Super fast, professional and convenient. Went during lunch to copy 2 keys — and was done in a few minutes. He adjusted 1 key that wasn’t catching the lock as well the next day for free.
Cash only for key copies.

Super quick, a little expensive for a Medeco key (20 each), but most people won’t do them and I needed one ASAP.

Good place to copy keys but they don’t have that much in stock. I had to get my keys redone because they messed up the combo the first time.

I needed to get some key copies made during my lunch break so I stopped by and had 4 copies made. It was out the door in less than 10 minutes. It was $ 3 per key and cash only.

Hahaha!!! It happened with me finally)) I locked myself out of my condo. my friends did it many times and only told me stories about their locking situations and now I tried it myself.

Very poor service. I work in midtown and needed to make a copy of my house keys. The guy did a rush job copying my keys and none of them worked. They are also expensive.

Unbelievable in terms of speed. I walked in with a key I wanted to copy, and walked out with it three minutes later. It cost me about $ 3. Cash only for keys. The guy isn’t very customer friendly– was pretty rude, actually– but he gets the job done quickly. I don’t think there is another place as fast as this one when it comes to copying keys.

They tried charging me $ 20.00 for a key copy. Total rip off.
And they looked at me with a straight face while giving me this ridiculous price.
Also they have a cash only policy, which is not favorable to those that are charging $ 20.00 or more than most people.

I only had 20mins before work to get some spare keys made and they made two spares in 5mins. TOTAL!!! They only take cash but they are amazing!!!

Don’t even think about going anywhere else. Having gone several rounds with other «we make keys» places around town and then coming home to discover that they used the wrong blank or otherwise screwed up, I thought I try the professionals.
They have never made me a bad key, and they are if anything only marginally more expensive than your neighborhood hardware store. They’re pleasant, they’re fast, and I’m so glad I found them.

Went in to have a couple of keys made. The service was pretty good, and all the keys worked when I tried them at the office, which has not always happened when I have used other places. It would have been nice if they accepted credit cards for making keys.

I live in an elevator building. Since the landlords think it’s cute and fun to have non-​functioning locks on the lobby and entryway doors to my building, locking the elevator is pretty much the only way to prevent random people from wandering into my apartment and doing whatever people do when they’re the kind of people who just wander into strange apartments because every door is open. The problem is, our landlord gave us one precious elevator key, but there are two of us, and sadly we are not conjoined in any physical way, so who knows which one of us will need the precious elevator key when?
So, have you ever tried to get an elevator key copied? Yeah let’s just say I’ve had more than a reasonable amount of locksmith/​hardware store employees laugh in my face and tell me I have to get a copy from the elevator company. Because surely the elevator company will do that! The same elevator company that left us without elevator service for a month last year, and the same elevator company whose emergency in-​elevator phone goes straight to voicemail. Super on top of stuff, those guys.
This is the only place that I’ve encountered that will copy elevator keys AND copy them perfectly so they all work AND tell you how much it’s going to cost before they make the keys. Super nice guys. I want to hug them except that’s probably weird (and probably why they have that barrier-​thing between the employees and the customers — waaaaay too many people getting their bizarro keys copied perfectly after years of struggle who probably want to hug the staff here).

Despite using Unilocal for several years, I have never written a review, but this experience absolutely cannot go without record:
Day 1: Had the keys to my new apartment duplicated with no problem. The guy was a little curt, but hey, it was only a 2 minute experience.
Little did I know… when things go not as planned, things turn ugly fast with these guys.
Day 2: I was locked out of the apartment. Called them for help, thinking it would be another smooth experience. They mentioned a charge of $ 115 for a guy to come to the apartment and unlock the door. A little high, but I didn’t have a choice. Plus, they were close by, so it would be quick.
Long story short, turns out the door wasn’t actually locked, just stuck enough to be convincing. They had the gall to still charge $ 115 for «unlocking the door»!
After 10 minutes of trying to reason with the locksmith and his boss over the phone, I handed over $ 30 cash just to get the guy out of my apartment.
But I’m still left with a bitter taste in my mouth. They made it seem like I was the one being unreasonable when they shouldn’t have charged anything for having a guy walk 5 minutes to my apartment and push open a completely *unlocked* door. Maybe $ 5 for taking the trouble to go for a 10 minute walk down the street… comes out to $ 30/​hour – not bad for taking a walk. But no, they were still yelling on the phone when I offered $ 30.
Plus, they tried to add extra charges every step of the way, and made up random fees as they went along:
— $ 65 extra for drilling instead of the normal approach, «because there is that extra piece of metal on this door, we can’t do it any other way» (A quick search through Unilocal reviews of other more reputable locksmith companies reveals that many companies do try to tack on the extra fee
— «We need to charge $ 115, but if you pay cash, we won’t have to charge the taxes on top of that.»
— «$ 90 is the service fee. It’s for our lost time. It’s been 20 minutes now since you called us.»
If this is how this business makes money, everyone should know about it. Getting duplicates of keys is fine, but don’t ask for locksmith services from them.
