I just recently completed a remodel of my home, and my floors turned out AMAZING! They are exactly what I wanted, a custom, unique, beachy look. Dale, the owner, and his team created a completely custom color finish. They tried different mixes of the european wax coatings on sample-​sizes until I found my perfect match. The floors are gorgeous. They are wide plank, french oak with seamless installation. Absolutely no gaps. Not only are the floors impressive, the owner Dale and his crew are reliable and trustworthy. They also went out of their way to give me tips that were very helpful with the other parts of my home remodel. I couldn’t recommend them more!

Manhattan Hardwood Floors just refinished our floors in our new «old» Redondo Beach home. We did not knew what to expect in terms of look and color tones after the refinishing because the «reel» floors was hidden under a layer of coating. The owner Dale, came to visit us before we started to give us professional advise so we could pick the right coating for our home. This consulting session was very helpful for us. As part of the refinishing process the crew created 5 different samples of new coatings so we could pick the one we preferred. They finished on time, on budget and they cleaned up after them. I can highly recommend Manhattan Hardwood Floors to anyone who is looking for a professional process and a quality outcome.

We moved to a new area and really didn’t know the best contractors. Nobody could give me the name of a hardwood floor person they trusted, so we interviewed a few. As soon as we met Dale, we knew we had the right guy. He refinished our floors in 6 days as promised, even working a weekend to get it done so we could move on time. He is a craftsman and was very interested in the job as opposed to the others we talked to. It looks fantastic. Highly recommended for a custom job in this area.

Dale came in to my house in the middle of a kitchen remodel and saved the day. We decided to extend our existing oak floors into the kitchen and he did an amazing job. There work was clean and done in a timely fashion. They even came back and touched up scratches put in the floor by other workers on the project.

We recently purchased a new home, and the first thing we noticed were the beautiful hardwood floors in the main areas of the house. We loved the floors so much that we asked Dale to continue them throughout the entire house! It was a pleasure working with Dale and his crew. This is a very professional and courteous team. Manhattan Hardwood Floors just completed installation and refinishing of hardwood floors at our home on The Strand. We hired Dale after getting bids from four other companies. Dale and his crew were a bright spot after dealing with many contractors over the last two years of a remodel. He shows up on time, if not early, returns all phone calls promptly, stays on budget, inspects every piece of wood delivered and supervises the installation of every piece of wood as it goes down. Dale and his crew were very polite and a pleasure to have around, we recommend him highly.

We just re-​did our floors and it was an excellent experience. I was nervous about the mess, noise and dust. We went with Manhattan and it was totally painless. They worked around our schedule and did the job in an efficient, clean and timely manner. And, the floors are gorgeous!!! Would definitely recommend.

Dale at Manhattan Hardwood Floors did an AMAZING job for me not once but twice now. Over the last 6 years I have had some work done in my 5000 square foot house in Beverly Hills & Dale and his team have done a fabulous job. If they told me they would be there by 8 am — they were there at 8 am. If they told me the job would be done by Friday. It was done on Friday. Imagine that? :) I always received before and after photos from Dale, his crew worked quickly and were ALWAYS on time. They were fast, clean and most importantly my hard wood floors look amazing. I receive compliments from guests & visitors about how great my floors look. I would recommend Dale to anyone who wants good service & a good product. Dale & Manhattan Hardwood Floors are professional & reasonably priced.

If I had to guess, i think these one star reviews are competitors who hired someone to badmouth, because this is the polar opposite of my experience with Dale and Manhattan hardwood floors. I’ve had a lot of experience with home remodeling/​contractors in the last 10 years and Dale was probably the most responsive and attentive to detail of all. He was on site every day, communicated every issue with photos right away, was responsive on email and phone, delivered the job on time and on budget, and the end result was an excellent new hardwood floors. If you are skeptical due to these negative reviews I encourage you to meet Dale in person and see for yourself and use your judgement as to his character. I’d recommend him (or hire him again if I ever move).

Dale came out and spent detailed time with my husband about putting in hardwood floors in one room, the stairs and refinishing the existing floor. My husband loved his enthusiasm and knowledge and once we received his estimate we were ready to go. After a week of chasing him down 3 times, we never received the estimate. He always said he emailed it, wasn’t in his office but as soon as he got in he would send it again, and follow up with a phone call to make sure we got it. Never got it, never followed up. I took over and called and guess what! He wasn’t in his office, but he promised to call me between 8:30 and 9:00 with a verbal estimate the next morning and when I called at 9:15 to find out why I didn’t hear from him I got bumped into his voicemail. If he wasn’t interested in our job then he should have told us, we wasted a week on him instead of using the time to find a reliable company who might actually want us to hire them. But you know what, if he’s this unprofessional then I wouldn’t want him working for me anyway so he did us a favor in the end.

I wished there was Unilocal 8 years ago. Dale’s crew were the worst. They made my life a living hell. The wood they used was basically green and they are buckled in many places. He was not hands on at all, and was not very professional. I saw one of his signs on the Strand today and I made it a point to knock on the door to warn the owner about this company. I wished someone had warned me.

I am very happy with the work and service provided by Dale and his crew. They have installed floors for me on three separate occasions.
In 2000, they installed 1,500 square feet of beautiful quarter sawn white oak wood floors in my Manhattan Beach home. They were able to get me the long clean boards I requested, installation went well, then they sanded and finished the floor perfectly. I loved that floor. It still looks great today!
Then in 2005, I hired Dale and his crew to refinish an old floor in an El Porto rental house, it turned out way too nice for a rental. His work is cost– effective so I also asked him to install a new prefinished wood floor in another El Porto rental unit I owned.
Most recently in 2012, Dale and his crew installed 3,000 square feet of custom milled ¾ inch solid walnut floors in our custom built Tree Section home. He ordered all the wood directly from the mill and got us beautiful long boards. Installation and finish was perfect and he also installed and finished the large walnut staircase.
