I was looking for a shaft coupler. There happened to be one that I could use. I was also looking for a 5V solenoid; although it was out of stock, the employee told me how I could check online for when it was back in stock. I ended up also buying some jumbo LEDs because they looked pretty nice.

Ordered online items and paid extra for sooner delivery date.
Item were not shipped before 3 days and were late by a week.
Unreliable when it comes to delivery.

Forget amazon «same-​day shipping» — do it the old-​fashioned-​way; schlep to the other side of town and get it NOW! But be prepared… you’ll end up buying (and wanting) things you never even knew you needed (or wanted) — with their dorky cornucopia of wires, sensors, boards, and everything else you make whateverthefuck it is that you’re making. Vast selection, helpful staff, and competitive prices. Look ma, no UPS man!

I am so glad that this store exists!
The music is great and the store carries actual stuff, not just toys or beginners’ materials. I am pretty sure that I saw all of the parts, sans frame materials, to build your own 3D printer.
The owner seems pretty knowledgeable, at least she knew about the RTC module I needed!
I am making a bi-​weekly pilgrimage there as there’s always going to be something that I want… I mean need!

Interesting geeky stuff; think radio shack but lower level. Too bad the music was really loud. Also found staff rather cold and a bit aggressive.

Paradise for the inner geek. This place has lot of options from kid toys to advanced robot kits.

I finally made it into this store when it wasn’t closed; I’ve had bad luck coming by to find it closed – simply that it was too late in the day.
The store is ROBOTS – including vintage robot kits, and T-​shirts. I am so happy to have this in my neighborhood, and I can definitely think of a few people who will be getting gifts from here.
I bought a little wind-​up droid before I left; it’s made in China, but nowadays it’s difficult to find things – particularly toys – that aren’t. I am so happy to have this store so close to me.

This place sure is nifty, maintaining a little character that isn’t edible in an increasingly hard-​to-​stick-​around ‘hood. As a former Lego devotee, I appreciated the various ways to create and improve your own hobbies here.

If I lived here this would be where every single friend of my kids would get their birthday presents from. All the tinker-​y items are robot and engineering and maker faire cool. Plus some awesome shirts in the back including Bazinga!

This store is incredible – an utter gem for anyone interested in robotics, mechanical toys, and engineering. First of all, they pretty much sell nothing but ROBOTS and as a huge fan of robotics and all things digitally autonomous and artificially intelligent I almost passed out from happiness walking through this store.
There are more robots here than you can possibly count! While most of them are just toys and not used in scientific research, they have interesting features that are significant in the history and development of robotics, such as a phototaxic robot reminiscent of Elmer and Elsie that moves toward light sources. Others are just plain down handy like a robot that searches for metal objects (need extra quarters?) A few biorobots are also available that can mimic insects and other animals.
The crown jewel in their collection is Bioloid Premium, a sophisticated humanoid robot that is used in scientific research. It comes with servomotors that you can program and customize (recommended for robotics students/​researchers and people who know what they are doing) The shop clerk advised me that you «can basically program this thing to do anything». The price tag is a little gut-​wrenching (~$ 1,200) but worth it if you want to get a better understand of what will inevitably be the future of technology.
