Specialties
Located on Rockefeller Plaza, Morrell Wine Bar & Café features an extensive wine list of more than 150 wines by the glass and nearly 1,000 by the bottle, including magnums, double magnums, and imperials of some of the world’s top producers and hard-to-obtain vintages. Along with a seasonal cocktail menu with house-infused liquors and an aged beer vault, the wine bar offers a recently updated menu of globally inspired bites and wine-friendly entrees.
History
Established in 1999.
A New York institution since 1947, Morrell Wine Group has expanded from a small wine store on East 49th to a flagship retail store and wine bar at One Rockefeller Center and fine wine auction division. In 1999, Morrell Wine Bar & Café opened at One Rockefeller Center, next to the newly relocated retail store, as the first «wine bar» in the city, dedicated to serving a wide range of wines by the glass. Today, the wine bar features 150 wines by the glass, one of the largest in the city, and the company’s massive Rare Wine Vault includes some of the most difficult to find bottles in the world.
The only wine retailer in New York with a wine bar, an auction division, e-commerce site and a storage company, Morrell’s unrivaled collection of highly allocated wines and unmatched expertise makes it a destination for wine lovers and collectors from all over the world.
Meet the Manager
Todd S.
Manager
Growing up in his family’s lively, Brooklyn kitchen, full of the flavors of his Italian and Lebanese heritage, Todd Simon developed a deep love for food. Naturally, he was drawn to the hospitality industry and pursued a degree in Hospitality Administration in Boca Raton, Florida, with a minor in Culinary Arts. While in Florida, Todd worked as a banquet manager and server at Testa’s in Palm Beach, the oldest restaurant in the state, before returning to New York City.
In 2008, Simon joined Morrell Wine Bar & Café, becoming the general manager in 2011. In addition to expanding his wine knowledge, Simon’s position has allowed him to tap into his passion for cooking, collaborating with executive chef Juan Carlos Mendoza to create the restaurant’s menu.
