LaVie Privée Medispa

I discovered Privee Medispa on Living Social. I bought a voucher for 4 sessions to get laser hair removal on my underarms. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results or service. Sophia and her staff are awesome! So much that I went back to get other areas done and have referred three friends. Highly recommend!

I found this place through a group buying deal. When I called to schedule an appointment, Sofia at the desk was so sweet and helpful — great first impression! Carrie worked on me and I was so pleased with the results that I moved on to another area. It’s not very convenient for me as I live on the east side, but I am happy to make the trip for their wonderful service.

I’ve been coming here for a while now and I love the results of my laser treatment. Their prices are competitive compared to other spas, but they have the strongest laser that I’ve come across. I agree with the other reviewer about the smell of burning hair afterward, so make sure that you purchase the numbing cream, because you’re definitely going to need it :-)

I had botox injections on 8÷26÷11. Today 10/​26/​2011 am in need of another. Seems like it is watered down. Injection usually last me 4 – 6 months depending on who does them.

This review is based on the atmosphere of Prive Medispa, not the treatment (my fiancé and I purchased the groupon deal — 4 laser hair removal treatments for $ 99). Obviously, if you fit the laser hair removal criteria, the laser should work! So in my opinion, it’s not fair to write a review based off of that… Moving on…
Here are the «highlights» of my visits:
1^st visit — got there a few minutes before my scheduled appt. The door was locked with a note on the door saying they would be back in a few minutes, there happened to be a guy there with a key to open up the door. I assumed he was the affiliated with them, as he let me in. Sat down, picked up a magazine while I waited for someone who worked there to check me in. Finally, front desk girl comes in and a moment later the owner appears. I can hear them whispering about why I was sitting in there already and they were questioning if I had just let myself in. How would I do that? Then the owner, speaking with attitude in her voice told me my appointment was actually 15 minutes later. I politely responded, that I had scheduled it for 3:45 and was in fact, right on time. She again gave me attitude telling me I had the wrong time. First of all, no need for the attitude. Secondly, unnecessary to whisper about a customer when they are sitting right there. And third, even if I was early, why are you going to argue with someone about that? It’s LA, you should be THANKFUL that I was early!
After each treatment is over, they put an envelope on the counter for you to leave a tip. If I would like to leave you a tip, then I will let you know — a tip, in my eyes, is not something that is EXPECTED. And furthermore, when I tell you I don’t have cash (I truly didn’t, because I had to give my last couple of dollars to the parking garage attendant), do not tell me you will accept a check as well.
Final treatment — they had called to confirm my appt the day before and left a message asking if I would like to come in earlier. I wasn’t able to make it as early as they would like, however, they did say even if I could come in 10 – 15 minutes early, that would be fine too. So I show up early. I’m sitting there waiting… waiting…and still waiting until 10 – 15 minutes AFTER my original scheduled time. Please do not ask me to come in early, if you’re running behind!
Lastly, my fiancé had to reschedule his appt and literally, as he was going to look up the number, they called him to confirm. So he told them he was so glad they called because he would no longer be able to make it at his original time because of a work conflict. He was told that he could reschedule it but he would be charged $ 40 for moving it to a different day because he didn’t give 24 hours notice (it was 22 hours until his appointment — I’m not joking). Fortunately, he was able to move it later in the day to avoid having to pay.
I’m thankful the laser treatments worked, however, I seriously would not go back to this place if it was next door to where I lived. I don’t expect any type of special treatment, I just expect people to be courteous and respectful. I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
If I hadn’t prepaid for the Groupon, I would have not gone back after the first visit.

I’m very happy with the service I’ve received at Prive Medispa. Like others here, I purchased the LivingSocial deal for 4 laser hair removal treatments, and completed my fourth treatment about a month ago. I’m really happy with the results, and I booked another two treatments to finish up the set. The first treatment always yields the best results, but then the hair begins to regrow a bit, so I didn’t want to write after my first treatment as I know that the progress is really incremental after that. But five treatments in, I can really tell the difference.
The facilities are clean, and Sophia has always been very welcoming every time I come in for an appointment. The building and office are easy to find, but you are on your own for parking… unless you find street parking on Westwood, I’d suggest parking at the Ross structure across and just up the street.
Their numbing cream is more expensive than most, but you get a lot of it, and it’s no joke. If you leave it on for too long, you will have fun pinching yourself later.

I loved my experience here while using my living social coupon for lazer hair removal so much that I purchased a botox treatment. They are so incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is great. I plan to recommend this medi spa to others!

They have specials and packages for a lot of their services so just call and ask.

I agree with all the other reviews, this place is Nice and clean. I got the laser hair removal and boy did it smell! I wasn’t expecting the strong smell of burning hair. I really had no idea what the whole process other than what was on the website. I’m going again but even with just the first session, my hair hasn’t come back like a vengeance like it normally does!

I wrote a review a while ago but I thought I should do an update because I have tried more of their services. I’ve been coming to Prive for almost a couple years now and they are awesome. Everyone who works here is so sweet and they make you feel very comfortable. I started coming here because of their laser hair removal. I’ve done my research and Lavie Privee has the best equipment and best prices in town. As for the pain goes, I have lasered almost every inch of my body and if you are extremely sensitive like me they offer numbing cream which helped and I also take an Advil 20 minutes before. I’ve gotten a few facials with peels, a back facial and a Hyrdrafacial. The facials were very good but the Hydrafacial (which is a bit more pricier) was AMAZING! I’ve also bought a few of the Image Skin Care products and my skin has improved a lot and I’ve never been happier.
I am a student on a budget and every penny counts for me. The prices at Prive are really great and they always have good deals. I have finally found a medi spa that I can call my home-​away-​from-​home and I will always come back for more. I hope this review helped! Xoxo

Their facilities are clean and pretty. They were good about getting me right in at my appointment time, but they are impossible to reach by phone. I called to ask about the numbing cream they sell (and other options) and didn’t hear back. I realize that they’ve been really busy since they launched their Living Social deal, but I’m still pretty irked. I even went in (since I couldn’t get through on the phone line) to buy their numbing cream before my appointment, but they weren’t there.
EDIT: Once I mentioned this to the manager, she was able to squeeze me in a couple hours after my scheduled appointment so that I could apply the numbing cream. She was extremely accommodating, apologetic, and professional about the mishap!

I just had my livingSocial hair removal laser treatment and everything about my visit was fabulous! Very relaxing environment, nice and caring receptionist and prompt and timely treatment. Most importantly, my underarms did not feel the slightest amount of pain!!! I am going up to five stars as soon as I confirm that their treatment in fact worked!

I stumbled across Privé Medispa while in LA on business. I was in need of a last minute facial and needed an appointment that day. I did what I normally do and that was to do a quick search on Unilocal.I located the 5 closest spas to my hotel and called each of them. When on the phone, the others (spas) were very short and as expected did not have any last minute availability. One spa actually never picked up their phone. Anyway, when I called Prive the young lady who answered the phone was so pleasant and informative. Once I told her what I needed she informed me of the current specials and in addition, offered to stay late to take my appointment. Once there, the client she was with took a little longer than expected (about 10 min) she came out to greet me and apologized for the delay. Once in the treatment room, she did a good job of analyzing my face. She did an amazing job on my face. Probably one of the best facials I have ever received. Lastly, she gave me a lip treatment for free because of my wait. Icing on the cake was when I received a thank you card to my home address, thank me for coming in and letting me know she looked forward to seeing me again next time I was in LA for business again. It was a simple gesture but it made a big impact. I will definitely return.

I came here for a treatment. It went very well. Quick, easy, and painless. Sophia, the manager/​owner, is very sweet and caring. I think she has a genuine interest in her patients. The building was clean, easy to find, had free parking, and the waiting room was relaxing and well kept. I will deff be returning. Thanx.

I went here due to a gift certificate my friend gave me and Nicole was a true professional skin care consultant. You dont get this kind of attention to detail at the BIG expensive spas! she is great and their services and prices are reasonable priced and clean and pristine. My fav. Privee is Puuuurfect place for skin care and I will do laser soon!

It’s my mom’s birthday this month and I wanted to do something nice. Prive was having a special on facials so it was perfect. As usual, the staff was very accomodating and Nicole even moved her schedule around so she could see both of us on the same day. There is only 1 room for facials so we couldn’t go at the same time, but neither of us really minded this minor detail. I love Nicole’s facials and now my mom does too! She also really loved the staff and enjoyed that they were honest about what she should buy. We both hate it when people are trying to upsell products. She bought a couple of things and they gave her a generous amount of samples. We were both very satisfied and my mom is actually thinking about coming in next week for a Hydrafacial =)
