I am the owner operator and have been doing inspections for close to 18 years. What sets me apart compared to most inspectors is that I’m a civil engineer as well as licensed, certified and insured. I’m available 7 days a week, 8am to 8pm, and can perform inspections with little to no lead time.

Responsive to call and emails. But, we uncovered issues after the inspection. I feel defects that were covered by sellers warranty should have been caught during inspection.

Called yesterday to ask about the service, after explaining concern about the back yard to him, he said «can I call you back in 10min?» And never called back. All I wanted was if he offer the service and how much it will be. He could’ve just responded over the phone right away, but he didn’t and never called back. I called another home inspector, Charles Yang and even after 8pm he responded to my phone called and explained what the issue may be. Charles was on the phone with me for at least 15min giving me great advice. First impression is so important to me, I don’t think I will ever call this place.

I am a lawyer in New York. I hired John to inspect a house in Oceanside, NY that I was ready to purchase. He found all kinds of hidden problems with it, including an oil spill in the crawlspace, all of which were unreported. His inspection literally saved me from purchasing what I thought was a great house and saved me hundreds of thousands of dollars in future repairs. I walked away after the inspection because of what he found. He sent me a full report less than 48 hours later by e-​mail. I highly recommend him. He was excellent.

If it were possible to give zero stars, I would.
We hired this company in Nov. when we were purchasing a home. They did not note any termites in the home.
However, when we had a second inspection in January, (by another company), they detected SEVERE termite infestation and damage in SEVERAL LOCATIONS. By this time it was past the time limit for the sellers to be required to treat for termites. We are now responsible for the cost of treatment and repair.
When we contacted John for a REFUND because his website clearly GUARANTEES their termite inspection for ONE YEAR, he told us «You can take me to court. I’m not giving you a penny.»
We are now out his inspector fee and several thousand in treatment and repairs.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

John was fantastic! He was recommended by my broker, and he did a very thorough job. I called him on Friday to inspect a property on Saturday, expecting that he would not be able to make the time in such short notice. However, he gave me an appointment and even helped to move some stuff around so he could make it!
In the end, he helped me understand how much work the property needed. He was very thorough and helped me understand exactly what I needed to do, and better understand full risks I would be taking.
I will definitely call John again and trust him!

We hired this service to do an inspection of a home we are about to buy. We had actually wanted to hire Kenny who was highly rated on Unilocal,but he wasn’t available to do the inspection within the week we wanted to so we went with J&P. We didn’t know what to expect because there were no reviews on Unilocal,but took a chance because John from J&P was available on the day we wanted. He actually did a wonderful job with the inspection. It turned out that the seller’s realtor knew him because he had done an inspection of the same house for someone else and the realtor didn’t really like him ! John did a thorough inspection and told us everything as is. He’s not in the business of pleasing realtors or helping them get the deal done as some inspectors are, so the buyer gets to hear the real condition of the house. The only con was that it took him 3 full days to prepare the report, but he did give us a preliminary summary on the phone which we found helpful and the report came with lots of pictures and detail. He was also available to answer all our questions as much as we wanted on the phone. I would highly recommended John Zabala from J&P.
