KIM CHAU JEWELERS… If you ever consider using them… DON’T…they are the MOST disreputable & incompetent I have EVER dealt with. The following is NOT an exaggeration: a Vietnamese friend suggested them and I took my Engelhardt German chrono there… simply to have a small chronohand replaced on its shaft. Another friend told me absolute horror stories about them, but I naively thought: this is such a simple issue!!! Long story short… I have made a full DOZEN trips… bending over backwards to ‘help’ them be competent and NOW the watch is completely DEAD… ALL 3 chrono hands are REMOVED… all chrono functions are DEAD. The son of the senior owners REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING to remedy this and is placing blame everywhere but where it belongs… on THEM. They KILLED my watch COMPLETELY! The watch worked PERFECTLY when I brought it to them… and the chump says now to send to Germany. He is apparently ignorant of the policy of ALL watchmakers which invalidates ANY warranty by the acts of incompetent jewelers. He has killed my expensive watch and invalidated any remaining warranty… and he refuses to send it to the factory to remedy. I bent even further to offer for him to compensate me with a comparable watch from their store… which would give him the advantage of providing a comparable value… but at his wholesale cost. My friend bought me a pair of earrings and watch here for a very good deal. I also occasionally go back to the store for reduce band size for the watch and to clean my jewelry and the staffs are very nice. Would come back again :-).

Don’t waste your money here. I am Asian and I understand every word they say. I came in with my Caucasian boyfriend and didn’t know I spoke any vietnamese. She was talking smack about the both of us before we even asked for anything. It was like going to a nail salon listening to their drama except this woman is talking about me and she knew nothing about me.
It was just a bad experience and by the prices, I would say it was also a ripoff since I am a huge consumer. Don’t pay the price, go to Bellaire and save yourself the headache.

Very bad experience. If I could give them no stars I would. They tried to rip me off. I ordered a gold chain from them. The weight was supposed to be about 50 grams and when they gave it to me it felt kind of light. I told them it felt kind of light and they told me its not. I went home that day and borrowed a scale from a family member and just as I thought it weighed 30 grams. I came back the next day and when I went in I could tell right away from the look of their faces they knew that I knew. I was angry and told them it was not the right weight. They weighed it and said they probably sent in the wrong chain. They went to the back and then gave me the correct chain. How did they have this chain in the back if the correct one was not sent in? Please be careful when buying from these people. They are real nice at first but after you buy from them they are all of a sudden different people.

Went to have watch resized. Older woman seemed pleasant enough said hello and welcome genuinely, but I was helped by an older guy. Sadly realized it was the same guy (perhaps same owner) I had seen working in Les Givrals. I used to frequent Les Givrals twice a week until they treated me like to total garbage one day, but thats a whole other story. Long story short, plenty of great places nearby with just as good of food (eg. Cal*i, Thi*en Anh, Caf*e TH) that dont require drive to Bellaire.
Anyways, I had to say «resize watch!» about 3 times till he understood me. Charged $ 10. Fine, not a problem. Next day I return because it was just still a little too big and I fully expected to be charged again; after all I should’ve realized that the same day. So same friendly lady again with another customer, but instead of the older guy I get a very friendly younger man. He helped me and we got the size down just fine. Great experience… then he said $ 5. I had actually already put a 10 on the counter… I said is it always $ 5 and he said yes.
So what I would like to say is thank you to the younger fellow and got eat a bag of d*cks you older guy.
Of note: the first time I arrived by myself, the second time with my wife. perhaps it has to do with what race you are on how much you will be charged? I’ve generally accepted this in some of our situations, but it still sucks. Both times I went it was only Viet people customers. The young guy seemed pretty genuine and nice though, I think the older guy was just a jerk.
I would’ve gone for 1 star (for the principal of the matter not $ 5) but I’m going to give it 2 for the young guys honesty.

Unfortunately, they aren’t always at the store during their «open» hours so when. trying to pick up a repaired necklace it took 3 days of phone calls to confirm they were in the store. Customer service and organization isn’t great at the location. There were two customers in the store including me and it took 20 minutes for me to pick my necklace up because they had misplaced it and had to scramble to find it again. I replaced the watch in my batteries there but it stopped working the next day. I took it back and they said it was because something else was wrong with the watch which would require another $ 40 to repair…

A nice little jewelry store in Midtown. It’s like getting into Ft. Knox, but given the neighborhood, it’s understandable. The lady who waited on me was very pleasant and helpful. They have a great selection of jewelry and watches and also do repairs (which is why I came). Prices are high, but no more so than any jewelry store. I was pleased with the service and would definitely go back
