The wedding registry choices at Scully & Scully are stunning. Gorgeous old-​world china, glassware, and silver selections. I wish I could make my choices all over again! Emily S, their registry consultant was delightfully helpful when I needed a wedding gift for my husband’s nephew.

It’s been awhile since my last review so I thought I would update my current experience with this company. I am happy to say that my overall experience with this company, is just as it was previously with both the customer service given to me with my phone orders with «Dmitri» and the quality of the products offered by Scully and Scully. I placed 3 separate orders in the past 3 weeks and am very pleased with how everything worked out. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Extremely elegant furnishings and considering the quality reasonably priced. But, yes, it’s $$$$. No, this is not Ikea. A reviewer found it «stuffy» and if you dislike Chippendale or Georgian furniture and think velvet bean bags are groovy this is not the place for you.
The staff can be a bit of a pain if you walk in in a sweatshirt as I did. But once I told them what I wanted blue skies and pink unicorns were everywhere.
Shipping costs steep, but compare that against NYC sales tax. Give up; can’t win; just pay. I thought I was clever buying a similar item from another home furnishing web seller that had free shipping and no sales tax. Once the items arrived I did a side-​by-​side comparison. I spent $ 140 sending back the free shipping item.
Believe it — you can pay a LOT more for a Park Avenue item.

I’ve always felt like I had a good idea on how to decorate any and every room so when it came to interior design — I didn’t think I really needed the help.
Upon walking by Scully and Scully and checking out their window display — I walked in and I FELL in love!
I was immediately introduced to some of the designers and they scheduled me for a meeting in my apartment the following week!
The designers really dived in a showed me just how awesome my living room could look. They showed me fabrics, floor plans and a timeline so I would know exactly when and how everything would be done. (Oh and cost! Which is always good to know right up front!)
Jonathan and Kelsey are seriously the best interior designers! Without them my living room would still be super blah!
If you walk by here or are even considering interior design for any room in your home — GO to Scully and Scully! They will help you out and make sure your place is looking

My partner and I were married in Central Park in 2013. We stopped at Scully & Scully afterwards and I purchased a RCD bird as a memento and to add to my collection. The gentleman who assisted me could not have been more gracious. I was so pleased that I wrote to Mr. Scully and told him so. This year, my partner called the store and ordered another bird as my Christmas gift. He experience was also very positive. The order arrived exactly when promised and was ready for presentation in a Scully & Scully box and ribbon. Also, I might add that the price was totally in line with other retailers of the same item. Obviously, I am a satisfied customer in every way.

Still needing to get some home goods, I went to Scully and Scully after my disastrous experience at Williams Sonoma. Little over priced and really waspy but so much better service and and worth the few extra dollars. Manager was on the floor and staff were pleasant

We went there today and again had a wonderful conversation with the manager (Matt). Also; the store has now expanded to the second floor, and that floor has (beautiful) furniture. In particular, lots of inlaid wood. In addition to Matt, the other two men working there were very pleasant — and that plus the many beautiful items throughout the store made me decide to upgrade my rating to five stars.

I ordered a pillow from this company and the moment I tried to place the pillow insert into the pillow cover the zipper broke. I emailed customer service more than once and they absolutely did not even give the courtesy of a reply. I have since checked with other stores (though not «ultra high end» like Scully and Scully) – e.g. Gump’s. These stores always promised they would honor a no-​cost replacement in such a situation. This store, in my humble opinion, thinks that a satisfied customer has no place in their economic success. But if my review or any similar ones denoting an extremely dissatisfied customer have anything to do with it, maybe they will go down the tube for being such uncaring snobs.

Went in today to look at China to register for my wedding, but the sales associate was too busy on a personal call on her cell phone to even acknowledge me. I left — sad and angry…

I had never been to the store before but was intrigued by the website and magazine so I figured I would venture in. Upon arrival I was impressed by the store but was most pleasantly surprised when I learned that they had an in-​house interior design department that could help me with my living room. I met Kelsey on my first visit and she was very friendly and knowledgeable and able to make my vision into a reality after a few meetings. I now have an area in my home that I can host guests and consistently get great feedback on! I would strongly recommend working with Kelsey at Scully & Scully!

This is one of my favorite stores in NYC when I need to buy a special gift for any of my family members. Even if I have no idea what I am shopping for I always end up buying something amazing. It is a relief to have a store that carries good quality gifts in a city where cheap mass-​produced gifts are on every corner. My favorite items to shop for are their leather gifts and crystal. Their show room is huge with great options everywhere you look and their customer service has always been very courteous and helpful. I just bought a beautiful baccarat butterfly for my mom for mother’s day and she loved it. The employee who was helping me, a blonde young woman, was very patient and helpful when she showed me around the store when I told her I wasn’t sure what I was looking for. Also whenever I have a wedding to attend and want to bring something special I come by and talk to the ladies in the bridal department on the second floor.

High quality items with great customer service!
Everyone at the store is very helpful. I have ordered all of my furniture from this store because of the craftsmanship and expertise on each and every item. You will be pleased shopping at Scully and Scully.

I’ve never been to the physical store.
But the web store is excellent, the catalogue is lovely, the employee I spoke with was extremely helpful, and the figurine I received is beautiful and occupies a prominent spot in my dining room.
It is expensive, but I’m a fan.

I was ordering gifts from here. I placed the order in August and was told they would arrive in 2 – 3 weeks. When I called the first week of October, they said the items were back ordered until November. No one was planning on contacting me. Luckily I called since I needed them as gifts by a certain time.
When they finally arrived, the monogram initials were in gold and they had splattered the gold paint all around the initials. When I called about this they suggested taking Vaseline to clean it off. The salesperson even took sides with the person who does the monogramming saying he’s never had someone complain before and why don’t I just remove it myself. I asked for a discount and he was confused why. I had to explain that it looked like something I ordered off a discount website, not something I was spending over a $ 100 on for each item. They also shipped the products in unmarked all white cardboard boxes. No where on the packaging or item is there a brand name. Which makes it look even cheaper. I tried to return the whole thing since the items are essentially damaged and look like crap, but all they could do was give me 10% off.
You are paying high prices for quality, but don’t even get quality and instead just rude customer service.

12÷5÷10 I ordered desk accessories ($ 1500) online. The website says if items are unavailable S&S would contact me. I waited 10 days then decided to call and was told my items were backordered but… they were in the warehouse and should ship by ¹²⁄₁₇. I suggested the order be cancelled if S&S couldn’t deliver before 12÷23÷10 and was told the items would get to me in plenty of time. I even tried getting information online via their website which was brutal & very painful. The site needs some work. According to the website my items were to be shipped by 12÷20÷10. It is now ¹²⁄₂₁ and I’m still waiting. I called S&S once again and was told the items were in their warehouse (again) but have yet to be scanned in.
Good grief Charlie Brown! Next time I’ll go to Staples or Office Depot.

This store is the definition of «waspy». If you are looking for overpriced items that don’t have any relevance in today’s world, this is the place to go.

The only nice thing I can say about Scully and Scully is that they succeeded in delivering the very expensive, yet quite cute elephant that was purchased off of a friend’s wedding registry.
I don’t have any experience in the store, but I can tell you that I will never order from them again. My mailbox is constantly cluttered with catalogs. They have a Fall AND an early Fall. Really? It’s like junk mail galore, and they won’t go away. And what makes it worse is that they sold my name to other companies (like Gumps) out there, so I get dozens of those magazines.
Note to Scully and Scully: leave me alone. Please.

They must spend a small fortune on the catalogs alone. It’s great to browse those glossy pages. I’ve even ordererd some items over the years and still possess the adorable (adorable to me, at any rate!) needlepoint dog pillows. Scully and Scully reminds me a bit of Gump’s in San Francisco.
I wouldn’t say the furniture and soft furnishings are of the highest quality despite what the company says and none of the stuff’s made in the U.S. But if you can’t get to a source like North Carolina this is an option for you. If you have lots of money and/​or a yearning to name drop.
Scully is either aspirational shopping for those who did not grow up «To the Manor Born» and wish to give themselves a veneer of old world, Eastern seaboard eclecticism or for those who wish to add to a look they already possess. On offer are hard and soft furnishings, objet d’art galore, bibelots like that ghastly Herend tat, cutlery, china and what my mother calls ‘Bits and Pieces’. If you like Halcyon Days enamels, there’s a lot to choose from.
I’d be thrilled if I was given a small item from Scully & Scully but I’d think twice about paying through the nose for the Hyacinth Bucket snobbery in order to keep up with the Joneses. Scully is perfect for a certain country club type who loves to casually mention that they buy from an august firm who supplies the White House. If you are a parvenu who plays this game, you’re shopping at the right store.
When you go in to the retail store, service depends (again!) on the whim of the person waiting on you. Sadly, they can really lay it on here if you LOOK like a Scully & Scully customer. How I wish retailers would work on not visually profiling potential customers at first glance. I wasn’t dressed in 30-​Something Park Ave. mode when I went in and received nonchalant service. Their loss.
Like Takashimaya, I would not be at all surprised if I were to hear one day that Scully & Scully has closed its doors. I would hate to see that happen as the store and catalog has a definite look about it. It would really behoove them to keep their look but try to capture new a customer base. It is possible to live in the past and sell in the present.
