I had an upsetting experience with this company. I phoned and talked with Doreen. I explained I owned a rental condominium and needed window coverings as quickly as possible. She assured me if I placed an order I could have them in one week. She herself couldn’t help me, as her daughter was getting married during the weekend, instead she had Cynthia contact me. The next day Cynthia came to the condo, measured, and reaffirmed I could have things in one week. I signed an order for 19 Hunter-​Douglas cell shades and used my credit card to place a substantial deposit. This was on a Friday. On Monday I started to place an ad to show the unit for rent, based on the one-​week time-​frame for window coverings. I decided I had better confirm the window-​covering installation schedule before having someone sign a lease. When I reached Cynthia she said they would be installed in two weeks. She denied telling me they would be in in a week. She insisted Doreen couldn’t have told me that. She then explained it takes Hunter-​Douglas a week to fabricate an order, and several more days for them to ship the order to California. Furthermore Windows and Beyond won’t schedule the installation until the order is actually in the company’s possession, further delaying the process, After several rude text messages and phone calls, i cancelled my order. Thankfully I found Patti, at Finishing Touch Interiors in San Jose. She came that same Monday. She knew we could get cell shades from a different manufacturer and they were in her office by Thursday. Her installer was booked until the following Wednesday. She told me that before I placed my order. Her honesty and integrity were refreshing after my experience with Windows and Beyond. Patti and her installer both came yesterday. The window coverings were installed perfectly and are beautiful.

These guys are NOT very kids friendly!!! I mean this is our first time here. We searched all other places. We are actually really excited to go window blinds shopping today. Weekend always our only time to shop together, therefore, we have to take our kids with us to shop our new window blinds on the weekend. When we walked in we’ve been told to wait for couple minutes. We understand, and we are totally fine. So we are kind of hanging around the table seating area. Of course, our kids are sitting down on the chair, and not even talking maybe just rolling the window blind’s rope on his finger and the guy coming from no where says, «those are not for you it’s actually our customer’s.» (My kid are 5 and 10) I mean I totally understand what’s his concern, so both my husband n I apologized to him but, this guy didn’t even look at us and took the thing and walked away like we didn’t even exist?!? and the next thing he does is he talk to this other lady immediately! Hello??? We’ve been waiting for at least 15 minutes. Waiting for someone to help us. Can you believe it? If I can give a zero rating I would! This is the one in Palo Alto.

I went to this shop about a year ago. At the time I wasn’t totally convinced I wanted window coverings for my sliding glass door. The salesman, Rick, came out and we looked over the options. I needed to think about it. He was leaving for a vacation the next day and said he would contact me. He NEVER DID!
Fast forward to present time… now I’m convinced I need the verticals for privacy. Back to the shop. Order very expensive duette type verticals. Had a couple of questions. Same salesman was going to find out and get back to me. NEVER DID! One good point (hence the 1 star), I decide to go back to traditional verticals and I did get my deposit back. At that point I probably should have gone elsewhere but no I felt guilty. Rick came out and measured etc. i needed 1 vertical and one mini blind. I had 1 blind in the room so I wanted to match the valence on the mini blind. Rick told me he’d check to see if I could get the same valences. He’d get back to me. He NEVER DID!
Blinds were installed today and several options were wrong! The valences were different. The installer questioned why Rick did order the matching one! In additions the pulls are wrong. So frustrating! I’m upset!
Hopefully, dealing with the owner will result in satisfaction. Not with Rick. Though I love Hunter Douglas, I might think twice next time!
Update… owner came out and fixed everything! Upgrade to 2 * stars!

We used Windows & Beyond twice, once at our current house and once at our previous house. We are very happy with the results both times.
For our current house, Doreen did all the windows in our four bedrooms. Each room is unique with its own style and fabric. The only reason we didn’t have her do more is because we decided not to put any window coverings on our living room, dinning room and family room. Our lot is pretty big, we don’t need the privacy and we want all the natural light.
For our previous house, Doreen did all the windows in the entire house. We have gotten many compliments for our living room window coverings when guests visited.
Doreen has been in the window design business for a long time. She is very experience, friendly and nice to work with.

Called to get a quote, the owner told me I should come in to see the samples. We scheduled an appt but when I showed up, she had forgotten and was on her way out. She gave me a quick 10 minutes, told me I shouldn’t worry about price that she would take care of things and she knew what she was doing. She asked me to email her with the measurements of my windows and she would provide me with a quote. I emailed her and haven’t heard anything back … it’s been about 3 weeks. She must be doing well and just doesn’t need my business. I would give an even lower review but I think 1 star is the lowest I can go!

Doreen Yun is great to work with. Choosing Blinds sounds easier than it is. There are so many new products, materials and features to choose from. Having a design consultant makes all the difference. Convenient too-​Downtown Mountain View.

After the paint done in my living room I needed a totally new and different window covering. I called Doreen Yun of Windows and Beyond for the job to be done. Her design skills and color work are really awesome. She has helped me to have the things done considering my choice as well. My living room gives a completely different and unique look because of her design and color selection. I recommend her!!!

Once again I had a need for a window covering in a guest bedroom and knew I could count on Doreen to provide just what would work best. She came to my home, made recommendations and left color samples for me to take my time and decide what I would be happiest with. She encouraged me to go outside my normal leanings toward the more bland, and I am so happy that I made the choice for the lovely green that I did! What is special about Doreen is her designer eye and her ability to make good recommendations without being pushy or making you feel as though you are inept. Thank you, Doreen!

Had a wonderful experience with Windows & Beyond. Professional, timely, and under budget. They took the time to understand my style. My house looks like a model home.

I had this business install shades in my bay window. Scheduling to have them installed was very hard since they did not want to come outside of business hours or on a weekend. The measurements of the first set of shades was incorrect. Then I had to go through the whole thing of finding a day when I could be home during the day to have them installed. Three months later after I ordered them they are finally installed. after what I went through. I thought they should have given me a discount for having the shades installed so late. I will not use them again. I do not know if they accept credit cards, I was not given that option when I made my payment.
