Residence Inn Los Angeles LAX/El Segundo

Stayed here on a Saturday night. Front desk was friendly and helped me find a quick place to eat. Farmer Boys was just next door. So enjoyed my Cobb salad at my newly renovated King studio suite. Next morning had an amazing free breakfast. Parking is free and we slept peacefully in the room. No complaints here. Would definitely stay here again. Superb!

Good place to stay after a long trip from the east coast. They provided transfer from the airport to the hotel. There are 2 Residence in hotels close to the airport, hence be careful when catching the transfer. We didn’t know that and went straight to the wrong hotel. After almost 1.5 hours waiting for the correct transfer to pick us up, they decided to send us a taxi. The front desk staff was nice and welcoming. The rooms are suites, with a small kitchen and most importantly, it is clean. The hotel provides a pool, exercise room and parking. This is a perfect place to spend the first night and rest in LA if you are traveling from the east coast and planning to drive to other cities in California.

This place has been remodeled, we stayed for 4 days and it was beautiful, the staff were very friendly, and the free breakfast was amazing! We loved how quiet it was.

What a dump. Check in was a joke. Place is a wreck. Nothing was working at checkin. No business center. Not the business hotel they pretend to be. Too many other better choices in the area to go with … You will be glad you did.

The staff here, exceptional! When I first arrived the gentleman at the front desk not only explained the best way to get to my room, but also provided me with a map and talked me through the map to ensure that I knew exactly where to go! I’m a runner, but not familiar with the LA area. Not a problem, front desk to the rescue! Again, they provided me with a map and thoroughly explained how to get to the beach from the hotel to enable me to get in the mileage I was looking to achieve. I was trying to go for a light 4 mile run, which ended up being 5 miles; they were a little off with their calculation, but it was all good because I got to take in the beautiful surrounding El Segundo neighborhoods and take some amazing pics of the Pacific! The only minus is the hotel is currently under construction; however, I will say this, although, they are under construction, it wasn’t too much of a mess and they had appropriate signage posted. Additionally, the noise from the construction was minimal! I would definitely stay here again (construction and all) and would suggest it to others, and another plus is that it’s super close to the airport!

People with allergies stay away!!! It must have been dust mites or pet dander but i got an allergy attack when i stayed here. Place had great amenities but room just felt very dirty and and unclean. Carpets and room was quite dirty. Décor and furniture was very dated!!! I expected more from this place but what i got was an allergy attack stay away!

5. Many places to eat reasonably priced.

There’re 2 Residence Inn by Marriot: this one is El Segundo, another one is LAX. There’s a scheduled shuttle bus between LAX-​RIM LAX, not El Segundo. You either have to
call RIM El Segundo for their car to come to pick you up directly from LAX, or
use the schedule shuttle bus of RIM LAX, then ask RIM LAX to call RIM El Segundo to have the shuttle bus to pick you up from there.
The same for the reverse way to the LAX.
Free snacks/​foods/​drinks Monday-​Thursday, 6 – 7:30PM. Yay!

Hotel only offers complimentary shuttle during certain hours & then they charge but if you call the hotel or look at the website they say nothing about any charge.
On top of that the hotel won’t charge you for the shuttle, you have to give the driver cash but you don’t know until the drivers tells you.
They also sent an email to all their customers and did not blind copy them welcoming you to the hotel so now all the other guests who checked in today have each other’s emails addresses.
Rooms are old and hair in the shower stall. Doesn’t feel clean. I’m a gold elite — avoid at all costs!

I had to find a hotel near LAX late at night with two young kids, lost bags, on weekend when FAA delays led to a very crowded airport and fully-​booked hotels.
My wife who was back at home worked hard but the only thing she found was expensive ($ 290) and had things we didn’t need (kitchenette). That’s not Residence Inn’s fault. But…
We had to get a cab to the hotel because the shuttle stopped at 11 pm. We arrived at the same time as a group of 3 people on business. We had to wait while the two front desk staff members checked in the other three. Good service would have meant asking those three if they could check us in first since we had two young kids.
My wife called ahead and asked them if they could have toothbrushes etc out for us because our bags were lost. Not only were there no toothbrushes but the fold-​out couch-​bed for the kids had an old towel in it and the linens in the closet only included a top sheet.
The room had a very strong rubbing alcohol smell. We could not change rooms so I left the windows open all night in the ground floor room. I did not sleep well.
The buffet breakfast the next morning had some choices and I could see it appealing to some people but there was nothing there I found appetizing. My kids found a little to eat. My daughter still talks about the dry, lumpy, chunky oatmeal which she couldn’t eat.
The room was large enough and my bed was fine. The front desk staff had a professional demeanor especially for the late hour.
I can’t really imagine a circumstance in which I would prefer this room to an average room without kitchenette for less.

Maybe ten years ago this was a nice hotel. As far as basic accomodations go, I guess can’t complain too much. The beds were reasonably comfortable and it had running water. The room was relatively spacious (two bedroom suite) and gave us all room to spread out. The wifi was also pretty fast.
That was about it however. I got food poisoning from the free breakfast, and the shower (and other parts of the room to be honest) looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in the past six months. Pink mold was growing in the grooves and there were all sorts of foreign hairs and other unidentified objects all over the tile. The cabinets were practically hanging off their hinges, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls, and the living area furniture was threadbare and uncomfortable.
The main issue wasn’t so much the magnitude of any one flaw, but the fact that most of them could have been solved relatively easily if a bit of time and energy was put into it. It feels like one of those hotels that could have had great potential, but management doesn’t really care enough about the experience to do anything more. Sure, I’ve stayed at worse, but some attention to detail would be more likely to keep guests coming back.

I can’t really speak to my stay here, I only booked for one night to be close to LAX. I came in late and checked out early. Location: great! $ 5 über to the airport, but they also have a free shuttle.
My review is for the staff. During my very short stay at this hotel, I left behind my wedding rings on the sink trying to run out the door for my flight. I was not able to turn around but when I called, I spoke to Stan («Stan the night guy») who promptly got back to me to tell me he was able to find them. Since it is a high value item, he put it in the safe until a manager arrived. The rings were fedex to me with tracking. I appreciate their honesty and helpfulness. It speaks a lot about the staff.

The décor was nice room was spacious, breakfast was good… crowded and the staff could not keep up with repleneshing the food fast enought. The only major reason I can’t give it a good review is my poor husband got eaten up by bedbugs… he woke up Saturday with one bite we assumed it was a spider… this morning he had bites around both arms and legs and a few on his face. We realized it had to be bedbugs. I told the front desk when we were checking out but all he did was write down the number.

There is no integrity or honesty by the front desk staff. They lost 2 pieces of mail within a week to my fiancé. One that had tracking even! They were defensive and lied about it. Everyone makes mistakes, but if you can’t take responsibility as a business, then it is a matter of reputation.
I stay at Marriotts frequently for work, this is subpar!

This hotel is well located, good service and well kept. However it’s so old! The fixtures and finish are like something out of the seventies. Dark browns, popcorn ceilings. The air conditioning is so noisy we had to keep it turned off all night. If it had a lpng-​overdue facelift, I’d give it 4 stars.

Service was amazing. Room was great. We left our iPhone in the room and they delivered it to lax – we made our plane with the phone. Great hotel.

UPDATE*** after a wonderful experience at Residence Inn El Segundo, we left and ventured east for Palm Springs. It wasn’t until the morning after that we realized we left a very expensive bottle of shampoo behind! I called Residence Inn and they took down my number, telling me that they would call me back once housekeeping came in. I expected no response. A couple hours later I received a voicemail that they had found our shampoo and set it aside for us! We were very excited and drove back for it before heading home. What a wonderful group!!! Thank you!

The first time I stayed at this hotel, it was for a 3 day business trip. Great place for business traveler. However if your company reserves your room for you… you may get ALOT of push back when trying to check in. You have to use a personal card for incidentals even though your company wanted to have it covered on the card used to reserve the room. That’s a negative I was OK to overlook. The breakfasts every morning are convenient, not 5 star, but it does the job. Fat chance trying to reserve a DVD player for your room!!! I made a mental note that if I came back I would bring my own. Check out was easy, and I was off. Not too brutal.
Trip 2: I called the morning before my arrival to attempt to reserve a DVD player… no such luck yet again. So I asked what type of DVD player I should bring and what connections are required to hook up to the TV in the room. They said any DVD player will work because they have any cords that they may need in house. I thought: awesome I’ll just bring my lap top… a lap top plays DVDs right? Errr… wrong. They didn’t have the connector for it and I was stuck at this place for another 3 days without entertainment. For 200 ish bucks a night you would think they would have DVD players for their travel weary guests to find some much needed distraction.
Oh well… there is always a bible to read in the bed side table drawer. Mental note for if I ever have to stay here again… Bring my own entertainment and expect none from the hotel.

We stayed @ Residence Inn in many CA locations, Washington, NY and NV. This was by far the best service provided by your entire staff. We came over from Hawaii for my wife’s surgery. During recovery, your maid delivered a gift and get well card, a special touch we have never encountered. Whenever I needed assistance from the front desk, my wait time never exceeded 1 minute and was always greeted with a smile and very business like approach. Every staff member, including the maid service, maintence, kitchen crew, were always very polite and curtious. In Sept, we stayed at the the Sheraton @ Times Square NY, which was very costly, however your customer service far outperformed the Sheraton crew. Thanks for making our experience full of wonderful memories and we will be back very soon

This was my first ever stay at a Residence Inn and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. It truly does feel more like staying at an apartment or condominium rather than a hotel and they include pretty much everything in the kitchen. I was even surprised to see that they had dishwashing liquid on hand, as well as a sponge.
I was too rushed to enjoy their complimentary hot breakfast the next day, but it seemed pretty awesome, given the huge crowds that were gathered there. Also, I really liked how they had a little sign on the fridge door outlining the social activities and gatherings planned for the upcoming weeks — definitely a good way to make guests feel more comfortable. I will be staying at many more Residence Inns to come, without a doubt!
