After two other companies came to the house, we thought we’d ask for a referral from a friend that lives in Rossmoor. She had noticed signs for TKR and we were so happy when Ken arrived. Right from the get go, we knew we had the company that we could work with.
Two months to the week, the kitchen remodel was completed. We cannot rave enough how professional and meticulous the entire team worked with us-​from Ken, Paul, Dave, John, and Deana to all the subcontractors. Their patience dealing with all our insecurities, double guessing, and changes gave us a dream kitchen that we still love walking into each and every day.
We worked with Ken in the beginning with the architectural design during several one on one meetings. The 3-​D design was amazing and gave us the ability to change right on the spot. Ken was always available and kept us up to date on the schedule at all times. Once we moved into the finishing work, Paul stepped in and literally calmed our nerves day in and day out. His expertise guided us on color, counter tops, grout color, lighting, hardware, faucet, and numerous other decisions we couldn’t have done on my own.
We cannot recommend TKR enough. We are soon to start another project with them bringing the front of our house into the 21^st century. Thank you Ken, Paul, Dave, and your entire crew for all your outstanding work.

When my husband and I begun our search for a new house in the Rossmoor/​Los Alamitos area we were looking for a property that was move in ready. But after a lengthy search we realized our dream home may need to be built. So before we purchased, we started looking for and interviewing construction companies who could help us bring our dream to reality. We met with TKR once and knew we had found our team.
Building a home isn’t an easy process for anyone but I never felt that my ideas or plans were ever a problem for Ken Todd (architect and the T in TKR). Ken and Jason were an amazing duo who created plans that incorporated every wish I had for our home. Once we were on to the actual construction phase I worked with Paul Kalish and Dave Ritchie on the day to day.
The subcontractors they have in their arsenal are amazing. Not only were they welcoming on the job site when my husband or I stopped by but they continued to be respectful of my time and always courteous and respectful if I had a question or they needed my input on simple things like grout colors. I am a stay at home mom and my husband travels a lot so I had to make so many decisions on my own. These gentlemen were always helpful and ready to show me examples if I needed them. To this day, nine months after we have moved into our home, if they have to stop by to fix, change or do something for me they continue to treat me with kindness and respect.
As for the TKR crew, including the office staff, they are an amazing and talented group of people. During this time of building our home we welcomed another baby and had some family issues dealt our way. Paul did everything he could to make this process as easy for us as he could. He continued to help me when my ideas ran dry or he had a number of people to refer me to if something was out of his area of expertise (like interior design). If there was a problem, Paul was there to find solutions. He was also very honest too. If something didn’t look right or wasn’t going to work, he told us, and then tried to find a solution or a compromise.
Everyday I walk into my house, I believe I am so blessed. I don’t think this would have been possible if we went with the other construction companies that are prevalent in our area. The benefit of working with this group is they build different homes for different families. Thank you TKR!

Over the past 10 Years, we have used a number of different contractors to perform various home improvement projects on our house. The last one we used to complete a front of the house elevation face-​lift was TKR Construction. They stood head and shoulders above all the rest of the contractors we had used in the past. Their price was fair, the finished product was of high quality, and the result exceeded our expectations. We just loved it. Paul, Dave and Ken were easy to work with and never to busy to discuss any aspect of the project with us. Six months after they were done, Paul called us to make sure that there were no problems. We had one minor issue that he quickly took care of. We highly recommend them!

TKR completed an extensive kitchen and first floor remodel on our Huntington Beach home. I could not be happier with the entire process and everyone who worked on it. The finished project is amazing and even better than I imagined. Ken, Paul and Dave take pride in their work and it shows. We completed a remodel on our backyard about two months ago and are very pleased. Our project manager was Paul and he was professional and timely throughout the entire job. The finished product exceeded our expectations. We did have a few hiccups throughout the negotiations and actual build out … however, it is true that the best judge of character is how someone handles a difficult situation. My husband knocked on the door of a house that we really loved in Rossmoor to ask who built it. Come to find out, it was built and owned by one of the owners of TKR. We sat down a week later at their office to view their portfolio and decided without hesitation that they would be the ones to build our house. We soon found a property, came up with the plans and jammed them thru the County of Orange for approval (the hardest part). Once construction started, everything went smoothly. The communication with Ken, Paul and Dave was great. They were on top of all the moving parts at all times. They are all true artists, the craftsmanship really shows. I highly recommend them for any job big or small. We will be using them again.

We needed a contractor to do a major renovation. There is always trepidation in whom you hire to do the type of job that was needed for our home. We hired TKR who had great referrals. Their job was estimated to complete renovation in 5 months. Their company provided sub contractors who were at our home every day, and as each contractor completed their work another contractor came in right behind them and all the subs were timely, neat, very professional, accommodating and the renovation was complete in 5 months and it is now our palace. Since the renovation, we have so much confidence in what TKR can do we have hired them for about seven more jobs and they continue to bring in the best sub contractors at a reasonable competitive price, but mostly they complete the work in a timely and professional manner. I would recommend them for the most complex of jobs. I believe the best the way they presented themselves in quoting the job was awesome. They have partners who specialize in quoting for instance one partner is an architect, one partner is the designer and accountant and one partner is in charge of renovation and construction and they are all excellent and experienced at what the do.

My husband and I are so in LOVE with our new house. TKR captured every detail we dreamed of. More importantly their communication daily, wonderful crews, and design are TOP NOTCH. I would find it hard to believe that any other local construction company can beat this team. They know what they are doing and you get to be guided through by a team of professionals. I will refer TKR and I 100% would use them again! I actually look forward to getting to work with Ken, Paul, Dave, & their crews again.

We had the opportunity to work with TKR Construction as their cabinet builder and installer. Paul ran the job amazingly well. He kept a clean job site, constant contact with the clients, and there were no scheduling conflicts. I would happily refer Paul and his company to any client or contractor to work with.

Quality was excellent. 6 years later our bathroom cabinets still look amazing. The stain on the cabinets, window frames, and doors is pure art and was painstakingly crafted. We were expertly guided to select the quality fixtures, finishes, and touches befitting to our home. Anybody who says «money can’t buy happiness» never built their dream master bedroom/​bathroom! Every day I am happy with this room.
TKR employed subcontractors that were artisans and completely captured our vision, yet Paul and Ken guided us to more appropriate choices when we were off track. Ken is an expert architect and able to coordinate custom tastes that match the craftsmanship of a particular style and yet still incorporate custom touches. What’s more they keep the project original so you don’t end up with a cookie-​cutter McMansion.
We are admittedly difficult clients (we prefer «detail-​oriented») and happy with both the quality and appearance of our home. I would certainly use them again.
