If I could give them 10 starts I would, this is the REALDEAL! I ordered 3 corn shell tacos, Amazing! Bean Burrito’s SUPERB! and nacho’s JUSTFABULOUS! This is what Mexican done right should taste like. Further, the prices were more than reasonable. The delivery was superfast and the delivery person was professional. All I can say is order up :)

Wow — La Posada has improved its food across the board, and without increasing prices! Takeaway and eat in has been consistently good for the last few months. Also, their delivery is super fast for the Kips Bay area. Great work!

After months of staying indoors to pump for my baby. I finally get to go outside for lunch. So my first lunch choice is La Posada. Food is great to me because I rarely have Mexican food(hubby not a fan of much foreign foods, boring, I know lol). So anyway, I’m pretty sure the older lady is part owner of this joint, HOWEVER, nasty nasty nasty attitude for no reason. English is obviously not her first language which is fine, I don’t judge. But no smile, no welcoming, no nada, just a blank stare waiting for you to order. Perhaps I’m being too sensitive, but I would like a little warmth knowing that I’m giving you my hard earned money. Hope to hear back from the owner, but seriously doubt that. I believe in good service when your spending money no matter how much, hence the 3 stars. Food I’ll give it 3.5−4stars

I frequent this place and I love the food. Small little authentic Mexican restaurant. People seem to compare this to chipotle but chipotle obviously isn’t authentic Mexican. Their beans are pre– made. They don’t really use the authentic Mexican ingredients. But anyway, affordable and delicious. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

I come to this place every time I’m craving some real, authentic Mexican food and friendly service. This is a hole in the wall restaurant so keep your eyes peeled so you don’t miss it! The place seems to be family owned and the person at the register is always patient while I decide which delicious choice I want. Some o my favorite items to get are the nachos(but eat them while the cheese is still warm!), the burritos, and the enchiladas! The food is very flavorful and the portions are very reasonable, unlike a lot of places in NYC where the portions are tiny! The prices are also excellent here – the only reason I give them four stars instead of five is the $ 8 credit card minimum. The prices are so great that a lot of times an entire meal for one with drink comes to less than $ 8! I hope this place stays around for a long, long time!

The quesadilla is good. I added sour cream and chicken, I also had the soft chicken taco, really good, the soda is not over priced and the place is clean and the staff is really nice and friendly

I stopped by looking for a cheap, quick Mexican food dinner, and that’s exactly what this is. It’s a hole in the wall kind of restaurant with a relatively large menu. They have a board full of well-priced items and their house specials on the wall to the right. We went with a carnitas super burrito and the chicken flautas house special. The burrito was pretty good, with flavorful carnitas, beans, rice, and sour cream. It came with guacamole which was sparse and a little runny. The flavors mixed well, though, and we enjoyed this dish. The flautas were some of the worst I’ve had. They clearly were heated from a frozen state, since the center was still cold. It was a crunchy tortilla with hard pieces of chicken inside and flavorless sour cream scooped on top. Basically, I would return here, but only order things that need to be made fresh, like burritos, tacos, etc, and not things that could be pre-frozen, like flautas.

Eh. La Posada is a small Mexican spot that doesn’t try to be anything other than standard, at the very best. The shrimp taco was pretty good, while the bistec, despite having considerable flavor, was only a mish mash of bits and pieces of steak. The guacamole wasn’t so much guacamole as it was repurposed cold avocado soup. Girl at the counter was the least friendly person I experienced that day. If I’m passing by, maybe I’d grab a shrimp or veggie taco for a quick meal, but I don’t see myself going out of my way to come here.

Currently sitting here, eating what is arguably the worse guacamole ever. This is a rip off. These folks here wouldn’t even eat the food they sell. There is no way that they would prepare for themselves guacamole as watery and bitter as the one they serve here for sale. It’s a blatant lack of integrity. Go to any other place but here.

It’s a small place but the shrimp quesadillas and shrimp tacos are amazing. They season the shrimp and sauté them before adding them. So tasty and pretty fast. No sour cream comes with the purchase of taco or quesadilla. Don’t buy it here it’s almost $ 2.00 for a little side cup when you can go across the street for the same price and get 8oz

Much better tasting and cheaper than Chipotle. I got the fajita with chicken and steak and it was huge. I was very happy. Also, no extra charge for guac! The tacos were really good too. Get the horchata!!!

We both ordered burritos here. The place is tiny, but nice. The food itself was really yummy, but it was messy as hell. Dunno if the tortillas went a little stale that day but they were not pliable, and those broke apart within two bites. One burrito wasn’t even folded the traditional way, meaning it had to get eaten with a knife and fork. The flan was super yummy though! If you’re in the area, worth a visit for Mexican food, but don’t go out of your way.

*Shocked face* why? This is place is awesome! Fellow Unilocalers, I have to disagree with some of your reviews. Meh, everyone is entitled to their opinion but I still disagree with yours. Moving to something more important… The super burritos are what the name describes, SUPER! I recommend the super burritos and here are your opitions: chorizo, carne asada, beef, i prefer chorizo(it has a kick to it). The beans are tasty and the overall taste very authentic. The place is tiny with limited seating, and peak hour is between 12−1p.m. The super burritos are part of the lunch special and it comes with can of soda for $ 8 and change. Service is fast and the place clean. It gets 4 stars because in all fairness, i still have to try other menu items… super enchiladas, here I come.

Good consistent food at chipotle prices. Great lunch specials which include soda and your entrée choice. Got the Chicken fajita with rice(around ~$ 10). big pieces of chicken compared to the chopped square of chipotle. I would say this is a hidden gem. Ive been twice. Id go more often based on my previous two experiences. Space is small for a group of people to eat, but great for LATE night dinner… TAKEOUT! It’s not as flavorful as the food at chipotle, but it feels like a home cooked meal… almost healthy because its not too much salt and MSG and other crazy flavors.

Bland food, for a cheap price. If you want a $ 5 meal, you can do a lot better. Even with tons of their hot sauce, I could barely taste anything. Pass.

Very good Mexican food in comparison to what you would get in the area — a Chipotle, Choza, Taco Express — although probably not as good as actually very good Mexican food. It’s also about two dollars cheaper across the board than what you will get in other places. (I think a lot of those Americanized places are pretty poor and would only support Chipotle because of their non-GMO philosophy, though their food is mediocre. Choza is basically the worst thing you could ever actually buy, and disqualified from any and every discussion.) However, the Super Burrito here is very good. I would go meat-less, just because their meat is probably far from organic and riddled with dope. But they also give you a little salad and a free drink(for lunch) and they have peanuts to eat while you wait. Bravo! They put avocado and sour cream in everything without you paying extra for it, which is really nice. You know, $ 3 for avocado at most joints — go F yourself! It’s nice to go to a place and not get treated like a fool. Also, extremely quick and the portions are well-sized.

Decent Mexican food for cheap, ordered chicken breast with rice and beans. Didn’t really expect the chicken breast to be cut so thin so it was a bit dried. The flavor was okay. Will try their other items on the menu.

It seems difficult to mess up such basic foods to the point where they are not enjoyable. I ordered a quesadilla and two tacos. The quesadilla didn’t have any cheese. It was basically two small pieces of tortilla on top of each other. The tacos were bland and soggy. I am not very picky, but these simple dishes were inedible.

Lets get down to it. Basic mex new york style. We already know goood mex is fairly non existent out here. This place was good as far as using what you need to make mex, but it isnt authentic. Anyone could make this. The pricing was okay. I think the large burrito is worth it but not much else. Basically it was okay, but not a place to go running back to unless its the only mex around.
