Victor Chu is a New York City photographer specializing in editorial, event and portrait photography. He has worked full-​time for the New York Daily News and has also been internationally published in The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, New York Post and Daily Mail (UK). Some of his regular clients include The New York Botanical Garden and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

History

Established in 2005.

Victor Chu started shooting for clients in 2005 while still in college. He worked for Bronx Times soon after college and after less than 2 years, moved on to the NY Daily News as a full-​time photographer. After 2 years at the News, he started working full-​time for his own company.

As a Chinese-​American growing up in the Bronx, I have learned to absorb and appreciate the diverse culture around New York City. I’m fluent in Chinese and I can speak basic Spanish. You can say I’m New York-​Chinese-​rican.

I studied marketing and photography at Baruch College and became the Photo Editor for The Ticker, the college newspaper. Right after graduation, I was hired as a freelance photographer at Bronx Times Reporter. A couple of months later, I was promoted to staff Photo Editor managing 11 freelance photographers. Afterwards, I worked as a full-​time contract photographer at New York Daily News for over two years covering numerous assignments in the Tri-​State area.

During these several years, I was also international published in The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, New York Post and Daily Mail (UK). Highly rated professionals including Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera have hired me and I regularly shoot for Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.
