New York Radiology Associates

I had a CT Scan done here last week and had no problems at all. The staff is very nice, the location is convenient and the CT tech made me feel completely at ease. Thankfully my scan was normal.
I wish reviews were kept relevant to the services provided. One of the negative reviews below is about an outside doctor forgetting to prescribe the right test and another one star review has to do with someone not understanding their own medical benefits. Duh! Once I realized those same people almost ONLY leave bad reviews I knew to ignore them. Come on people, stay on topic — we’re talking about scans here!

Okay, this was my second time here for 2^nd mammogram and this experience was even better than the first. My appt was at 3 pm and I got there about 2:45pm and was out by 3:30 pm. The staff were real sweet and I had no issues with customer service or the process. I even had the same technician, Mary who joked and laughed to make the test less uncomfortable. I’ll definitely return to this site.

Been going here for over 20 years and always looked forward to having a pleasant experience with the desk staff, technicians and there were no billing issues.
However in 2013, I received a $ 30.00 co-​pay NY Radiology Associates insisted I owe despite my explanation of benefits (they have a copy of) stating there is no co-​pay for preventive services. For almost a year I was hounded by NYR and spent well over 15 hours of my time speaking with various reps of NYR and my insurance co. NY Radiology has now sent this unjustified claim to NBCC and I in turn have made a complaint with the NYS Attorney General. And, yesterday. when I contacted Valencia at The National Bureau of Collections Corp (the collection agency) she stated that NBCC is not intimidated by the NYS Attorney General. Maybe they will be intimidated by the BBB or the Dept. Consumer Affairs.
Something has happened to the professional environment of this location. I did not receive a confirmation call about my appointment today, When I arrived sans the referral, they didn’t attempt to help me or even mention that I should call my Doctor. After waiting 40 minutes for an appointment that I arrived 20 minutes early for, I called my Dr. and found out that they had NOT called and I had the referral faxed immediately. I sat another 20 minutes to be told Mary was available. Mary was snippy, unfriendly and I only hope she was a good technician. And, the desk person who took my sign-​in information just continued to read a magazine — A MAGAZINE.
Making an appointment for 2015 was equally perplexing. There were two staff members in the appointment room: One was shopping on his computer, and the other person (a female) didn’t bother to look at me while asking me for information, and sported a blue tooth ear piece as if she was Donald Trump.
All in all, there’s work to be done with courtesy, .professionalism and respect for the patients coming to this facility for serious tests.
And, at this point. I really don’t know whether I will return.

I chose to go here because it was a convenient location for me, but I doubt I’ll make the choice to go back. What was already an anxiety-​ridden experience turned into a frustrating four-​hour ordeal.
I had a 10am appointment and arrived early. At 10:45 I was told that I needed an additional test that my doctor had not prescribed. Questions as to why this test was necessary and why I was not told I needed it when I made the appointment were brushed off and I was ushered to another floor and another waiting room. At 11:45 I was told it would be another 5 minute wait and my questions were brushed off again. At 12:15 I was finally seen for the first test.
I never saw the radiologist and after my second test I finally walked out at 1:50pm, almost exactly four hours after I arrived, still unsure as to why I needed an additional test. «It’s protocol» was the only answer I ever received, and that wasn’t very explanatory.

I think they are closing because I just got sent to 14^th St, and I hope they are because for the past 4 years my doctor wanted a mammogram and sonogram. Each time the idiot doctor insisted I didn’t need one. So I went to the 14^th St. (another company altogether) and they did a sonogram. I just got a call from my doctor — I have a ton of nodes and lumps and calcified bumps. So if anyone has been refused a service or confused by NY Radiology. I urge you to run to another place and get it redone. I now have to go to a breast specialist to sort it all out.
