Kristen was a delight to work with! She was punctual, sweet, and got along with everyone. She took some amazing photos of our wedding. She gave us access to all of the photos she took which we really appreciated. She quickly set up and captured moments for the post ceremony and group photos. She has that gift of making you feel comfortable while capturing perfect moments. We would recommend Kristen to anyone.

Kristen took my maternity pictures and they are amazing! My husband and I love how our photoshoot turned out. I chose to have them taken on Lanikai Beach and even though the beach was packed on a Saturday, she was able to find us a nice little spot perfect for pics. She is very sweet, genuine, and accommodating. I will be referring her to friends and family! Her photography is beautiful and we appreciate all her hard work. :) Thanks again Kristen!

Kristen is the BEST. Literally. First of all she’s very reasonably priced for the quality of services she provides. Second, she’s extremely professional while being the nicest person ever at the same time. Those factors aside, Kristen literally took every pose, every angle, every location I wanted and she did it impeccably. She is so talented and so easy to work with she seriously made it so easy to get through all the photography. She was very available with the pre planning and her contract process was very easy. She showed up first thing in the morning on the day of, she did all the prep photos, ceremony photos, post ceremony onsite, pre reception photos at my venue AND stayed through most of the reception– Kristen is a total rock star. The most important factor that I have to emphasize is the quality of her photography. Kristen pays close attention to details and was meticulous which made her photos so beautiful. Like I said she is so talented and her work speaks for itself. I highly recommend Hook Photography.

My family and I vacationed in Hawaii this January. I knew I wanted to have a professional photographer take our pictures while in Hawaii because we rarely are all together at the same time. To capture these moments would be precious. I found Kristen while searching the web for Kailua photographers. Kristen was able to provide suggestions for locations, and she was receptive to changes in venue. She was prompt with her replies via phone, text and email. She was available during the time I needed her… and when we met on the beach with all 14 of my family, she was professional. My family was comfortable with Kristen as she placed us in position and created a relaxed environment to capture the best in all of us. The results were fantastic!

My boyfriend and I got our photos taken by Hook Photography and we had the most incredible experience! We did this shoot just to have some professional photos of us together. We’re currently in a long distance relationship and we wanted something to look back on when times got hard and we missed each other.
Let me just start by saying, Kristen is really amazing at what she does. She listened whenever I had an idea in my mind and she also helped us if we ran out of ideas and poses. She was so patient with us as it was our first time doing anything like this. We were a bit awkward at first but in no time she made us feel relaxed and comfortable. We took our photos at Lanikai Beach. On the day we had our shoot, we were blessed with beautiful weather and at sunset, we were so happy to see the sky turn into a gorgeous pastel color.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the photos she took of us. She captured so many lovely moments. It was everything we hoped for and more. My favorites were the ones where we were laughing because we were having so much fun! It was definitely a day we’ll always remember.
I recommend Kristen for weddings, engagement photos, family photos or for any special occasion you may have coming up. Even if you just want to take some memorable photos with the person you love! It definitely lifted our spirits with our long distance relationship. Now I can always count on the photos that Kristen took to brighten my day. :)

Kristen Hook is the best photographer I have ever worked with. I had Kristen photograph my engagement photos at Ho’omaluhia botanical gardens, and she was more than happy to do some hiking into the gardens to get some beautiful shots! We loved the photos so much, that we had her do our wedding photos next. We had our wedding at Waialae Country Club and Kristen did some research before the big day, going down to the location prior to get a current idea of good photo ops, etc. At the wedding, Kristen was busy getting the traditional photos that me and my husband wanted, but also wonderful candids which are always the best! Prior to the wedding, Kristen met me at another location where the bridesmaids and I were getting ready, set up photos of the dresses, rings, champagne toast, and took excellent photos of everyone getting ready. Since I was busy getting hair and make up done for a while, I wasn’t involved in everyone getting ready, but when I got the photos back, it was so heart touching and special to see the photos that Kristen had taken of my best friends and family, getting ready. Wedding day goes by extremely fast, and as a bride and groom, you miss a lot of just hanging out, having fun with all your guests, so it was wonderful to see photos of all our friends and family having fun, dancing, eating, and laughing. I can’t pick any bad photos from the lot, so I will be developing over 2500 photos at Costco. Thank goodness for a Costco gift card as a wedding present! Thank you Kristen for all our excellent memories captured forever. Next up is baby pictures!!!

My husband and I eloped to Hawaii in April and Kristen we were referred to Kristen through our officiate. With photos being THE most important thing to me for our wedding, it was a little scary not knowing the photographer. With that being said, I couldn’t have had a better photographer if I had hand-​picked her myself! From the very first interaction with her, we felt completely happy with our choice. Hawaii is also so expensive and Kristen did break our bank! So at an affordable price, amazing customer service and fantastic photos on her site, we knew we made the right choice and that was only confirmed as soon as she walked into our hotel room! It’s like we already knew her… she was so sweet and made us feel like we were the most important clients she had ever had. She captured the most amazing moments of our wedding, even some candid shots! She even had our photos back to us within about a week! She is a true Rockstar in my book.

Working with Kristen wasn’t work. It was more like meeting up with a friend at the first time when we discussed our options and so much more even when she showed up on our wedding day! I, the bride, was a little nervous, because we were running late in getting ready. Kristen reassured us all though that this was perfectly normal, which really calmed me down! Thank you! She even was able to take some really great «getting ready» shots. As we were indeed a little late, we both so appreciated how Kristen would make the family pics and guest pics still happen before our private sunset session. She was very clear and direct in her communication and what could have been confusing and stressful because of the lack of time turned out in beautiful pictures! One of the best parts for me was the sunset session were she arranged the lightning and everything so perfectly. But what I truly love is that she captured all our emotions and deep moments we had, a lot of hugs and laughter with our guests.
Mahalo uni loa for so many incredible pictures! Not for a second we would ever doubt that you were the best choice for our special day. We are so grateful that you captured it for us and left us with this vivid memory! You will always be recommended and we will surely come back for more… We are huge fans…

Kristen did an AMAZING job on the photos for our wedding and engagement shoot. She is truly talented, and she has a gift for capturing the moment. She gives great direction, is always professional, sweet and accommodating! We have SO many terrific pics to choose from (over 2000!). We used Hook Photography for our wedding day, and were not disappointed. Upon meeting Kristen for the first time, we connected very quickly and my husband and I both felt that she understood what we were looking for, and how to capture it. Such a specific thing is very hard to communicate, so of course we were nervous while awaiting the photos… but my goodness, she captured almost every single part of our day and thank goodness!
They aren’t kidding when they say your wedding day goes by so fast and practically flashes before your eyes. I am so happy that Kristen was with us during every step, because I don’t think I would have remembered it quite like she captured it.
She has an incredibly creative eye for details, and while we only had 30 people attending the wedding, they were a rambunctious crowd that she was able to confidently manage :)

We’re an adventurous couple who also care a great deal about attention to detail, style, and aesthetics. This made it somewhat challenging to find a photographer who was able to keep up with the way we chose to celebrate our wedding (in the water and on outrigger canoes!). We are so happy we chose Kristen. Her adventurous spirit, incredible eye for beauty and detail, and ability to shoot in any environment allow for limitless creativity. She was a welcomed addition to the day of our wedding and created images that far exceeded our high expectations. Her photographs left us often speechless, and always inspired. I LOVE my wedding photos. I am VERY picky and did a lot of research, Kristen’s photos just popped out at me like a artist. She is so detailed and creative. I have done a lot of photo shoots but by far Kristen is the most amazing photographer.
I wanted something different not the same old boring wedding photos. And I got exactly what I was looking for. When I came back home and posted my photos on Facebook everyone was so blown away one the photos. Everyone said it looked like a magazine cover.
