I came in on my lunch break for a Deluxe Facial with Nikki and it completely turned my day around. Thanks to the Unilocal reviews, I found my new spot for a mid-​day pampering. The salon was clean, full of light, and great energy. Nikki was warm and knowledgeable, expertly skilled and gave me guidance on what kind of peel to get. Extractions are never a walk in the park so I appreciated how swift and thorough she was, and of course, really enjoyed the massage that came with the Deluxe… I can’t wait to turn this into a regular treat!

I would absolutely go again! This was my first time coming here, but it definitely won’t be my last. I called them yesterday and they were able to get me in first thing this morning. My nails and eyebrows came out beautifully. The team was super friendly and helpful, but not overbearing. I really loved how they were able

Had a facial with Laurel. It. Was. Amazing!!! My skin felt so good after and she gave a great massage! I can’t wait to go back in a month!

I would say 3.5. I went there last min for a hair cut. I probably as a client could have been more directive but she cut my hair shorter than I wanted and didn’t blow-​dry it. For $ 65 I didn’t expect to leave with wet hair but oh well. Like I said it probably would have helped if I told her more what I wanted. Good customer service still just don’t know that for the money I would go back for my hair cut

Yes I have no shame, I review what I think is useful to you guys. I was in desperate need of a lip wax and I’m glad I found this place! :)
I was taken care of by the owner, she was very sweet and welcoming. She used the light lamp on me (the one they use for microdermabrasion) so she can see everything! I was a little embarrassed, but glad she pays that much attention to detail. After that I treated myself to some awesome Vanak Shandiz Persian food across the street. :)

I love this place! Seriously I now come here for all my self-​indulgent «me» days. They take great care of you and have a great card loyalty rewards program which adds to the value you receive.

Nikki and her team deliver the best service in town! Just got a facial and peel from her and it was heavenly amazing. She gave a mini massage while waiting for the mask to dry, what a treat!
Great place for family as well. Took my mother in law and my daughter several time there for their hair treatment/​cut and they always happy with the results. All in all best place to get pampered and styled in DTLA.

I just had the most incredible massage from Houston! He is knowledgeable, he asks questions and he listens. the ambiance of his massage studio is simple yet impactful. I felt drunk when he was finished with my massage. My son received a «athlete’s» massage. Houston listened and addressed all of our concerns. Loved it! I caanot say enough! Will be back in a couple of weeks.

Absolutely the best service /​experience! I made my appointment the day before! Yep, the day before and was the first client there the next morning. Nikki, and everyone else there were so happy and friendly.
This haircut was very spontaneous, so I didn’t have much direction to give Nikki. I just knew wanted my hair cut. She listened to what I wanted and worked her magic. I LOVE MY HAIRCUT!

Got a haircut a few weeks ago and it was done really quickly! I still like my layers and still receive compliments on my new haircut!

After walking passed this place almost everyday after work, I decided to go and get a manicure. It was a little after 6pm so it wasn’t really busy. Inside has a warmth to it with yellow walls and nice décor. It had an upscale vibe but was still quaint and relaxing. The music was a nice touch as well. The nail polish collection is small but includes OPI and Essie brands. Nikki did my manicure carefully and nicely. I will most likely be back for a facial that she recommend.

I can’t with this place anymore. The woman who does waxing is good– but I’ve had enough of making an appointment, arriving on time and then waiting 10 – 15! When you have your business in an area where people are frequently coming during their breaks you need to be on time.
I asked the receptionist (who was sleeping at the desk) if the waxer even knew I was there and waiting. I received a very rude answer of ‘she took a walk in, that’s how salons work’
Actually, it’s not. At least not salons that want repeat customers.

Slightly annoyed. I called earlier to make an appointment for a mani pedi and a tan session in the lay-​down bed. I got a call back after booking it telling me that the lady who does the manicures and pedicures was out for a couple weeks– wouldn’t you have known that when I first called? Moving on– I still wanted to get my tan on, so I went in and when I arrived there the receptionist barely said a word to me! I had to announce what I was there to do. She told me at that moment that the tanning bed I wanted was not working (shocker) and that the only one available was the stand up tanning bed (which I’ve never done before).
It’s kind of hilarious because she just sat there– like I was suppose to help myself or something? I have no idea how this place is still in business if this is how they are with all of their customers. Am I suppose to show myself around and figure out where you keep everything? Come on now…
Finally, I walk out to pay for the services and the girl asks someone else to help check out for her. You are the receptionist– at the VERY LEAST you should know how to write up a receipt and figure out what $ 20 minus $ 10 is…
Hint: it’s $ 10.

I have not been here since my first visit, but I did want to update my review because this place is under new management! Nikki, the new manager, reached out to me and offered me another tanning service at the salon, which I would love to take up if I have time to come back to downtown LA.

For years and years, I have never found a stylist that really understood my hair. It wasn’t until recently when I stumbled upon Soleil that I found the person that knew my hair: Nancy.
To begin, everything about this salon is lovely; the staff, ambiance, and décor.
When I entered the establishment, I was politely greeted by one of the members. Nancy was currently working on someone else’s hair, so they asked me to take a seat and offered me beverages.
The seats were comfortable and stylish. The entirety of the room has a contemporary feel that will always have a guest in awe with the beauty of this place.
When it was my turn to get my haircut, Nancy asked what I wanted. I told her my usual style, but I wanted to venture out and try something. So I told her that I trusted her judgement and would go along with whatever she thought I would look best. It was a relaxing experience getting my cut, then washing my hair, and touching up the end. When I finally looked in the mirror, I was in shock with what she did; it looked amazing!
Most people think that men cuts are easy to do, but they’re not. When a boy comes in to get their hair done, a stylist is only given a limited canvas with limited outcomes. So determining what that outcome would look best on a guy, that is art. She took into consideration my ears and facial structure and even got rid of the annoying flyaways I normally have.
Overall, I highly recommend this place. Of not for a haircut, they also have manicures, pedicures, facials, tanning, and they’re starting up brows as well. This place has it all!

I was very excited to try out this salon after all of the rave Unilocal reviews. I found out on Monday that I was going to get Tuesday off at work, so I emailed Soleil Beauty Salon on Monday to see if they could squeeze me in on Tuesday.
I was very pleased to have the owner email me even though the salon is closed on Mondays, answer my questions and set me up with an appointment the very next day.
That’s about where my happiness with Soleil Beauty Salon ended. I got to the salon and they had no appointment on record for me. Nikki acted like she had no idea that I would be there, even though her signature was at the bottom of my emails. She said she didn’t have a lot of time but she took me anyway.
I have partial blonde highlights and I just wanted the roots done and a trim and bang cut. First thing she does is bleach my roots completely with no foil. She recommended this as a better alternative to do blonde roots, but in my 3 years of being a highlighted blonde I have never had my roots done like this.
Midway though getting my hair done, she handed me off to another stylist. The other stylists had to correct my hair with toner. She did a great cut and I thought the color was okay while I was there. By the time I got home my friends and husband pointed out that my hair looked reddish/​copper. I looked at my hair more in the sunlight and realized it has red/​copper tones which is not what I wanted. Also I realized that with the all over bleached roots, my roots will show almost immediately, whereas with highlights I rarely notice my roots for months.
The staff is friendly, but small and busy. I felt like such a burden on them, like they were rushing to get me done and out. I’m a broke grad student that works on top of school, so spending my money on people who have to squeeze me in and rush makes me disappointed.

To all the 5 star Unilocalers on here: YA’LL TRIPPIN. There is no way that this place deserves 5 stars. But I’m gonna cut to the chase:
–bought a living social deal (mani/​pedi for $ 22)
–arrived to only 1 nail technician that worked there
— horrible nail polish selection, good thing I took my own
–it took THREE HOURS to get a normal manicure and pedicure (not gel)
–the tech wasn’t very friendly/​good at her job
— after THREE HOURS I was left with a crappy mani/​pedi that chipped an hour later, when I paint my own nails they last a week
— judging by the way the nail tech did my nails, she had no training whatsoever, Forrest Gump might as well be an employee here
— the décor was okay, just okay (not 5 stars okay)
So the verdict is: if you like a crappy manicure that will chip after an hour, and like having a limited selection of colors, come to Soleil. But don’t forget to pack lunch, dinner, a few movies and your pjs cuz it’s gonna take a while. That reminds me I should have gotten a refund.

I love the salon and I’m so proud of Nikki the owner she made it so cool and artsy… She’s an amazing esthetician she made my skin look so young:) what I love about this place and you can get your hair, nails, tan, spray tan and massage all-​in-​one place. The products she sells are all chemical free and organic

I love this salon!!! They have it all! Haircuts, extensions, nail services, massages, waxing, facials, tanning, and makeup sessions! I’ve always had a hard time finding a good salon… It’s hard to trust someone with your hair. Girls, y’all know what I’m talking about! But I think I found my go-​to spot!
I really like the décor of this place. It’s chic yet simple and the owners did a great job decorating the place with abstract art and chandeliers dangling from the ceiling. I love the sheer tapestry with lights hanging above the hair washing sink. It gives you something nice to look at while you get your hair washed. They also use great organic products like Loma.
My hair stylist Nancy was such a delightful person. We talked nonstop while she cut my hair and she also did a great job cutting my heavy, lifeless hair. My hair feels so much lighter and healthier! She was very keen and inquisitive about what I would like– what length, what style, etc. Customer service is great here all around. The owner was very informative and just so chill to talk to. Plus, her cute dog was here and it was fun playing with him! They have Keurig coffee machines so you can drink coffee or tea while you are here! If you’re ever in downtown, come check this salon out for any of your beauty needs! Can’t wait to come back for a root touch-​up and tanning session!
