I bought from Windows & Beyond twice. The owner Doreen is a great designer and I trust her recommendations. She paid attention to many details that I would not have thought of. I would go back to her again when I need more blinds.

I bought a custom curtain rod from Windows and Beyond with a two-​way drawl, and they made it one-​way drawl by mistake. My family decided to sell our home and move, and I went back to the store with the rod in its box and receipt, explained their mistake and our situation, and asked for a refund. They refused. I told them politely that I wasn’t pleased and that I wouldn’t patronize their business again, and one man running the store said, «Good.» In addition to their refusal to refund my money after they sold me the wrong rod, I was appalled by the man’s rudeness.
Before going to their store I’d talked with another business owner who referred me to a window treatment business in Sunnyvale. «But aren’t there any places in Palo Alto?» I asked, since that’s where I live.
«None I recommend,» the man had said. Now I see why! I don’t recommend Windows and Beyond either.

We worked with Cythnia Ney from Windows&Beyond to put draperies and other window coverings in our house. Cynthia was very, very helpful. She took the time to understand our design preferences, but also offered very helpful ideas. She was very flexible and worked with us to meet at our place and the showroom. She brought extremely useful ideas to the table and she is a pleasure to work with. The end result is just beautiful. We love all our window coverings and draperies. We would work with Cynthia again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend her. Additionally, Windows & Beyond has a great range of products from which customers can choose.

Prior reviews helped me find Windows and Beyond. I had had another quote for replacement of blinds on a slider door from a chain company. Rick discussed options with me, such as trying to fix the broken headrail, as well as replacement choices. I opted to replace the blinds, rather than attempt a repair. Rick was very helpful with selection, and Randy was most professional with installation. The price was significantly less than the other quote I got, and it was a pleasure to deal with everyone there. I would certainly use them again.

I couldn’t be more pleased with the customer service and quality of Windows & Beyond. I stopped by to replace a blind that had delaminated and Rick was so helpful in finding a replacement that was the closest match. Everyone at Windows & Beyond was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. Rick helped me replace the entire set of blinds on that wall, the new blinds arrived quickly, and we are delighted with them. I would highly recommend this store and I plan to go back if we need any other window coverings. Great five-​star service!

I was extremely satisfied with the customer service and product quality at Windows and Beyond. We just remodeled our home in Los Altos, and based on previous Unilocal reviews, I contacted Doreen Yun for help with the window coverings. She was absolutely wonderful. She was prompt, courteous, thoughtful, and knowledgeable. I really appreciated how resourceful she was in identifying the right product for our budget. She knew which products to use to find the best look and value. Although I consider myself to be a good shopper/​researcher, there’s no way I could have figured this out on my own at a DIY store. There are too many variables to consider and there is great value in using an expert. She absolutely knew how to do a quality job.
I did some comparison shopping before I contacted Doreen. I had a home estimate from 3-​Day Blinds. Their price was higher than the quote from Windows and Beyond. It would have taken longer. It required more work on my end for rebates. And the design and quality was inferior. Plus, they pressure you to place the order within 24 hours to guarantee the price. I had a completely different and positive experience with Doreen, and her design was so much better. If I had gone with the 3-​Day blinds plan, I would have really regretted it.
The measuring and installation process was also so easy and efficient. Again, absolutely no complaints and only satisfaction with the quality of their work.
As I wake up everyday and open up our blinds throughout the house, I am so pleased with all of the blinds we got. I consistently get rave reviews about our window coverings, too. I have personally referred Doreen to several other friends in the area. I recommend her services with great enthusiasm, and I will go back to her store without hesitation when I need more work done.
This is definitely a case where a Unilocal review made the connection and was totally worth using.

Quick Summary:
Came across Windows & Beyond from their Mountain View office (Next to Sushi Tomi). Apparently it’s an office location but the showroom is in Palo Alto. I would highly recommend anyone to this place, particularly anyone who knows little to none knowledge to the showroom to browse through the vast amount of samples.
Selection:
When I visited, I was greeted by Doreen to help with my selection. I would say my experience with her was fantastic. She’s very professional, knows a lot about different styles of windows blind, different functionality of windows treatment (e.g. how much it blocks the sun, etc.), particularly around how it fit into your house. I wanted to make sure my bedroom were always dark yet the design to look contemporary/​moderns. Doreen provided different combinations and different tier pricing to meet my needs. I ended of going with shutter blind due to the price, how much it blocks the sunlight well.
Pricing:
Pricing was one of my major concern after I quoted several windows treatment. But Doreen’s initial quoted was well acceptable for me and she was wiling to work with the price additionally as well to meet my need.
Installation:
Prior to installation, Doreen and Rick visited my home with the samples to ensure the color matches my home and the design would align to what I wanted. The day of My installation was done by Randy who was also very professional. The patience to ensure the installation was what the owner wanted.
Room for Improvements:
I gave 4 stars due to the scheduling/​timing for installation was not very flexible. And certainly, pricing could always go cheaper.
Overall experiences were great. I would highly recommend anyone who’s looking for windows treatment give Doreen an opportunity to serve you. She’ll take care of you well.

These guys are NOT very kids friendly!!! I mean this is our first time here. We searched all other places. We are actually really excited to go window blinds shopping today. Weekend always our only time to shop together, therefore, we have to take our kids with us to shop our new window blinds on the weekend. When we walked in we’ve been told to wait for couple minutes. We understand, and we are totally fine. So we are kind of hanging around the table seating area. Of course, our kids are sitting down on the chair, and not even talking maybe just rolling the window blind’s rope on his finger and the guy coming from no where says, «those are not for you it’s actually our customer’s.» (My kid are 5 and 10) I mean I totally understand what’s his concern, so both my husband n I apologized to him but, this guy didn’t even look at us and took the thing and walked away like we didn’t even exist?!? and the next thing he does is he talk to this other lady immediately! Hello??? We’ve been waiting for at least 15 minutes. Waiting for someone to help us. Can you believe it? If I can give a zero rating I would! This is the one in Palo Alto.

I can’t be more happy with the window coverings I have purchased from Window & Beyond in Palo Alto, twice! This Unilocal write up is way past due, but I have to tell you that the quality of decorating advice by Doreen and installation by Rick are superb. Not only that, when one of the shade had a little wrinkle, they took it right back and got us another custom shade without a hassle. Also Doreen advised us on how to get the best price and saved us some money. I was so happy, I recommended this to my Yoga Buddies and at least four of they used this company to replace their window coverings. I know they were all happy with what they got in service and product. So if you need to replace those window covering, which we tend to ignore till it falls apart, call them. They come to your home and the advice is free.

Outstanding service. If you want to do it right the first time, go to Windows and Beyond. Rick and Doreen helped me choose plantation shutters for my casement windows. Rick has decades of experience with shutters, and that made a much bigger difference than I would have thought. He made sure the slats and the separators were placed to look exactly right, even though the windows were not all uniform. And he figured out how to install them even though my window latches were extra long and initially bumped into the shutter frame. You don’t anticipate these little issues, and I was relieved Rick knew exactly what to do. Service was prompt and reliable too. Very reasonably priced. Now I am having Doreen help me cover two sliding doors. She has a great eye and tons of experience. She is also respectful of my budget. 5 stars!

We used Windows & Beyond twice, once at our current house and once at our previous house. We are very happy with the results both times.
For our current house, Doreen did all the windows in our four bedrooms. Each room is unique with its own style and fabric. The only reason we didn’t have her do more is because we decided not to put any window coverings on our living room, dinning room and family room. Our lot is pretty big, we don’t need the privacy and we want all the natural light.
For our previous house, Doreen did all the windows in the entire house. We have gotten many compliments for our living room window coverings when guests visited.
Doreen has been in the window design business for a long time. She is very experience, friendly and nice to work with.

I have worked with Doreen personally and have also referred her to my clients. She is, as someone said, like «Windowpedia!» I’ve never met a window coverings professional that knows as much as Doreen does. What’s really nice is that she will work within your budget as well. We got window blinds in three stages for our new home, and she was very professional each time. If you want to get one window treated or the whole house, she’s happy to provide stellar advice and great service on any size order. My clients have enjoyed working with Doreen and the staff at Windows & Beyond as well. I highly recommend this company!

Doreen was fantastic to work with from start to finish. She has encyclopedic (wikipedic?) knowledge of everything related to window treatments, as evidenced by her skill as she guided us through the decision-​making process for our project. Her installation expert, Rick, was also a very skillful professional. He was extremely precise in the installation process, which I really appreciated. Rick even fixed some slightly skewed existing blinds in the house for free! The living room looks absolutely beautiful now, and I look forward to working with Doreen and Rick again.

I walked in not knowing what I wanted for my master bedroom with a sliding glass door. Doreen worked with me to find exactly what I needed. She even had someone come out that someday (on a Saturday) to measure. Within a week and a half the blinds were installed. I was amazed by the Installation which took approximately 15 minutes. I love my new blinds and was very pleased by the service and quality of work and product. I will use them again when I’m in need of more window coverings.

I was very happy with the service I received from Doreen when ordering a replacement Hunter Douglas blind. She took the time to go over all the options with me. Pricing was fair and the blind was delivered ahead of schedule. Next time I am shopping for window coverings, I would definitely talk to her and Windows and Beyond first!

This is the same as the one with the same name but having an office in Mountain View and a showroom in Fremont. It is relocated to Palo Alto. I worked with Doreen on and off for an entire year to decorate our newly purchased house. She is great. She is knowledgeable, pleasant, flexible, and very considerate of my needs. When things went wrong with one of the orders, she tried her best to get me what I wanted without adding costs to me. I will definitely work with her again and recommend her to my friends.
