Jacob did an amazing job. I used to drive all the way to Brooklyn to get my hair cut. Not any more

Mike gave me a great haircut for $ 18(plus tip, which he deserved). Straight razor in the back and sideburns. Quick, but spent time for the detailed parts. Nice guy. Interesting birds in cages. No waiting as a walk-in, good business hours. I recommend it.

Shop is on point! Old school classic haircutters with birds chirping. Tried Alex and Jacob both were great especially when you are in a rush.

My favorite neighborhood barber. I’ve been to two barbershops in my seven years of living in Manhattan, and this has been my go-to spot since moving to the UES roughly four years ago. Alex, Jacob, Bella, and other staff members are extremely friendly. They recognize recurring customers and welcome newcomers with open arms. I appreciate their efforts in engaging in conversation, as it gives the business a relaxing and neighborhood feel. They do a good job of listening to customers’ requests and providing consistency in haircuts. I always ask for a trim — 3 on the trimmer, shorter in the back and on the sides, little longer on top and in the front. It doesn’t take long for them to produce quality work, including a clean shave of the neck with a straight blade. Pricing is reasonable — $ 18 for the described cut. I recommend coming here if you’re new to the area or in search of a good barber!

Jacob and Alex are great barbers, friendly, very personable, don’t talk too much but if you feel like having a conversation with them while they work, you will have a delightful conversation. My barber, Jacob, works quickly but very skillfully, but is never in a hurry. That sounds like a contradiction but it isn’t, think about it. The price for a haircut and a trim for my beard is very reasonable. I always tip well because I like the results and the attention I get while my hair is cut. The shop is airy and sunny(on sunny days). A-1 in all respects. I am glad I found these guys.

Great barber shop. Alex was a nice guy and gave me exactly what I asked for. Quick, friendly, and probably the best haircut I’ve gotten in nyc. These guys are obviously good at what they do. From their ratings I picked them out and they definitely did not disappoint. Five stars for a five star haircut. Highly recommended.

Got what was supposed to be a «Royal» Shave. Worst shave ever! what was supposed to be a very pleasant experience ended as a very low quality shave — when shaving myself i get a much closer shave — my face feels very sensitive like the barber, Jacob, used a blunt blade and he certainly didn’t take enough time to warm my face up with a towel and a result, as I mentioned, is a poor quality shave and irritated skin-rash on the neck. What Jacob did take time is to imply that the tip was not high enough. 1 star for shaving. No opinion on haircut, but don’t think that I will try my luck with getting a haircut at this place

I’ve been going to Jean Romano for a couple years now, they really care about their craft and are almost snobby about it, which benefits the customer. They’re all very friendly, create a family-like atmosphere, and give great haircuts. Considering the fair price, I always tip well.

Strolled in on a whim because of good Unilocal reviews, and very glad I did! My haircut was very well done, especially considering how inexpensive and quick it was. $ 20 later, I’m a new man! Everyone was very friendly and relaxed. Highly recommended.

I usually stop in on a Monday or Tuesday, when I have a day off, and they always do a great job. Alex is a nice guy, who’s always pleasant and friendly. Yes, they’re quick, and am fine with that, as I can’t stand spending an hour at a salon with music blasting, people racing all around, etc. This is a nice chill spot that has me in and out in about 20 minutes for $ 20. Can’t beat that!

These guys are just a pleasure to have in the area. They are pleasant, give great service and excellent haircuts. And they don’t charge an arm and a leg. They are my new go to guys

Last haircut wasn’t exactly great. 5 – 7 min is way too quick for quality work to be done.

Alex is the man! Just cleaned me up real good. I let my hair go and was ashamed to be walking around with the mop on my head. Now I’m sporting a clean looking hair-do. Thanks Alex! Great guys, nice atmosphere, good chat. Go here!

Jacob cut my hair and did a wonderful job – traditional men’s haircut including a neck shave with a straight razor. The shop was everything anyone could want in a Barber’s shop, and the price was so reasonable. Really personable and friendly service. I’ll certainly be back.

Recently moved to the neighborhood and found this place on Unilocal. All of the reviews are right on point. Great value at $ 18 and got exactly what I wanted and asked for. Faded the sides, layered with scissors, and thinned it out. Also included a straight razor shave on the back of the neck, and great conversation. Will definitely be coming back as a regular. I recommend it to anybody and everybody in the area.

I wish I hadn’t paid $ 21 at Supercuts and $ 25 at work before stumbling upon this place. For $ 18, you get the works, and for 95% of guys, myself included, that’s all you need. So refreshing to get a no-nonsense haircut in NYC for a great price.
