brews and we came out with a couple that did not disappoint. Thanks for the help! Will be returning soon! Probably the best liquor store/​beer store in south San Diego !

This is my fav LBS. I am always able to find what im looking for and always at a reasonable price. Their craft beer selection is on point. They always have new releases and the shop workers are all very educated friendly and appreciative of your business. If your looking for a bottle chances are its here. 5 stars for awesome customer service and an overall quality shop.

The staff is really friendly and helpful and the prices are competitive. You seriously can’t find a better selection of beer in the area.

First time here, and first word that comes to mind is WOW. The selection of craft beer is impressive, and the employees are not only knowledgable, but very friendly. I was looking for some sours; the owner asked me a few questions to get a feel for my preference and proceeded to recommend several that I ended up purchasing. If you’re a beer lover or just a casual, don’t miss out on this place!

My first expereince here wasn’t a bad one came back a couple of months later and was pleasantly suprised with how nice everyone was and the recommendations they gave were spot on. Asked if they Carried pliny (my gfs favorite beer) and he said yeah and he pulled two out of stock and made me me the best bf for a day. I beleive there was a misunderstanding on my first trip there about the modern times cans i was just never offered to buy a 4 pack nor did i ask so i guess it was just a mistake. Every time ive been back they’ve been helpful and knowledgeable so 5 stars.

These guys have done a great job revamping their store from a lil corner store liquor stop to a top shelf craft beer and spirits spot!
The have a great selection of beers and spirits and are always willing to help make recommendations for you or to even find what you’re looking for. These guys also do fun stuff like putting together mystery 12 packs and giving away Padre tickets!
It’s nice having a place in the South Bay to get good craft beer and spirits since there really isn’t much down here.

Never in a million years would I have guessed there was a craft beer/​liquor store in Chula Vista! This place is amazing and the staff are extremely knowledgeable on even the most obscure craft beers on the shelves. I personally believe they have a better beer selection then Bevmo. They recently remodeled the interior and added more coolers for beverages so defiantly go in and check out the selections. You wont be disappointed.

I have been going here for quite a few years now and I can honestly say that it is the best place to get Craft Beer in the South Bay. Chula Vista’s other liquor stores have nothing from this place. From the selection to the customer service this place is A+. The Salem Brothers definitely know how to run a business. They also price their beers fairly, never ridiculously overpriced which I love.
If you’re looking for a place to get your craft beer in the South Bay area be sure to make a trip to South Bay Liquor, you will be happy that you made the trip.

I became a fan of craft beer early this year and I make the trip from La Jolla (UTC) just to get their beer. Love the selection and the staff is very educated in helping you pick the right beers. Great prices too — highly recommend this place!

This is usually the very first place i go to when im looking for a certain craft beer as they seem to always have what im looking for, especially local stuff like Pizza Port Cans!
Not only do they have aisles and aisles of craft beers, but the owner (jonny), really knows his stuff and is a good person to ask if youre not sure about a certain beer or just not sure what youre looking for (happens to me all the time)
As a side note, Walked in there the other day and they they are remodeling the store and just got new coolers, looks really good, cant wait to see it when its finished.

My boyfriend and I go to South Bay Liquor whenever we are looking for a bottle of good beer. There is a great selection and a lot of cold bottles. When I had an issue getting the beer that I called an asked for the owner made it right.

An awesome place in South Bay to buy beer. They have a large selection of local and foreign beers at decent prices. Staff is very friendly.

This store has to be the reigning Champion of Beers! Any kind your heart desires can be found among the aisles of this craft beer heaven. Their selection of beers is top notch. Hands down one of the best in San Diego County. They’ve dedicated several doors in the cooler section to top sellers; but don’t fret my pet, South Bay keeps the dry shelves stocked to the max! Sours to Stouts, Domestics to double IPAs, bottles galore!
Not only will your beer craving be satisfied, but they also have a large selection of hard alcohol.
I’m not gonna lie, I come here for the brews and Mexican Candy :)
Joe and Jonny know more than a thing or two about beer and will school you on some $hit. They are very friendly and take customer service to another level. They do their best to get all the new releases and will find something for you if they do not have it in stock.
I drive 30 minutes to browse their shelves and if you love your craft beer as much as I do, I suggest you do the same. You will have a smile from ear to ear and no doubt will need a box to carry all your finds out of this Brewha treasure chest!
