INCREDIBLE SERVICE. We had issues with our building management and we were able to work it out with TBM. The nicest people I’ve met in NY (not just dog service providers). I highly recommend to everyone.

I cannot say enough about how happy I am with The Barking Meter. If you’re looking for a trustworthy group to care for your dog this is it. My puppy has learned so much, as have I. I highly recommend them for anyone who’s looking for a dog walker!!!

I cannot say enough good things about The Barking Meter. I’d tried a number of dog walkers with limited success and then I stumbled across TBM via a recommendation and haven’t looked back since. They are kind, respectful and spend the time to get to know each of their clients and dogs. I have a shy dog, who doesn’t always love new people coming into our apartment, so we ran into some challenges when switching walkers; however, Kara, the owner, and my dog Leroy’s walker spent time together coming up with a strategy that worked beautifully and now Leroy practically waits by the door for his walks with them! We first started using their services in NYC and I was devastated when I found out we were moving to SF and would need to look for a new walker. I explored several walking options in SF, but none stacked up — TBM is so accommodating and extremely responsive and I always know Leroy is in the hands of someone who cares for him like I would. Needless to say I was thrilled when I found out they’d be joining me on my cross country adventure!
They are a fantastic option for anyone who wants their dog to be well cared for and get the exercise they need. And to top it all off, they have the cutest Instagram account so you always know what the dogs are up to! They are hands down the best and I would highly recommend them.

After my husband and I decided to get a black lab puppy, Margaret Thatcher, we knew that we were going to need some help ensuring that Thatcher had enough activity and training. Several of our friends had been using The Barking Meter for their dogs and felt so strongly about how wonderful the TBM team is that we never considered trying anywhere else.
I immediately spoke with Kara and she patiently answered all my nervous questions on the first day and every day since. We have felt like a member of the TBM family since day one and couldn’t imagine feeling as comfortable trusting our fur baby with anyone else. Not only do we know that Thatcher will get the exercise, attention and continued training she needs, but that she is excited to see her walkers as well as her boarders. When we leave town a member of the team stays with her at our apartment so that she’s comfortable and even feels like it’s a treat to spend more time with other dogs!
Thatcher is such a wonderfully, well trained and happy puppy, and we couldn’t have done it without Kara and The Barking Meter team.

I have never used a dog walker because I work from home and am always able to walk my dog myself. Unfortunately, I was having foot surgery early this morning and at 10:00 last night I started to panic because I realized that I hadn’t found anyone to walk my dog while I recovered from surgery! (Nothing like waiting till the last minute.) I searched the best rated in my area on Unilocal and contacted three walkers — The Barking Meter was the second one I contacted. By the time I finished sending the email to the third walker, I had a response from TBM’s owner! Even though she was out to dinner she responded to me right away… she must have sensed the panic in my request. She put me immediately at ease by telling me she would be more than happy to help me with my situation and to let me know how soon I needed the walks to start. They were able to start with private walks for my dog right after I got home from the doctor’s and even came late to give her a bedtime walk!
They have done everything to accommodate me and they had never even met me or my dog before! Every other dog walker said they could not help on a last minute, short-​term or part-​time basis. I had to be a regular customer with a regular schedule of walks. While I understand this, I was so, so pleased by The Barking Meter’s willingness to help me in my situation. They really went above and beyond and said they would work with me for whatever I needed.
Now I’m going to keep them after I recover just because when you find a service provider who shows integrity and kindness you want to keep them! Not to mention in just this short time my dog loves her walker and wanted to leave with him when he was walking out the door. They are top-​notch!!!

I own a grooming shop that styles more than a dozen of the Barking Meter’s clients. This means we see their walkers on a regular basis and have done since their start. Walkers from TBM are always on time for their appointments — which means they are showing up when the owner expects their dog to be walked. They are also very kind and loving to the pups. I’ve seen firsthand how they handle emergencies with pets and have full confidence in them.

Although I’m not an NYC resident., I can personally attest to TBM’s awesomeness and Kara’s love for her and her client’s doggies. I met her dog Lucca while visiting and absolutely adored her! She’s one of the sweetest smoosh-​faced dogs and is so well-​behaved. I knew I wanted a dog, and Kara coached me through the important considerations and preparations necessary to properly care for one.
Eventually I got my own smoosh-​faced pup, Maximus (a Frenchton), from a breeder that Kara recommended. I love the little guy so much! He had some potty training issues initially, but after explaining them to Kara, she helped me work with Maximus to get them rectified. She also gave me some great tips for our walks, so he’s not walking me… I’m walking him!
Now, whenever I visit NYC, I look forward to seeing Kara and the CampTBM kids (dogs)! Kara truly loves all of them and treats them like her own. And not only do they love her back, they completely respect her and listen to her.

When my dog sees someone from TBM walking down the street, he can spot them from a block away and gets so excited I can barely control him! TBM treats him with great attention and affection. They keep up with my crazy schedule and keep him on his. And always keep me updated on how he did during his walk. Working with TBM has definitely improved the life of this busy New Yorker and her pup!
