Seventh Tea Bar

Amazing service and quality! This tea bar is located in the OC Mix, which I usually associate with overpriced novelty items and as being a hipster Mecca. However, there are a few shops/​restaurants that offer their niche craft in reason. Seventh Tea bar is one of those spots. These teas range from $ 3 to over $ 15 For loose leaf teas but the quality is amazing. The teas are delicate, refreshing, and flavorful without jeopardizing balance.
Beyond their teas, they also offer 2 options for «tea service». The option that we enjoyed offered 1 choice of tea, 2 spreads, 2 tea sandwiches, and 2 pastries which was more that enough for 2 people. The seating area is nice and spread out with outdoor seating available as well.
I will definitely be returning next time a craving for fine tea comes around.

I’ve tried calling the number posted on Unilocal and their Facebook page for several days now to inquire about reservations. Their line is constantly busy. Their website does not work. I messaged them through Unilocal as I had no other means of communication. The stated response time was 10 hours. It is now 24 hours and I have yet to receive a response. I don’t live close by and need to make reservations for my best friend who will be visiting and is on a tight schedule. Their inconvenience, sloppy online presence, and lack of customer service has just lost them (two) potential new patrons.

Such a gem in the OC Mix! They really know their tea and you will be sure to taste the best.
Not as popular as the Portola Coffee Lab next door but it should be.
Came here for my sister’s bachelorette lunch and we had this really quirky waiter who sang for us and was just really fun to talk to. Since there were a lot of us, we got a lot of sandwiches and pastries along with tea, and everything tasted spectacular. You can’t really go wrong with anything on the menu!

Great place for tea lovers. Modern people Will appreciate this place.
Finding new ways to brew Tea and or coffee like Portola Coffee Lab, enhances the consumers experience.
I ordered the Milk oolong and my GF got an Earl Grey tea. (Much recommended)
I would suggest to the brewers to be more welcoming and help out with selections and make the buyers experience better. After all it is a conceptual place and more interaction is better.
Or do as I did and ask about every equipment and ways to make Tea enjoyable.

Just came here today for a solo brunch at around 10:30am. I was very fascinated by the idea that they had ice tea on tap. The place itself was nicely decorated — definitely very trendy which fits in with the whole plaza.
They had a very simple menu about four-​five selection of sandwiches and I think that’s about it and a lot of choices for tea.
I had the Citrus Marinated Lox — it was pretty good but a little too heavy on the cream cheese and originally asked for iced Jasmine but the cashier said they only have that hot — and that the only iced teas they have are the ones that are already made — so he let me try a few and the one best was called Silk Pearl Oolong — very light and refreshing which is interesting for a black tea.
The service was alright. The place was pretty quiet since I guess it’s early and it’s a weekday.

I consume an ungodly amount of tea every week. I have a little bit of everything in my cabinets at home and even some from other countries that my father has brought back from his business trips. When I’m drinking tea, there are a couple of things I’m looking for but basically it comes down to the actual aroma and taste of the tea and then if it is made properly. I do think that Seventh Tea Bar is going for classier tea bar with their beautiful atmosphere and gorgeous silverware. My boyfriend and I came here for some tea and drank away with some delicious almond hummus from the Farmer’s Market.
My Oolong tea was hot and quite homey. My only complaint really is that it’s really hard to figure out what you’re drinking. They really need to put up some labels or something because it’s impossible to tell what kind of tea it is such as Black, or Green or White etc. Unless you know exactly what you’re looking for, or if you chat up the server, it would be difficult to figure out what to drink. Another complaint that I’ve heard from others is that they don’t serve milk or sugar with their tea. I don’t have a problem with that since I enjoy the raw taste of tea but I could see it being an issue for others. For about $ 5 a cup, I expect just a little more. ³⁄₅

So cool! Tea on tap?! Pretty great. We came here actually for Portola Coffee Lab and ended up seeing this place as well (right next to one another). They have all their teas out front in small airtight containers that you can open and smell in order to choose. The employee there was very helpful and sweet, even explained the process behind some of the tea leaves.
My friend ordered a rose/​floral tea and it was really great. Very tasty and it came in a cool lopsided mug (one side was higher than the other-​hard to explain but seriously rad). They have a bunch of seating, both inside and outside. We sat outside under the vine covered pergola and it was wonderfully relaxing and pleasant-​exactly how the drinking should be. Seventh Tea Bar for the win.

This place is so cute! Not to mention it’s inside The OC Mix plaza which is an adorable set-​up altogether.
I threw my friend’s bridal showers here and the staff was very nice and really accommodating! Julia answered all my questions and was a great help with setting it all up. We got the tea sets for each of our guests and the food and tea were delish.
Overall, I was very happy with Seventh Tea Bar. I highly recommend it for having your private events there.

The Seventh Tea Bar in The OC Mix is a good location, and the service is very friendly, happily refilling teapots with more hot water.
I’m not a tea drinker but tried one of their cookies which was tasty.
The parking is easy since it’s in The OC Mix and Seventh Tea Bar is located next to Portola Coffee Lab.

I love the atmosphere of the little shopping center, first of all.
Secondly and most importantly, I love coming here for tea. I tend to stick with green and white tea’s and my favorite is the jasmine dragon pearl tea.
When I first came here the staff were friendly and helpful and even gave me a few samples of the teas they had.
Thirdly, the rose and lavender macaroons are delicious!
I can’t wait to try all the teas throughout the year :).

Highly recommend this place for somewhere cute to study or to catch up with an old friend. The atmosphere is so welcoming and overall so nicely done (as is the rest of the OC Mix Mart.)
I ordered the Jasmine tea and it was great! Be careful of how hot it is though, I had to wait a while for the cup to cool down before I could hold the sides of it.
The service it’s great too. They are so helpful when you are choosing what to get, and overall just very friendly people. Can’t wait to come back :)

Their tea really hits the spot. I had asked the guy what he recommended for someone feeling a little sick/​with a cold, and he automatically knew which teas would help and what exactly they do for you. He also was kind enough to describe the differing flavors as well, so I’d have a better feel of the taste palette.
It was my first time here and I got a White Pekoe Tea, as he described as having a more floral flavor and adding that white teas have antioxidants in it. I could definitely feel my face becoming less flush and tense and more refreshed and calm. It had a nice subtle tea flavor and hit the spot. I’d love to try their other teas soon! Not to forget the lovely area the OC Mart Mix is located in, it’s a wonderful addition.

Have to say that the guy working behind the counter was pretty interesting. Seems to love to chat with whoever comes around, in a good way though.
We picked up some macaroons to go with some coffee and the pitaya bowl. Tasty, even though they were just coming out of the freezer. I’m glad the guy didn’t try to pass them off as freshly made, and was honest that the frozen macaroons would be a bit chewier etc. Still a good treat to have.

This place would blow any tea snob out of the water. I don’t know much about tea but I can taste and appreciate the taste and quality of the teas here. They’re all very aromatic. Service is excellent and the servers all dress very nicely. They had bow ties on.
The café itself is between birdies juicery and portfolio coffee. It’s very cute with black white and yellow accents. There’s also a patio area right outside. The whole space is very open.
They do offer tea service. I tried there macarons which tasted good but the almond was too coarse. The shell wasn’t the best texture I’ve ever tried.
I always like to get some of their teas on tap to go.

Coffee addicts are to Portola Coffee Lab as tea fanatics are to Seventh Tea Bar. Created by the same people of Portola Coffee Lab, the people of Seventh Tea Bar clearly did their research before opening this beauty. This sister store is adjacent to its older sibling, located in the OC Mart Mix.
As a person who normally opts for tea instead of coffee, I was excited to hear about this tea bar. I came here first with my husband and got a cup of Earl Grey tea (good!) then came back with the bestie and tried the $ 25 for 2 Tea Service. Awesome, awesome, awesome! While my first impression of Seventh was positive, my opinion of the tea bar increased even more after I tried the Tea Service. I DEFINITELY recommend trying the tea service, especially when you have 2 hours to spend catching up with a friend.
The $ 25 Tea Service is good for two people. It comes with your choice of tea and several sides. Trust me, after looking at the scrumptious pastries they had on display, I was looking forward to see what types of sides our tea will come with. The employees of Seventh Tea Bar will choose what sides they think best matches the tea you pick. We chose the Jasmine Pearls Dragon Phoenix which smelled – and tasted – wonderful by the way. After sitting, someone shortly came out and explained to us how long to brew the tea and how to pour the tea into our teacup. Then, another person came out with a 3-​tier plate of little side dishes. This was way more than we expected. From the Macho Man tea sandwich to the mini lemon tart pie, we were stuffed. Picture it: sipping warm fragrant tea, snacking on little sandwiches and breads with spread, people-​watching, and conversing about the little joys of life. This is a great afternoon treat.
I will be back again and again. 5 stars!

From the creators of Portola Coffee Lab, comes this amazing tea place. Upon stepping foot in this place, one of the barista’s immediately helped me and my boyfriend. He asked us if we needed any help. I proceeded to ask him what they were all about and he told me their story. Seventh Tea Bar was created with a similar premise as Portola, except with tea. They do similar brewing techniques with tea as they do with coffee. They are like Portola, craftsmen at what they do.
My boyfriend and I decided to go with the 25 $ tea service for two. This is very affordable compared to many tea houses out there. It came with two tea sandwiches, two types of breads, two spreads, and two desserts (or in our case 4 macarons). The barista who helped us was amazing. He was very knowledgeable about the teas and told us that the food will be paired based on the teas that we picked. You have a choice of iced tea (on tap) or hot tea. We decided on the cold tea. I got an green tea and my boyfriend a passion tea sprinters. Both were not sweet but nice to drink.
The food came out and our barista told us he paired the food based on our drinks. The food was atheistically appealing, placed on a three tier plate. The sandwiches were on the 1^st tier. Our sandwiches were the Salty sweet, riccota with apricot jam on a rye marble bread. This was scrumptious! Our second sandwich was the chicken tarragon, it had the chicken salad plus apple. Also very good, but the salty sweet was seriously to die for.
On the second tier we had our spreads and bread. We had a orange marmalade and a herb spread. Both of which were amazing. The herb particular had a subtle but appealing taste. Both spreads were paired with a flatbread and a french bread.
Our last tier had our macarons. We got two rasberrry, one strawbery, and one mango. We loved our macarons. These macarons were fluffy and not to dense. I loved it.
Like the barista told us, our food complemented very well with our drink choices.
This place definitely puts it’s customers first. They are very good at what they do and I am for sure certain that they will do just as well as Porta has.

To quote Cindy P. «I loved my experience here!». Been twice now. It’s owned by the same folks who own Portola. Just like Portola has fancy ways of brewing coffee these guys have fancy ways of brewing tea. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
First visit my wife and I were walking around OC Mart Mix and due to the scorching hot weather we noticed these guys have iced teas on tap with the big wooden handles you’d see on a beer tap. Not sure why but something cool about getting iced tea from a beer tap. We both had the Moroccan Mint which was extremely refreshing.
I had last Friday off and couldn’t decide what I wanted to for lunch. I knew I wanted something light but I also knew I wanted to head on over to OC Mart Mix to get some more cheese from «the Cellar Cheese shop». I was checking out the online menus for the eateries in the plaza and one item really peaked my interest. «Citrus Cured Salmon» tea sandwich. House cured wild salmon, dill cream cheese, shallot-​caper relish, shaved cucumber, arugula, heirloom tomato, and a side salad. Sounded perfect. It’s $ 8 and I thought it was a good sized sandwich, I’ve paid more for lox and bagels. The house cured salmon was frickin’ phenomenal. Some of the best cured salmon I’ve ever had. I was truly blown away by it. The shallot caper relish paired with it sooooo perfectly. My only complaint was the strange way they stuffed the sandwich which made it difficult to eat, but it allowed me to eat some of the amazing salmon on it’s own and then the remaining amount with the sandwich. It was presented so beautifully that two couples who walked past me and saw it on my plate stopped at the counter and said «I’ll have what he’s having!» The side salad was mixed spring greens, green apples, cucumber, and lemon tarragon vinaigrette. Tasty.
For my tea I just told the lady at the counter «I’ll leave it to you, whatever hot tea you think will go with my sandwich the best». She literally whipped out a chart and found a tea that would compliment the salmon. It was a «Pu-​Erh» type of tea. She told me twice what variety but I couldn’t retain it into short term memory so I have no idea what it was but it did go perfectly with my lunch.
To finish off my meal I had a made to order earl grey chocolate truffle. Rich, decadent, with a whisper of bergamot and tea flavor… just enough to intrigue the taste buds without overwhelming the chocolate.
Sad thing is after I finished my lunch I headed on over to Portola for a coffee chaser. I can’t visit the plaza without going to Portola.

$ 3 for the iced tea tap. My friends and I had the following three teas:
1. Early Grey
2. Lemon Ginger
3. Moroccan Mint
Early grey iced is quite different. It still has a flowery taste and it’s not sweet so you can drink as much as you want!
The Moroccan mint is exactly just like mint tea. So it’s refreshing.
Lemon Ginger was zingy in the first taste and you’re left with the ginger afterwards.
The macaroons were delicious too! I think it was 3 for $ 4.95 which is not bad ~ quite chewy and gooey in the middle :) hazelnut was awesome.

Open and ready for business!
If you’re a fan of the Portola and Theorem philosophy already, yet you don’t happen to be a coffee fan, then you’re in luck. Seventh Tea Bar, located directly next to Portola, delivers the same experience with a different medium. Here you will find a staff who is knowledgeable about tea, and more than happy to share flavor notes, profiles, and personal preferences about each blend of tea.
What I liked about my experience today was that the two «baristas?» gave me diverging opinions about the tea they liked. I can tell you that if I go to an establishment, ask them what is good, and they respond with «everything is good,» I immediately want to light their hair on fire. Well done here.
The menu is broken down into the different hierarchies of tea, with the sub types listed beneath in a tree format. It’s easy to read, and the staff is there to assist with any questions you might have.
Note that for the next few weeks, they’ll still be getting all the kinks worked out, but in the meantime, I think Seventh Tea Bar will be another great addition to the OC Mart Mix family!

The care and dedication that the team puts in to making the experience of drinking tea shows from the level of customer service and information they give.
I had an excellent time at the preview and look forward to another amazing experience once they get rolling.
