Floor Store of West End

Did not follow agreed upon instructions, to match gloss finish with gloss and when called on it at the end he slopped up the job with bubbles and rough surfaces. Rushed out without doing the minor repairs that would have taken another two minutes. If you care about your instructions being followed, do not use this firm.

We had a flood and the floors were ruined. Mykola was very responsive to our needs and took care of removing the wood very quickly. He coordinated everything according to the coop building’s rules. He installed a new hardwood floor that we selected and we are very pleased with it and his workmanship. The floors look beautiful We are also very pleased at the timeliness of getting the job done. There was no delay and his price was reasonable. I recommend him highly.

I just called Floor Store about repairing a section of my wood floor & they were very honest about the fact that I wouldn’t be able to match the section perfectly. Not good news for me as it means I will have to replace the floor — but I only wish that the flooring guys who did the job had told me that in the first place! I don’t know about the actual job the Floor Store will do — but thank them for their honest assessment of the situation! Honesty is hard to find in this city…

Mykola, who manages the store, is a fabulous person and he was the only person who quickly hunted down the exact wood type for which I was looking (White Oak — Quartersawn, 3.25 inches wide). Furthermore, he not only matched the least expensive price I was quoted from out of the 10 places (in and out of state) I contacted, but was able to deliver it faster than any other supplier.
Mykola’s expertise in wood flooring is so readily apparent as he enthusiastically explains the wood types and values to you as well as the wood care throughout the entire process. He truly cares about helping you find the right wood floor for your needs.
His assistant is equally fabulous and quite knowledgeable (sorry, forgot her name). She was able to give great advice about protecting the wood floors and was just as responsive and quick to be helpful with any question when I had more questions I had forgotten to ask Mykola.
I give the Floor Store of the West Side the highest recommendation. Go Floor Store & Mykola & his assistant!
