I will be the first to admit I was not in love with my own real «maternity body.» In fact, I didn’t think I’d want a photographic record of being huge! But I just got my photos back from my maternity session at Monkeys and Peas, and I am so happy I chose to have my photos done with Trina! All of the images are different and personal, tasteful and artistic. Thank you so much for these keepsakes!
I picked Monkeys & Peas because I checked out the photographer’s Instagram @monkeysandpeas and I really appreciated how all the photos look different. It is not just one style, one kind of lighting, one kind of pose, etc. No, I could tell that Trina was really connecting with her subjects.
When I finally booked a time for the shoot, Trina reached out to me to ask me questions about me and my style and my personality. She wanted to know if I had ideas for the shoot– location, outfits, a theme. I really needed her help on this, but I sent her snapshots of a few things and she helped me by telling me what she liked as well.
Trina is really warm and kind and funny, and I understand why her photos of kids turn out so amazingly. This same humor & kindness helped put me at ease, even when she was shooting me in just my underwear! I can’t wait until we can go back again to take family photos with our baby.

We had a newborn and family shoot mixed together with Trina in July. She was very accommodating in tailoring the package towards what we wanted. She was sweet, easy to get along with and great with our kids. She did not rush the process and when my toddler became uncooperative she offered us another siblings shoot in the future to make up lost photo opportunities. She was genuine and warm and the photos came out amazing!

Trina is dynamic, warm and a compelling blend of creativity and professionalism. She has a gift for making babies, children and adults at ease and for drawing the best out of her subjects. Seeing her in action trying to bring out smiles from our 16 month old was quite a treat. She is creative, bright, and passionate about what she does.
Trina first took our pregnancy photos. and my husband and I were so pleased with the experience and photo memories that we engaged her for our family portraits once our baby arrived. Each time, she exceeded our highest expectations. She makes the photo shoot experience fun and easy, and before you know it she takes the shots she needs. Just as impressive is her post photo shoot production approach.
We feel very lucky to have found such an amazing photographer and highly recommend Monkeys and Peas. Hope Trina will take our family photos for years to come!

Trina is AMAZING!!! After a disappointing experience with another photographer I was really selective when choosing Monkeys and Peas. I definitely made the right choice with Trina. Even before she came to my home to photograph my 2 yr old and 6 month old I knew she was going to be great. We had several phone conversations and she was incredibly patient with my questions and concerns. The day we choose ended up being gloomy and even though the lighting in my apartment wasn’t great she still managed to take the most perfect photos. She was so good with both my daughter and son and had the tricks to make them cooperate. I am pretty picky about this stuff and I can’t say enough about how impressed I was with her. I can’t wait for my son to turn one so we can have our next shoot!

Highly recommended! We did a newborn shoot at home with Trina. From start to end it was fantastic to work with Trina, she came on time with lots of accessories to play with (even if we had our own). The photos came out amazing, words cannot express how happy we are with the end product. Not only were the photos of our baby girl came out just stunning, we also had a family picture that is something we will enjoy for many years to come. She was patient and gentle with the baby and didn’t even adding our first born (our doggie) to the family shoot which came out adorable. She is reasonably priced and I would recommend her to any of my friends! Thank you so much!

What an absolute wonderful experience that produced timeless images. Trina did an amazing job of capturing such a special moment in our lives. She was professional but extremely personable. It really felt like I had a friend taking our photos. She came to our home and didn’t rush the process as new parents know that much of a baby’s behavior is out of our control. She allowed us time to settle him down to a sleep but also took the opportunity while he was awake to capture his beautiful eyes and candid moments. She was game for all of our suggestions of different poses and props. She knew all the tricks to calm a waking baby back into slumber. Within two weeks of our session I received our our images and they were simply stunning. Beyond my expectations. Brought the grandparents to tears! I can’t wait for more milestones in our family’s future so we can work with Trina again!

The overall experience, ability to work with children, and **incredible** photos we received, were above and beyond our expectations.
We’ve had a couple of shoots done with our daughter, none with near the same level of success. Specifically, Monkeys & Peas:
1. Was able to get her to smile and laugh like **no other photographer.** For the entire duration of a two hour shoot our daughter was smiling and laughing. (FYI it was a longer shoot because of the number of outfits and backgrounds we wanted)
2. Took so many incredible shots. We are completely undecided as to which of the incredible photos to choose from, as there are SO MANY unbelievable photos!
3. Leveraged existing backgrounds of our home *so effectively* to promote texture, depth, and emotion in all of the photos. Again, the results were something that I wasn’t even aware was in the realm of «possible.»

WOW! Wow! Wow!
There are a LOT of maternity and baby photographers out there, but so much of what is offered is pretty cookie cutter. Monkey’s and Peas really stood out! And boy are we glad we went with them. What they managed to capture of our family and our daughter was a really intimate view into our lives and her tiny magical world. All of the photos are just drenched in lovely ambient light and have a really dreamy cast to them that qualifies this time of our lives and our baby’s.
I’ve never seen my baby laugh so much for so long, Monkeys and Peas knew all the tricks! Both super professional and efficient with the time we had, which are two hard descriptives to apply when photographing babies, M & P guided us towards the right outfit choices, the right places in our home and a variety of lighting situations.
Monkeys and Peas has gifted us with the most amazing photos of our daughter and our family!

We had a wonderful session with Trina who captured our newborn so well. Trina was very easy to work with and asked a lot of questions to really understand what type of photos we were looking for. We will definitely use them again!

Trina is probably one of the most talented photographers that I’ve ever worked with– this includes our wedding photographer.
She took our newborn pictures which turned out absolutely stunning– they brought tears to my eyes! She was so sweet and such a pleasure to work with. She is very prompt at responding to questions you may have and turns around her pictures in exactly two weeks (which is just wonderful when you are an eager first time mom who wants to send out birth announcements)! Not only did she have some brilliant ideas for the pictures we should take, she also let me share with her pictures I found on Pinterest and was able to take some similar photos (but they were even better than the photos I pinned). Another amazing thing about her is that she is also willing to work with you pets too. She captured some wonderful pictures of my dog and daughter and family pictures with our dog as well!
I can’t say enough great things about Trina and how much I would recommend her! I’m planning to use her for all future pictures (e.g. First birthday) of our baby!!!

Hire Monkeys & Peas! After extensive research for both a maternity shoot and newborn shoot, I settled on working with Monkey’s & Peas. I loved the representation of their work on their website and felt like they would be able to capture the types of images my husband and I were interested in.
I put in a request online for information and heard back within 24 hours from Trina. She called me to answer questions and explain their packages. This phone call immediately set her apart from the other photographers I had reached out and I appreciated the phone call as opposed to a form email or the reiteration of website language into an email.
Unfortunately due to scheduling issues, we weren’t able to work with her for the maternity shoot but as my due date approached I made sure to contact Trina and schedule our newborn session. This is where she won me over all over again. In our conversation, Trina explained to me in detail how the shoot would work and what to expect. I felt immediately at ease when she explained that sometimes the shoots are challenging and if we faced any challenges with the baby, not to panic, she would reschedule to come back on another day. I thought this was amazing and showed her understanding of how to work with her subjects as well as how to manage new parents. She booked two dates with me in accordance to my due date and we planned to be in touch when I delivered.
For the shoot, Trina came to our apartment (her suggestion and no extra cost) which helped us tremendously since the baby was only 6 days old! She was just as lovely in person as over the phone — very professional, careful, respectful and so gentle with the baby. She brought with her some props and a backdrop so once we decided on our set ups, we were able to start the shoot.
I can’t express enough what a pleasure she was to work with. My husband and I both felt totally comfortable with her energy — her skill set was obvious in her handling of the baby and when we needed breaks, she almost seemed to disappear to give us privacy and time to soothe the baby. I knew as the shoot was happening that the photos would be phenomenal because of how relaxed we all felt.
Our proofs came exactly 2 weeks after the shoot (as promised) and they did not disappoint. Trina captured some of the most amazing images of our family. I truly loved them all. We are beyond thrilled with our experience as well as the results. I’m so happy that we decided to work with her and would highly recommend to anyone looking to do this type of shoot or other family shoots. I am sure we will work with her again soon.
