I defy anyone to find a better Pawn shop in Houston, TX for giving you the best dollar for your items. I’ve used them several times, and once decided against selling a particular ring for sentimental reasons. I turned down their offer, and over a year later, took it to a shop closer to my home. I was offered $ 150 less by the neighborhood pawn, so I drove the distance and went back to Wright.
Their professionalism and beautifully decorated shop might make you believe you’ll get less money, but don’t be fooled by the pristine environment and a security officer at the ever ready. Wright will give you the best price for your goods, and as of this writing, I will never shop around again.

Friendly salespeople. I went to sell a nice gold bracelet and was treated well, plus given a fair price. Look for the «watch dog»; very cute!

We walked into Wright Pawn not expecting much, not even anticipating to buy anything. Linda greeted us instantly and we told her we were looking for an engagement ring. She showed us what was available and eventually we found something we loved. The price on the sticker wasn’t all that high to begin with, but she was willing to bring it down even more. This was unexpected, but welcome nonetheless. Linda was patient, kind, and very helpful during our indecisive first half hour. She never pressured us to purchase anything. Once we chose the perfect ring, she called over the jeweler and she was able to resize it on the spot, free of charge. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would do business again.

This place redefines pawn shop. They’re definitely more like jewelers, and refined as sales people. I left with one piece but returned the same day to leave with 3 more pieces. All designer, beautiful, and lightly used. Great service — they cleaned my stuff on the spot, send me home with cleaner, boxes, detailed and itemized receipt, and their return policy guarantees. I had some good conversation with Lee as well! They also sell serious artwork, antiques, silverware, home goods for those interested in that stuff!

I came here to sell, not buy, a product.
The young (ish, more middle-​aged, white) man who helped me never introduced himself. I gave him a few pieces of jewelry passed down by my family, two of which I wasn’t sure were real (which I told him up front; one wasn’t, the other was stainless steel, not silver). I appreciated this information. With the third piece, I brought the original box and receipt and tried to tell the man the background of the piece, since they ask for this on their website (direct quote: «If you have any information about your merchandise (appraisals, receipts, or other documentation) please show it to us before we begin our research. (This will save time for us both.)»). This man did not give a shit at all.
Instead he immediately asked if he could test it – and, as I was a seller, yes, of course. The chain ended up being fake (a surprise to me, but again, appreciated) but the pendent was real gold, platinum, and diamond. He told me it weighed 1 gram and so all he could give me $ 25. The receipt he handed to me, however, showed the weight to be 2.6 grams.
I took my business to a pawn shop like Wright because it differentiates itself from competitors by touting a distinguished reputation. At this level, I at least expect its employees to: introduce themselves; treat buyers AND sellers like people; and be honest about the weight and offer. It would make sense if you explained the selling price of gold, and at 2.6 grams, offering the price of 1 gram was fair because of the cost to you, etc. But don’t lie to my face about the weight of my belongings just to short-​change me on the assumption I won’t question it.
It gets two stars because it was a safe space with a clearly experienced staff. I’d give two more stars if that staff was also honest. I will never go here again.

I stumbled upon this Gem and I’m so happy I did! Go see Jarah and Linda, they took very good care of my husband and I. They provided great customer service from start to finish! They have a great selection of jewelry.

Wright Pawn is a fantastic place for high end gifts at a discount.
This is not your run of the mill old guitar amplifiers and lawn mowers kind of pawn shop. Because of their proximity to the Memorial Villages, they’ve been collecting the finer things from down on their luck folks in the area for years and selling them to their customers at a great discount. In the past I’ve found Tiffany vases, Waterford bowls, Lalique figurines, and many other great last minute gifts in a pinch. Prices aren’t set with the sticker and the people behind the counter are usually willing to walk the price point down to a «best price».
Customer service has always been fantastic from my perspective as a consumer, and I would assume it would be similarly positive if you were in need of pawning an item or selling one. During Christmas they have complimentary Christmas wrapping which was a nice surprise on our last visit.
Looking for something fancy but not feeling so fancy in the wallet? Wright Pawn should be able to help.

Went to Wright Pawn to look at something for my birthday. Found an awesome David Yurman ring at a great price! Linda helped us, she was very nice & knowledgeable.

I’ve shopped here a few times and left impressed every time and with a little bag most times. I am very impressed at the high quality items handled by this store. No dirty tools and questionable, sad WalMart bracelets here. Nope, they deal in high end stuff. Beautiful crystal, china, purses, jewelry and timepieces by very high quality manufacturers and designers. The folks behind the counter are always very, very nice. The selection varies, as per usual in a pawn shop, so you can go in every so often and see something new, which is tons of fun. Lastly, they do dicker a little, which is also hordes of fun. If you want to look for some high fashion goodies, tool on in and take a look. You will at least see something fun, if not take something home.

Thank you fellow Unilocalers for introducing me to this place! Having never set foot in a pawn shop, the image I had in my mind was seedy and dirty. Wright’s is nothing like that. Spacious, clean and well organized, you can browse through china, antiques, furs, jewelry, watches and designer handbags with attentive service from their welcoming staff. The guy even took my number and said he’d call if they got something in that matched what I’m looking for.
I’m impressed!

I searched for months to replace my lost diamond wedding band. I was not pleased with the selection and prices at the mall. Everything looked cookie cutter or of low clarity with a high price tag.
With Christmas quickly approaching and with no gift ideas for me, hubby made it his mission to help me find a ring. I was at my wits end trying to find a special jewelry store. I Unilocaled and surprisingly found The Wright Pawn Jewelry Company, which had some great reviews. A pawn store?! Really?! The few I’ve been to had stereos, cheap looking jewelry, lawn equipment, and appliances. I decided to try anyway.
We travelled down Westheimer searching for the store. It’s very unassuming, but we found it quickly.
A few minutes after we arrived, Pamela Wright greeted us. I explained the style of ring I wanted. Unfortunately most of their stock was wiped out by Christmas shoppers. She searched the inventory in the back room and came out with more rings. I felt we were treated like we were buying a $ 500k ring! She was very polite, accommodating, and genuinely wanted to help me find the right ring.
I finally chose a ring with a single row of prong set diamonds in platinum. I think it is simple and classic. It was too big and Pamela was concerned it couldn’t be size small enough to fit me. The on-​site jeweler assured us it could be done and better yet, we could pick it up in 3 days! She even discounted the price!
Hubby arrived a few days later and was greeted by Pamela again with the same enthusiasm and great service. My ring is beautiful and fits perfectly. I am so happy we found The Wright Pawn Jewelry Company. This will be my first stop when I’m looking for more bling!
Forget the high markup you pay at the mall. For better service, unique selection, and awesome prices, you must go to The Wright Pawn Jewelry Company!

A friend and I went to Wright pawn shop today. It was amazing. Friendly service Gabriel helped me and he knew his stuff. I bought a David Yurman bracelet for a fabulous price. I will be back. Love this place.

I truly can’t say enough good things about Wright Pawn & Jewelry Company. I spent my 20s around a large pawn shop in FL that one of my best friends dad owns and I have always loved going in to pawn shops to see what little hidden treasures you might find. I really didn’t know what to expect the first time I walked into Wright’s and I have to tell you I was blown away! This is not your average pawn shop!
Ladies: A HUGE selection of handbags. I am talking Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, etc. They very frequently also have pieces of luggage from these brands as well. They have beautiful crystal and often times have some pretty amazing silver flatware. A little bit weird but they also have a large selection of fur coats, not my thing but it may be yours.
Men: If you are looking for a piece of jewelry for your lady love, look no further. They have an amazing selection of jewelry in all price ranges. They generally have pieces that come in those little blue boxes that all girls love. They also have an amazing selection of engagement rings. If you have any reservations about buying a diamond out of a pawn shop, don’t. Take it from a girl, I would rather you take your budget and buy me the biggest diamond that you can and at Wright Pawn you will get the biggest bang for your buck.
My fiancé (I just love saying that) recently proposed to me with a ring from Wright Pawn and it is a STUNNER! He told me that Lee was a huge help in the whole process and that he really felt like he was being helped by a friend. Thanks Lee!

This place is not your average pawn shop. It is very upscale. You are not going to find power tool here. You will find a ton of Louis Vuitton and high-​end jewelery. Which brings me to why I was here.
I came here to look for an engagement ring, and I was not disappointed. Lee helped me out the whole time, and it felt more like a friend helping me then someone trying to sell me something. We found a diamond and a separate setting and the in-​house jeweler put it all together. My diamond came with a GIA certificate and an appraisal for insurance purposes. I feel like I saved about 30% from what Blue Nile was asking.
I highly recommend stopping by this place. After seeing their prices I will never pay retail for the Omega watch I want to buy next.

Occasionally I’ll peruse the Houston pawn scene really hoping to come across some cool trinket or treasure that strikes my fancy. Alas, when I step foot into 98% of pawn stores all I come across is rusty tools, broken bicycles, tv’s, old VHS tapes & the most hideous tacky gross jewelry I’ve ever laid eyes upon.
I think to myself «In the ginormous city of Houston is there not ONE cool pawn shop?!?». Hmmmmmm, I think I found my one cool pawn shop ;)
David Yurman, Cartier, Tiffany’s, John Hardy and that’s just a *small* portion of the of the jewelry section… WOWZA! Yummy yummy! Pammy likey! Now, let’s talk about the Waterford, Judith Liebers, Dior, Louis Vuitton, ect ect ect all over the store. It’s like a mini pawn version of Neiman Marcus without the pretentiousness. I am impressed.
The reason why I give this place 4 stars (and not 3 stars or 5) is because I couldn’t see the pricing… I’m not sure if they’re at retail or even Outlet mall pricing. Granted, you can’t get *some* things at the outlet but trust me when I tell you the David Yurman outlet in Cypress has fantastic specials (as well as inventory) and the Neimans outlet in San Marcos has really really good buys as well. I like expensive things but I also still like good deals… the point I guess I’m trying to make is the next times go back and I’m actually in the mood to buy (versus browse) will make or break this place for me. Still though, cool place to browse thru and an A++++++ for not having your average junky pawn shop fare.

Probably the nicest business you’ll ever enter that has «pawn» on the sign. Upon entering you’ll find a huge selection of jewelry, watches, handbags, and art objects. NO CRAP here, a refreshing change and I wish someone would take the hint in Austin and create something similar.
I browsed the high end watches while the wife carefully inspected each jewelry case. I found a nice Tissot PR200, but ended up with a better deal at another shop. The one gentleman I dealt with had a vast knowledge of the watches they had on hand.
You could drive just down the street to the Galleria and buy most of their inventory spending hundreds possibly thousands more; I’ll take the savings here anyday. I would not hesitate to visit this store again while shopping Houston on my next trip!
