We’re DONA certified Doulas experienced assisting new parents.

The Postpartum Doula:

Helps after the birth with breastfeeding and maternal postnatal care, newborn care: bathing, diapering, umbilical cord care, soothing techniques and learning to read you baby’s feeding cues. We are helpful around the house taking care of any necessary tasks for the family laundry, errands, tidying up and we are very good healthy cooks!

Ruth has owned Doula Care since 1991, A postpartum certified doula through DONA (Doulas of North America), and a CLC Certified Lactation Counselor from the Healthy Baby Project, and completed an additional 500 hours of clinical training in human lactation at Beth Israel Medical Center in NYC, a professional member in the NY chapter of (NYLCA) Lactation Consultants Association, A founding member and past treasurer for the NYC chapter of ICAN (International Cesarean Awareness Network) and currently serve as the moderator for the Metropolitan Doula Group Yahoo list serve.
